Fishing has remained decent despite the brutally hot temperatures. Duane caught his first tarpon and Jimmy has yet to figure out any more tarpon spots. Big and small redfish are around as well.
In this episode Duane talks with Jimmy about his recent fishing trip to the Keys.
Duane and Jimmy spend a good bit of time talking about dock light fishing in this episode. Not surprising with how hot it has been during the day lately. If you’d rather deal with the heat than become a night owl then there’s still some fish around including some really nice croakers.
After a slow start to just about everything this year, the shrimp run is no different. It’s not easy netting shrimp for bait right now. Tarpon still haven’t really showed. Jimmy’s leaving over it and hoping they show up while he’s gone. Duane’s heading to the creeks looking for consistency in freshwater.
Duane and Jimmy get on another rant as the year continues to unfold in its own way. High salinity, murky water, and a very slow start to tarpon season has them both stumping on many different subjects but the river takes center stage.
