Mastering long-term recovery is one of the most fulfilling and exciting accomplishments one can achieve. It is the culmination of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Long-term recovery is not just about abstinence from drugs or alcohol, but it is also about developing a new way of living. It is about creating a life that is fulfilling, purposeful, and joyful.
One of the keys to mastering long-term recovery is developing a strong support system. This includes family, friends, peers, mentors, and healthcare professionals. Having a network of people who understand and support us on our journey can make all the difference. They can provide encouragement, guidance, and accountability when we need it most.
Another essential aspect of mastering long-term recovery is creating a positive lifestyle. This may involve adopting healthy habits such as exercise, healthy eating, meditation, or therapy. It also involves finding activities that bring us joy and fulfillment such as hobbies or volunteering. By creating a positive lifestyle, we can reduce stress and anxiety and improve our overall well-being.
Today on our panel, we have Blake Cohen published author, substance use disorder professional, personal growth and recovery coach and co-founder of Next level recovery associates.

Maintaining a friendship with someone in recovery is an incredible yet challenging journey. Witnessing the transformation and growth of someone who has overcome addiction is truly inspiring. It's a privilege to be a part of their support system and to offer unwavering friendship during their recovery journey. Being there for them during their highs and lows, celebrating their victories, and offering a listening ear during their struggles is what makes these friendships so special.
However, many times it will be a challenging task as we navigate through these friendships for several reasons. One is the possibility of your friend relapsing. Another is the challenges associated with supporting someone who needs extra support, especially in early recovery.
It's important to note how crucial a good support system is for someone in recovery, no matter what stage they're in.
Today, we are talking to Genesis Suarez who not only has friends in recovery but also had a previous romantic relationship with someone in recovery. Her experience on this topic makes for a great conversation you can have with your loved ones in recovery today.

Mommy wine culture is a term used to describe the normalization of alcohol consumption among mothers. It's a phenomenon that has been growing in popularity over the past decade, with many mothers proudly proclaiming their love for wine on social media. The image of a stressed-out mom with a glass of wine in hand has become a common trope in popular culture, perpetuating the idea that alcohol is a necessary part of motherhood.
With Mother's Day around the corner, we are sitting down with Nicole Monaco, mother, admissions representative for Banyan Treatment Centers, and a person in long term recovery. Nicole also found herself a victim of mommy wine culture and has since overcome the unhealthy habit. Nicole is now an advocate for other mothers to do the same.

The truth is binge drinking has more negative effects on a person than positive effects and could cost you your life.

Building romantic relationships during addiction recovery can be a tricky endeavor, but it is possible if approached with care and caution. It is important to remember that a successful relationship requires time, effort, and commitment from both parties. Additionally, it is important to ensure that both parties are in a place where they are comfortable with themselves and their recovery journey before entering into a relationship. It is also important to be honest with yourself and your partner about your recovery journey and any challenges you may be facing. Finally, it is important to find a partner that is supportive and understanding of your recovery journey and can provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be yourself and grow together.
In this episode, we are speaking with Ashley Bonner, LCSW, and Recovery Advocate Abigail Dorfman. Both of our guests have expertise and personal experience in the topic.

Setting realistic goals can be a great way to stay motivated and achieve success. The best way to do this is to break down your goals into smaller, more manageable steps. Make sure your goals are challenging, but realistic and achievable. Also, set a timeline for yourself so you can measure your progress and celebrate your successes along the way. Finally, don’t be afraid to ask for help from those around you if you feel like you need it.
Here to provide us with some tips on effectively setting goals while in recovery is Matt Williams. By accomplishing many goals of his own, Matt was able to get sober and start a successful business around his lifestyle. He is the founder of Fro Pro Snacks, legacy ambassador for lululemon, Podcast Host for Wake up the sun, Certified Recovery Coach, and much more.

It is no secret that many celebrities, past and present, struggle with some form of addiction. It is also no secret that their long journey to recovery becomes a very public matter which can hinder their success. According to a study by the Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention, and Policy Organization, celebrity deaths related to drugs and alcohol have increased from the 20th century to the 21st. This is partially due to the rising popularity of prescription pills in recent years. Today on our panel we have a celebrity in recovery himself, a famous skateboarder and star of MTV’s Jackass, Viva La Bam, CKY movies, and Banyan Recovery Advocate, Brandon Novak.
