It was a wild weekend. On Friday the Red Wings finally became buyers at the trade deadline, trading away Elmer Soderblom, Dmitri Buchelnikov, a '26 1st round pick and Justin Holl for St. Louis defensemen Justin Faulk. It was a lot to give up but it was neccessary given the market to shore up the top 4 for a playoff push. That excitement lasted all of 6 hours, as Detroit would fall 3-1 to the Florida Panthers, and more importantly -- lose Dylan Larkin to an apparent knee injury. On Sunday, without Larkin, the Red Wings managed to shutout the Devils.
