In part 1 of this session from TGC25, three speakers address critical weaknesses in our discipleship that cause believers to drift from the gospel. They provide a defense of Protestantism and give compelling reasons to rediscover the church’s beauty. Jared C. Wilson talks about the danger of assuming gospel centrality rather than cherishing it. Gavin Ortlund talks about the desire, especially felt by young men, for assurance and depth, and he explains how the Protestant Church can provide these things. Brad Edwards considers how to address the modern assumption that the church is inherently harmful. Part 2 will include Q&A with the panelists. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Paul commanded Timothy, “Train yourself for godliness” (1 Tim. 4:7). The spiritual disciplines are essential to our growth into Christlike maturity, so we must learn to invest ourselves in these patterns daily. In this panel discussion recorded at TGC25, Andy Davis, Dan Doriani, Trillia Newbell, Ruth Chou Simons, and Afshin Ziafat discuss very practical ways to become more faithful in prayer, Bible intake, fasting, and other disciplines. At a time when we typically live longer than any generation before us, it seems all we want to do is preserve our youth. From hair dye to microblading, antiaging creams to botox, we negotiate with age through products, surgeries, and even downright denial. But Scripture tells us that wisdom is with the aged and gray hair is a crown of glory—so why are we so age-averse? In this panel discussion recorded at TGCW24, Courtney Doctor, Vanessa Hawkins, Melissa Kruger, Laura Wifler, and Jen Wilkin talk why a biblical perspective on aging means we don’t have to fear the years. Prayer is essential to a flourishing walk with God. Yet, too often, our prayers remain shallow or neglected. The apostle Paul models how to use the beauty of Christ's work as a springboard for hopeful and heartfelt prayer. In this panel discussion from TGC25, Megan Hill, Paul E. Miller, Trillia Newbell, and George Robertson take a fresh look at the prayers of Ephesians with the hope of deepening our delight in drawing near to God. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Christian landscape has shifted in significant ways since 2005, the year The Gospel Coalition was founded. In this panel discussion recorded at TGC25, Mark Vroegop, Nancy Guthrie, Collin Hansen, Juan Sanchez, and Ligon Duncan reminisce about the early days of TGC and reflect on all God has done in the past 20 years. They also talk about what they hope to see in the future as TGC seeks to help renew and unify the contemporary church in the ancient gospel. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Loving Jesus means loving our neighbors as well. But our culture is increasingly post-Christian, post-church, and post-reached. Our neighbors feel further away than they’ve ever been. So what shifts are needed to speak Jesus in this culture? In this talk from TGC25 followed by Q&A, Sam Chan talks about how to speak about Jesus in a more effective way. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Over the past 10 years, Laura Wifler and Emily Jensen have watched motherhood shift in significant ways. As they sunset their popular Risen Motherhood ministry, they've got some parting advice for today's moms. Listen to Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra read her article about it, published at The Gospel Coalition.  In this plenary message from TGC25, Ryan Kwon exposits Ephesians 4:25–5:14. He explains that God's indicatives always lead to God's imperatives, and the grace of God gives believers a new desire to obey God's commands. In Christ, this leads to living out a new individual identity, a new collective identity, and a new familial identity. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this plenary session from TGC25, Andrew Wilson argues that you can't make sense of the book of Ephesians without understanding the necessity of Jesus's ascension. He characterizes the structure of Ephesians 4:1-16 as "mountain-shaped" with the ascension at its peak. Paul urges the early church to unity and maturity because these things are grounded in the gifts of the ascended Christ. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this plenary talk from TGC25, Mark Vroegop teaches from Ephesians 2:11-22. He talks about the compelling need to remember our redemption and its results, to understand how our vertical reconciliation to God effects our horizontal reconciliation with each other. In response, Vroegop calls for the church to embody the unity and diversity that is foretold in Revelation 7. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this second of a two-part discussion hosted by the Theopolis Institute, Collin Hansen and James R. Wood discussed discuss whether a "negative world" framing is helpful, whether or not Keller should have been more concerned with politics, and whether winsomeness is synonymous with avoiding hard truths your listeners don't want to hear. They also take questions from the audience. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
In this first of a two-part discussion hosted by the Theopolis Institute, Collin Hansen and James R. Wood discuss Tim Keller's strengths and weaknesses. They consider the legacy of Keller's Christ-centered preaching, explore the good and bad of the "third way," and confer over his focus on evangelism rather than political theology. Revelation is a book of the Bible many of us fear or avoid: it can feel opaque at best and terrifying at worst. Popular conceptions in movies and fiction have added to the confusion around its message. But we don't have to view this hope-filled book as inaccessible or weird. In this conversation recorded at TGC25, Mike Kruger and Jen Wilkin talk about the riches that lie behind the symbols and story of Revelation—a message its original listeners heard and understood, and one we can too. these Women are under the woke gaze. they have more criticism for prolifers who have real skin in the game than for people actually facilitating mass murder.

I wish more people would call out false teachers like he did. it's not your creating us and them mentality, it's to protect people being led astray by them.

Thank you for your insightful discussion today. This is indeed a messy situation for the church to be in and we need to be more vocal about these errant preaching methods. The world thinks that it has no need for the (g)ospel but that is because, for too long, it has been shown such a diluted version of the faith found in real Christianity. The world needs the REAL Gospel and those who are part of it to stand up and be heard. Stand up and be heard. For the sake of those who are being deceived by these false teachers.
