John 15:1-11 | The True Vine from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Sam Powers John 15:1-11 The True Vine The Vinedresser Abide in Me As the Father has loved me That my Joy may be in you 7 Truths for the Believer Abiding in Christ does not lead to ease - it leads to pruning. Salvation is not at stake in abiding- but joy is. Abiding in Christ is not an individual sport - it’s done in community. Abiding in Christ is not the pursuit of feelings - it’s the pursuit of holiness. Abiding in Christ is not occasional - it’s moment by moment. Abiding in Christ is not without opposition - the world, the flesh, and the devil hate it. Abiding in Christ is not sustained by our commitment - it’s sustained by grace.
Romans 3:21–26 | Gospel Glory — Part 2 from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 3:21–26 GOSPEL GLORY JUSTIFICATION REDEMPTION PROPITIATION Romans 6:10–11 (ESV) For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. London Baptist Confession He has accomplished these things by His perfect obedience and sacrifice of Himself, which He once for all offered up to God through the eternal Spirit. Hebrews 9:11–12 (ESV) But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. Hebrews 9:22 (ESV) Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:23–24 (ESV) Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Hebrews 9:26 (ESV) But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrews 10:14 (ESV) For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. John Murray Vengeance is the reaction of the holiness of God to sin, and the covering is that which provides for the removal of divine displeasure which the sin evokes. … To propitiate means to “placate,” “pacify,” “appease,” “conciliate.” And it is this idea that is applied to the atonement accomplished by Christ. John Murray Propitiation presupposes the wrath and displeasure of God, and the purpose of propitiation is the removal of this displeasure. Very simply stated the doctrine of propitiation means that Christ propitiated the wrath of God and rendered God propitious to his people. London Baptist Confession By His obedience and death, Christ fully paid the debt of all those who are justified. He endured in their place the penalty they deserved. By this sacrifice of Himself in His bloodshed on the cross, He legitimately, really and fully satisfied God’s justice on their behalf. John Murray It is one thing to say that the wrathful God is made loving. That would be entirely false. It is another thing to say the wrathful God is loving. That is profoundly true. 1 John 4:10 (ESV) In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Gospel Partnership Manual The gospel is God’s proclamation that by grace through faith the believer is united to Jesus in His life, death and resurrection so that he is forgiven of his sin and granted Jesus’s righteousness and thus will be presented before God, not condemned but redeemed, glorifying God forever.
Romans 3:21–26 | Gospel Glory — Part 1 from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe _Romans 3:21–26 _ 2024-04-07 | ProPresenter TITLE: Gospel Glory — Part 1 SCRIPTURE: Romans 3:21–26 GOSPEL GLORY THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD APART FROM THE LAW THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD THROUGH FAITH THE REDEMPTION THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS GOD’S KINDNESS VINDICATED — THE JUST AND THE JUSTIFIER John Murray Redemption contemplates our bondage and is the provision of grace to release us from that bondage. Propitiation contemplates our liability to the wrath of God and is the provision of grace whereby we may be freed from that wrath. Ezekiel 33:10–11 (ESV) And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: ‘Surely our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we rot away because of them. How then can we live?’ Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel? The 1689 Baptist Confession (Article 11) By His obedience and death, Christ fully paid the debt of all those who are justified. He endured in their place the penalty they deserved. By this sacrifice of Himself in His bloodshed on the cross, He legitimately, really and fully satisfied God’s justice on their behalf. Yet their justification is based entirely on free grace, because He was given by the Father for them, and His obedience and satisfaction were accepted in their place. These things were done freely, not because of anything in them, so that both the exact justice and the rich grace of God would be glorified in the justification of sinners. John Bunyan, The Pilgrim’s Progress, 1688 So I saw in my dream that just as Christian came up to the cross, his burden loosed from off his shoulders and fell from off his back and began to tumble, and so continued to do till it came to the mouth of the sepulchre, where it fell in, and I saw it no more. Then was Christian glad and lightsome and said with a merry heart, “He hath given me rest by His sorrow and life by His death.” Then he stood still awhile to look and wonder, for it was very surprising to him that the sight of the cross should thus ease him of his burden. He looked therefore and looked again, even till the springs that were in his head sent the waters down his cheeks.
1 Corinthians 15:50–58 | Resurrection Reality from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe 1 Corinthians 15:50–58 RESURRECTION IN HISTORY RESURRECTION FUTILITY RESURRECTION IN FACT RESURRECTION VICTORY RESURRECTION LIFE Philip Ryken … when the Israelites praised God for bringing them out of Egypt — sending the plagues, providing the lamb, parting the sea, and all the rest of it — were they praising him for something that he had actually done or were they simply making up a story about where they came from? J. Gresham Machen The great weapon with which the disciples of Jesus set out to conquer the world was not a mere comprehension of eternal principles; it was an historical message, an account of something that had recently happened, it was the message, “He is risen.” Charles Spurgeon We believe that every portion of Scripture history is not only a faithful transcript of what did actually happen, but also a shadow of what happens spiritually in the dealings of God with his people, or in the dispensations of his grace towards the world at large. John 21:24 (ESV) This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
John 19:30 | The Word of Victory from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe John 19:30 Τετέλεσται = It is finished THE END OF HISTORY THE END OF SUFFERING THE END OF ATONEMENT THE END OF GLORY A. W. Pink From the beginning, God’s purpose has always been one and indivisible. It has been declared to men in various ways: in symbol and type, by mysterious hints and by plain intimations, through Messianic prediction and through didactic declaration. That purpose of God may be summarized thus: to display his grace and to magnify his Son in the creating of children in his own image and glory. Luke 22:42 (ESV) Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. Psalm 85:10 (ESV) Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Colossians 1:17–20 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. Hebrews 1:1–4 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. Ephesians 3:8–12 … the unsearchable riches of Christ … is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord. Hebrews 2:9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. John 16:33 (ESV) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Romans 3:9–20 | None is Righteous from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 3:9–20 ARE WE JEWS BETTER OFF? NONE IS RIGHTEOUS THE WHOLE WORLD HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD Psalm 53:1–3 (ESV) The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. Psalm 5:9 (ESV) For there is no truth in their mouth; their inmost self is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue. Psalm 140:3 (ESV) They make their tongue sharp as a serpent’s, and under their lips is the venom of asps. Psalm 10:7 (ESV) His mouth is filled with cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue are mischief and iniquity. Proverbs 1:16 (ESV) for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood. Isaiah 59:7-8 (ESV) Their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their highways. The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked; no one who treads on them knows peace. Isaiah 59:2 (ESV) but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, Psalm 36:1 (ESV) Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. Romans 7:22–23 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.
Romans 3:1-8 | What advantage has the Jew? from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Sam Powers Romans 3:1-8 Then what advantage has the Jew? What if some were unfaithful? But if our unrighteousness serves to show to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? But if through my lie, God’s truth abound to his Glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? 4 Reminders: Having the scriptures is a great advantage. Having the scripture does not save. God’s Judgement is righteous and true. The Gospel frees us into obedience, not from it. Special Guest: Sam Powers.
Romans 2:25–29 | Who is the Circumcision? from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 2:25–29 CIRCUMCISION, A MATTER OF THE HEART WHO ARE THE PEOPLE OF GOD? Romans 8:3–4 (ESV) For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Ephesians 2:11–13 (ESV) Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 3:14-21 | The Trinitarian Commission from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Miguel Medina Ephesians 3:14-21 Submitting to the Father Submitting to the Spirit Submitting to the Son Special Guest: Miguel Medina.
Romans 2:17–24 | Teach Yourself from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 2:17–24 YOU CALL YOURSELF A JEW YOU ARE A GUIDE TO THE BLIND DO YOU NOT TEACH YOURSELF YOU DISHONOR GOD Implications You Too Know God It is Good, Not Evil to Instruct Others It is Evil to Dishonor God with Hypocrisy Teach Yourself Romans 2:12 (ESV) For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. Matthew 15:14 (ESV) And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit. Proverbs 6:23 (ESV) For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life, James 3:1 (ESV) Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. John 9:39–41 (ESV) Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains. Matthew 5:27–28 (ESV) You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him Romans 2:23 You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law. Romans 3:22–23 For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:21–22 (ESV) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. Romans 3:27–28 (ESV) Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Philippians 1:9–11 (ESV) And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. John Flavel It is true, orthodoxy in itself is not sufficient to any man’s salvation; but the conjunction of an orthodox head, with an honest sincere heart, does always constitute an excellent Christian. Happy is the man that hath an head so hearted, and an heart so headed.
Romans 2:12-16 | The Work of the Law on the Hearts of Men from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 2:12-16 THE REASONING THUS FAR IMPARTIALITY AND THE LAW SEVEN IMPLICATIONS Right and wrong are fixed truths that are accessible to every human soul. It is appropriate to expect moral behavior. Morality does not originate from within the human soul. Impartial judgement is an impending righteous reality. Each one does know the truth. Appeal to this. You have the opportunity to explain the source and origination of that moral reality. There is a rubber banding effect to our depravity. Romans 1:20 (ESV) For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:32 (ESV) Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Romans 2:6-11 | God’s Righteous Judgement from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 2:6-11 GOD’S RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT WILL BE REVEALED HE WILL RENDER TO EACH ONE ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS TWO WAYS TO SEEK GOD SHOWS NO PARTIALITY WRATH STORED UP RIGHTEOUSNESS REVEALED Matthew 6:33 (ESV) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Romans 6:20–23 (ESV) For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8–10 (ESV) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Romans 8:14–15 (ESV) For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Romans 2:1–5 | You Have No Excuse from CrossPointe Coast on Vimeo. Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe Romans 2:1–5 WHERE ARE WE GOING? ROMANS 1 YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE TRUE AND FALSE TWO WAYS TO LIVE A HARD WORD FOR THE CHURCH Romans 3:21–25 (ESV) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. Matthew 7:2 (ESV) For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Isaiah 6:9 (ESV) Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive. Ephesians 1:18–20 (ESV) having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places Romans 3:21–25 (ESV) But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. Ephesians 1:4–8 (ESV) In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” J. I. Packer Luke seems to have understood his four cases of ‘Pentecostal manifestations’ as God’s testimony to having accepted on equal footing in the new society four classes of folk whose coequality might hereto otherwise have been doubted—Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles, and disciples of John. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.  Romans 6:3–4 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.  Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Ephesians 4:4–6 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Genesis 1:27 (ESV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 1 Corinthians 4:12 So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.
