Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week...Anthony and Steph are a mess, but the show must go on! Segment 1: Before you were a parent, do you remember telling yourself that you were/were not going to say and do certain things to your kids? Yes? How has that held up? Anthony and Steph have a few examples of things they've folded on, over the years, that they never thought they would! (Timecode 7:34) Segment 2: Co-parenting. It's fun, right? Well, maybe bittersweet is the best way to describe the reality. It's great knowing there is someone else who loves your kids(s) as much as we do...but we don't always want to share! Anthony and Steph take turns sharing the pros and cons when it comes to co-parenting and how they deal with it all. (Timecode 25:35) Segment 3: A horrific tragedy recently hit Anthony and Steph's community, and that's gotten the duo thinking a lot about how to truly be content in the moments we have in our lives (because the next moments are never guaranteed). What does/can true contentment look like for Single Parents; that may be a big question to ask, but our hosts are going to do their best to break down their thoughts! They'll answer a viewer's question, share some kind and encouraging words that some of our fellow Hot SP'S have said about the show, and respond to some comments our hosts may not quite agree with. It's the Anthony & Steph Comment Reaction Extravaganza episode, and it's going to be a party! Let's get into it! _______________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we're we have some allegations to beat! Segment 1: Like many groups of people out there, Single Parents are often labeled with some wild stereotypes! Some of them may be truer than others. However, these stereotypes need to be addressed! Are Single Dads only capable of doing the bare minimum? Are Single Moms only out to get that child support money? Anthony and Steph are here to break it all down and share their thoughts! (Timecode 6:18) Segment 2: This one's for all the bosses out there...no, like literal bosses! You see, Anthony and Steph wanted to have an honest conversation about some things employers can keep in mind when it comes to leading their Single Parent employees! In fact, as a business owner, Steph's own boss wrote an amazing letter on the subject that we're very excited to share with you all! (Timecode 24:19) Segment 3: Okay, let's talk about Steph! She's an amazing podcast host and a great mom...but who the heck is she?? Well, our hosts wanted to end this week's show by giving our wonderful listeners a chance to get to know Steph and her story! She's going to share her parenting journey with us, as well as answer the age-old question...was that one dress on the internet black and blue or white and gold?? Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we're using social media to talk about...well, social media! Segment 1: We love and appreciate all of the amazing viewers and listeners of our show! However, Anthony and Steph are kicking this episode off by discussing five things that you may truly only relate to if you're a full-fledged Single Parent! For example, people love to make a lot of assumptions about your life, right?? (Timecode: 7:17) Segment 2: Let's talk about social media; many of us tolerate it, while many of us love it so much! But have you ever given much thought to how your kids consume things online? Social media is a major part of our society these days and we need to be aware of how our children are/will engage with it! As parents of younger children, Anthony and Steph spend some time sharing their thoughts on their kids' involvement with the digital world. (Timecode 29:05) Segment 3: As people who have lived as Single Parents for many years now, what advice do Anthony and Steph have for people who are still trying to figure out the SP life? What words of encouragement do our hosts want to share with people who (maybe even suddenly and unexpectedly) find themselves raising kids alone? We'll get into all of that to conclude the episode, but remember you got this! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we're getting raw and real...This week, we're doing things a little differently. You see, our host, Anthony, recently came across a very honest and emotional Facebook post written by a Single Mother to other Single Parents out there. The post was powerful and very well written. Therefore, Anthony asked the Single Mom if he could share her words on the podcast. The mom agreed. In this episode, he shares her words with you all. That's the gist of this week's show, but we're keeping things straightforward because odds are, there is a Single Parent who needs to hear these words, be encouraged, and be reminded that they're not alone. This episode is for that person. Let's get into it... ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we're stepping into the pods with a special guest, Single Mom, Steph! Segment 1: Listen, we love our kids. We would do anything for our kids. However, sometimes it can be tough to find the time/desire to slow down and enjoy the time we have with our children. When was the last time you laughed with your little ones? When was the last time you remember having fun with them? Anthony and Steph discuss what this looks like in their lives and how they're finding ways to take in the smiles! (Timecode: 5:55) Segment 2: Netflix's Love is Blind season 6 is out and, it's crazier than ever! What does that have to do with this show, you ask? Well, on this season of the show, there is a Single Mom (Jessica Vestal) who tries her luck finding a perfect match! Anthony and Steph react to Jessica's experience on the show and talk about when they would mention to their blind dates the fact that they're actually a package deal! (Timecode: 22:22) Segment 3: We're closing the show by asking Steph how she stays encouraged and hopeful as a Single Mom. Spoiler Alert: She gives a lot of credit to surrounding herself with a positive community! We as SP's need to remember that we need others to lift us up and help us find joy in life. Even though we're doing this solo, we don't need to be solo all the time! (Timecode: 42:05) Let's get into it! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we're changing the narrative on the whole "being single" thing. Segment 1: As single parents, guilt is a feeling/emotion that can pop up within us often. We may feel guilty about who our kids' other parent is, how much we have to work to survive, or even that we wish we could give our kids more. Guilt is real, and Anthony is going to break down his thoughts on guilt and how we can both respond to navigate it as Solo Parents. Segment 2: Let's normalize being single! Okay? Thanks! Our culture loves (overtly or subtly) to make single people feel as if they're "not enough" unless they're in a relationship. Well, Anthony just watched a TikTok about this topic and he's ready to give his hot takes on some outdated ways of thinking that need to change! Segment 3: We're closing the show by giving some love to our married friends out there who, essentially, function as Single Parents. Perhaps, this is because their spouse's career often takes them away from the family, their spouse just isn't helpful at all, or maybe because their spouse physically/mentally can't help at this time. We see you married Single Parents, and we love you! Let's get into it! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! It's time for a birthday party! Segment 1: Have you believed the lie that you need to always be big, fun, and awesome in the eyes of your kids? Does your pride ever get in the way to where you want your kids to go back to their "other parent's" house singing your praises? To start the show, Anthony confesses the fact that he often struggles to enjoy the ordinary aspects of life with his kids because he feels like he always needs to be seen as the cool dad! Can you relate? Segment 2: Don't let people use your kids to practice being a parent! What does this mean? Well, sometimes, people will come into our lives claiming to want to play a role in our children's lives, only for them to bounce whenever they feel like it's convenient for them to do so. They'll often bring up wanting to have "their own" kids, either with you or someone else, which is cool...except they'll use our kids as placeholders until something (or someone) else comes along. Let's not let people do that, okay? Segment 3: It's Anthony's birthday! For many, this is often a celebratory time, but for our host, it has become the opposite. This time of year has been rough for him lately, and he's ready to get very honest about where he's at mentally and emotionally at the start of 2024. Hopefully, through his vulnerability, many of you will be able to find encouragement for your own journeys! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, we have a very furry guest with us! Segment: So far on the show, we've discussed how the Single Parent life plays out for many different people and perspectives. However, we have yet to acknowledge how this lifestyle impacts our pets! Therefore, joining Anthony for the first part of the show, this week, is none other than his trusty French Bull Dog friend, Zeus! Segment 2: Okay, so...you know we like to keep things fun and lighthearted on this show. However, we need to use this segment to have some real talk for a bit. Why? Because there some some very selfish "parents" out there who simply think it's okay to come in and out of their kids' lives whenever it's convenient for them to do so...and it's time they got called out for their trash behavior! Segment 3: So, a few episodes ago, Anthony made the claim that "Single Parents are hot!" Well, this week, he's going to back up that claim but providing 5 concrete examples as to why Single Parents deserve their flowers! Check out these reasons and then be PROUD to be an SP! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! It's to talk about parenting...again! Segment 1: SIGH! That was the sound of Anthony letting out a big old exhale after surviving a wild Fall season! Birthdays, back-to-school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas...yeah, that part of the calendar can be a lot! Now, it's time to rest from all the festivities as we ease into a hot, new year! Segment 2: Okay, so, what's the difference between a Single Parent and an Only Parent? Are there many similarities between them; are there any noticeable differences? Anthony is going to spend some time breaking it all down and giving some major flowers to those moms and dads, out there, who literally have their children by their side, 24/7 and 365! We see you; we love you! Segment 3: Can we get serious for a second? Okay, good. Our mental health as single parents is important! And sometimes, the realities of life hit us hard, beyond the normal exhaustion and stress most people face. Therefore, for the sake of our mental well-being, we need to get help...and that's okay. To end our show this week, Anthony reminds us that you're not "less than" if you seek assistance securing a healthier mental future. ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! It's time to set the stage for a bright, new year! Segment 1: On last week's show, Anthony set the vision for The SPP in 2024 as he brought us, officially, into the "Hot Era." This week, our host is catching us up on how 2023 ended for him; what's he been up to? Well, the answer to that is, of course, going to include a dating story! And this one ends with his date leaving a review of him for all the girls in his town to see! Segment 2: Should you introduce your kid(s) to everyone you date? This is a big question that many SP's will have different opinions on. In this segment, Anthony shares his thoughts on the topic, as well as breaks down a rule he's put into place when it comes to his children meeting his lovers. Segment 3: It's officially a brand new year, which means the possibilities are endless! As we're in the early days of 2024, Anthony reminds us that although turning the calendar can be intimidating, it can also include some unexpected surprises and blessings that we have no idea are coming our way! And this reality is something that should get us pumped to jump out of bed each day! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! It's 2024, we're officially in our Hot Era! Segment 1: In our first episode back in the new season, Anthony explains how the vision for our "Hot Era" came from the fact that a lot of other content for Single Moms and Single Dads is such a bummer! Yes, the SP life can be challenging, but it's not always grey skies! Therefore, Anthony wants our show/content to be about celebrating that SP's are baddies too! So much so that we want to get the attention of Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy! Segment 2: Being a Single Mom or Single Dad may describe a lot about who we are, but it doesn't need to completely define who we are! Anthony explains how a conversation with a fellow Single Parent helped him remember that our purpose is not to only be a parent; we are/can be so much more! Segment: It's time to talk about loneliness! Yay! Anthony shares a quote about this reality and reminds us that, although we are hot, our lifestyle can often feel isolating. However, we can keep our heads high and remember that we are not alone! We're in this thing together! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! It's great to be back with you all again! It's only been a couple of weeks, but for our host, it feels like it's been a year! For example, Anthony has had to deal with the fact that his engine literally fell out of his car two days before Halloween with his girls! However, Anthony is still here to catch us up on all the chaos and drama that, we're sure, many of you can relate to...especially this time of the year. The holiday season is officially upon us, and for many (including our kids) this means navigating many scenarios and people that may be triggering! These triggers may even include ensuring that our kids set their boundaries when allowing physical contact with people who may even be family. Yes! It's okay to tell Uncle Bobby no! And our kids need to know that! Let's get into the conversation! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! Boo! Did we scare you? Sorry, but it's Halloween, so we must set the vibes! But please don't run away because Anthony needs your help coming up with a costume idea to go with his daughters' outfits! Also, we're giving a special shoutout to all the "Married Single Parents" out there! These are men and women who may, technically, have a spouse, but still function and live as many traditional single parents, for different reasons. Finally, we're seeing what AI has to say about the solo mama and dad life! Anthony asked ChatGPT three questions about single parenting to see what kinds of advice and insights it may present! Technology is progressing just like parenting, so we're going to see what current technology has to say about a context that many people find themselves in! Hello, all you beautiful people out there! Welcome to the Single Parents Podcast! This week, Anthony is exhausted and Nicole is not really sure how she's doing, if she's being honest! But that's reality! Our hosts break down dating (of course) in reaction to the viral social media stories regarding the 48 Oyster Girl and Cheesecake Factory Girl! You won't want to miss their thoughts on that! And finally, our friends have an honest discussion about control, when it comes to parenting. What does it look like to give our sons and daughters some sense of autonomy, while also guiding them as their parents? What is the difference between negotiating with our kids vs. having a conversation with them? We'll get into all of that and more in this episode, so jump on into the fun! ___________________________________________________ New episodes drop every Wednesday!
