The Series Wrapup – the OC Men invite the Hart of Dixie Chicks to talk about the entire series of The O.C. and send it off in style. We read some reviews from when the show first aired, rank our favorite seasons, sing some songs, and celebrate the culmination of this crazy journey!
It's a magical night for an awards show! The OC Men each compile their own top five episodes of The O.C. Together with lists submitted by listeners, they set out to compile the definitive list of the top episodes of The O.C.!
The OC - Season 4 Wrapup. The OC Men sit down to chat about the final season of their beloved show. They discuss the highs and lows of a very divisive season. They also bring up every dumb running gag that has popped up over the course of the podcast.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 16 - "The End's Not Near, It's Here". Here it is! The final episode! We jump ahead six months to see how the crew is handling the aftermath of the earthquake. Ryan and Taylor are splits, Seth and Summer are in old married couple mode, Julies is getting married, and Kirsten is about to burst. Sandy and Kirsten have to decide where they want to move. Ryan has to decide his feelings for Taylor. Julie has to decide her choice in man. Seth has to decide anything. If you think this isn't going to wrap up without hi-jinks then you, sir, are a fool. I said good day!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 15 - "The Night Moves". Working on their night moves! The gang is spread across Newport after the earthquake hits, and they must make their way back to each other and back to safety. Whether they're stuck in a mall or an ice cream shop, along the way they'll spend a lot of time asking for special privileges just because of who they are - like getting a doctor to ignore patients but examine a rabbit - but they'll also learn important lessons about family!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 14 - "The Shake Up". It's Taylor's birthday! But it turns out she's never had a birthday party before. Ryan has second thoughts about his birthday gift, Kirsten has second thoughts about raising a baby in Newport, Kaitlin has second thoughts about agreeing to let her mom date Frank, and Summer has second thoughts about dating Seth when he can't even make a student film.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 13 - "The Case of the Franks". Everyone tries to make the decision for Julie as to who she should marry - someone she doesn't love who's rich, or an abusive alcoholic who hasn't really done much atoning? Choices, choices! Meanwhile, Summer and Seth worry about a fortune predicted by a fortune teller they meet at a mall food court in what might be the most season 4 plotline of all time.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 12 - "The Groundhog Day". Sure, you may have watched television shows featuring one girl in a groundhog costume. You may have even seen two groundhog costumes in some weird show. But I defy you to find another episode of television that features three ladies in groundhog costumes. This episode truly has everything. Kirsten turns 40 and gets a surprise - both from the doctor and Sandy. Che tries to decide if Seth is his soulmate. Meanwhile, Taylor pops her head out to decide if she sees her shadow or not to determine if we get three more months of being single.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 11 - "The Dream Lover". Ryan can't say "I love you" to Taylor, and Seth can't say, "I know you" to his otter. We continue the dream themes of season 4 with Seth and Che go on a vision quest. Meanwhile, Ryan is trying to make up his mind about Taylor, and Julie is trying to make up with Kiki. Dream lover, come rescue me!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 10 - "The French Connection". Sacre bleu! Taylor's French ex-husband releases a steamy book about their relationship, and for some reason descends up on The O.C. We are treated to every French stereotype there is as Ryan struggles to find his place in Taylor's life. Meanwhile, Summer and Seth continue to be idiots while both pretending they want to get married.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 9 - "The My Two Dads". Remember how Ryan's dad was an abusive alcoholic criminal? Well he's actually hunky looking, and he's decided to be nice now, so let's forgive him! Also... Chris Brown is in this? Yeesh. Meanwhile, Summer and Seth pretend to be engaged. This episode is all over the place.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 8 - "The Earth Girls Are Easy". Core Four 2.0 takes a road trip to Vegas to ring in the New Year, but they're in store for an out-of-this-world adventure before they get there. Pregnancy scares, alien costumes, and raves continue the trend of season 4 being the most ridiculous season. Oh, also Kevin Sorbo is here.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 7 - "The Chrismukk-huh?". Welcome to Bizarro OC... Sandy is married to Julie. Summer is getting married to Chester. And Taylor is a fella? Ryan and Taylor take a tumble off a ladder and wake up in a very strange world indeed. In a very special Chrismukkah episode, we get a view of the OC if Ryan never showed up to Newport. Very special guest Jaleh shows up to help us celebrate the fourth and final holiday episode on The O.C.!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 6 - "The Summer Bummer". Summer deals with some bummer news and heads back to Newport, while Seth ends up in Rhode Island with time to kill. Kaitlin tries recapturing some of her youth by throwing a rager at her house, while Ryan deals with his possible feelings for Taylor through a series of ridiculous daydreams. BANG!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 5 - "The Sleeping Beauty". Ryan struggles to sleep, Taylor struggles to woo Ryan, and Summer struggles to avoid snuggling a rabbit named Pancakes!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 4 - "The Metamorphosis". Everything is adorable! We watch a lovely episode of the The O.C. in which everyone makes good decisions, communicates their feelings effectively, and makes charming jokes. Summer finally starts coming to terms with the new persons she's become since heading to college. Ryan starts to reach out to others by helping a friend. Sandy attemps to make a new friend at work. Also, Julie and Kaitlin realize they can't escape their true nature.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 2 - "The Cold Turkey". Everyone keeps GOBBLING up all the sadness in mourning their dead friend, and Volchok WADDLES back into their lives. Seth decides to WING IT and attempt to keep Summer happy, while Sandy tries to stay aBREAST of what's bothering Ryan.
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 2 - "The Gringos". Hot on the heels of Volchok, Ryan heads back to TJ to follow a tip from Julie. Hot on the heels of Ryan, Seth follows along to try and talk sense into his buddy. Hot on the heels of Seth, Sandy and Kirsten try and stop the boys from doing anything dumb. Oh hey, it's also Steve-O! The O.C. also hits an all-time high for homophobic jokes, so... that's something!
The O.C. - Season 4, Episode 1 - "The Avengers". We start the final season of The O.C. as we see the repercussions of the Season 3 finale. Ryan is cage fighting, Summer is protesting, and Seth is doing his best to hold the family together. We also talk to friend of the show Jaleh about Placebo!
We close out Season 3 with a little help from our friends, The Hart of Dixie Chicks. Jaleh, JeskuhBS, and Eliza Jo help us unpack thoughts on a divisive season with an even more divisive season finale. We cap off the episode with the return of OC&D. We head back to our OC RPG as Eliza Jo walks us through a spooky adventure.
