Intro text – Gareth Thomas speaks with Dr Carol Davies (Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Southampton), Dr David Harvie (Higher Trainee in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care in Wessex) and Dr Rob Chambers (Consultant in Intensive Care in Southampton). In this two-part series, we discuss the role that palliative medicine can play within the ICU both for patients and staff, the surprising impact when dealing with referrals.
