The girls are back! Join us on today's episode discussing where we've been, why we took a break and what are next step is in this podcast journey. Listen to how Nickie celebrated her 17th birthday, Riana's new path to becoming a gym junkie and Saraa's hidden skill of delivering the perfect segways. We hope you missed us as much as we've missed you! Also a huge shoutout to Pastel Corn for our new intro and outro music!
School friends vs Close friends: as we try to cling onto both, a sense of obligation arise. In this episode, we also dive into more toxic forms of obligations in friendships: unconditional loyalty, feeling responsible for a friend group’s happiness or always buying your friend’s lunch.  But hey, that’s what friends are for… right? PS: This is our final episode for Season 1, and also our final episode with Riana, sadly. See you guys in Season 2!
This is a summary from last week's episode for those who want a quick round-up. Please do your part in strengthening this movement. Donate. Sign Petitions. Protest. Repost. Educate others. Educate yourself. Stay open-minded. Write to the mayors/ministers. Use your influence and platform to spread awareness, no matter how many followers you have. As teenagers, we have one of the most powerful tools on our side: social media, so you have no excuse to not help.  Awareness is the first step to change, don't undermine the power of spreading awareness and educating others. DO YOUR PART!  https://blacklivesmatter.carrd.co/
The death of George Floyd has reignited the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter movement from back in 2013, and has now gained even more traction thanks to the new magnitude of protests, and the re-posting and retweeting. As teens of Australia, we also dive into how Australians have been using the momentum to reflect on the hypocrisy concerning our treatment towards Aboriginal people. Let's talk more about it on this episode
Fantasising about the most epic love life, while you lay in bed unable to sleep? Standards on boys set too high because of celebrities like Harry Styles? Fall for the first guy to give you attention? Feel attacked yet? Don’t worry, we’re also guilty. Wishing for a boyfriend/girlfriend is totally normal, but beware, it’s not all hugs and kisses like Instagram tells you!
"Enjoy it while it lasts," is something we're always told by adults. But it's true! Our youth is precious and limited, yet many of us -- we included -- are glued to our phones 24/7, binging every show available on Netflix, or are hermits in the house. Being in quarantine justify this, but it also emphasises how easily life can just slip out of our hands without any new fun experiences. Why does this happen and what can we do it about it?
We all say "just one more video," but it never stops. TikTok never fails to make someone laugh, which is why once you press the download button, you'll be stuck for hours. We can't resist the instant gratification and the daily dose of dopamine that TikTok gives whenever someone makes fun of Debby Ryan or create edits of Timothée Chalamet. Why is that, and how do we reach a balance without deleting this double-edged-app?!
6 am morning, breakfast, Chole Ting workout, online school, homework, dinner, study, skincare, then bedtime at 10 pm. Rinse and repeat. If that sounds like your day, congrats! You're a productive champion. But what if it's a lot more Netflix and A LOT less studying (if any)?? We can't help but feel guilty during right now when everyone seems like they're making good use of their time. That's okay, part of quarantine is relaxing too.  Care to procrastinate some more with us by listening? I think so!
Tik-Tok addiction, Overeating, under-exercising, procrastination, spending 10+ hours a day binging Netflix, if these symptoms sound familiar, you're probably diagnosed with Quarantine Boredom, sorry! We've all had our fair share of bad habits, let's play bingo and see which one you've contracted.
Being in quarantine is a little bit like what happened in Umbrella Academy -- our family is forced together again, for better or worse. Cue the fun, fights, and favourite movie binges, because we're gonna be in this for the long run! Also, we go off-topic for like 4 minutes straight.
Since we can't meet up and do full episodes, we decided to stick to short ones through calls! Times are hard, we can't escape procrastination and have 100 missing tasks on Google Classroom... so is this the world of online class?   - Zoom University Graduates
From Nickie's poop adventures in Vietnam, or Riana's awkward monopoly canteen exchange to Saraa's breakdown after shaving her head, we uncover some of our memorable, awkward and low-key traumatic childhood stories. Make a cup of tea or just sit back and chill with us here on The Teenaging Podcast.
We're only mid-way through our term but we bet you've already heard a rumour. As homework piles up so do the drama, social pressures, teasing, and bullying. Let's elaborate more on what was said last time, especially more on the damage control.

Being Ethnic in School

If you trash talk in your native language in front of others, had the same last name as 7 other kids in your yearbook even if you're not related, can't go out because your parents said "you had fun yesterday", or is immune to spice, you're probably ethnic. Let's talk about that!

Periods [reupload]

It used to be something only whispered in the hallways between the girls...but times are changing! Yes, we're talking about periods: the all-familiar, painful, awkward and sometimes joyful occurrence that happens to all the females around you. Why don't we dive into to it together on The Teenaging Podcast!
Schools about to start and nobody has time for the drama. Rumour has it that teens are overreacting, but is it really true? Well, judgement, sexual harassment, fear of confrontation, toxic friendships and toxicity in high school is no exaggeration. Why don't we dive into it together on The Teenaging Podcast. PS: Our episodes order got mucked up due to redirecting, sorry for the confusion, this was supposed to be episode 1!
