Good news: Dave survived a stroke in 2019  and a head-on car crash caused by another driver, which put him in the hospital. If he hadn't been in the hospital the brain tumor would never have been discovered. He was about to go blind. Twelve neurosurgeons turned him down, saying the surgery was too risky. Finally, the right surgeron stepped up to the plate -- who just happens to be an old friend of mine! (A godshot coincidence?) *Dave is a former National Football League administrator with Washington and New Orleans in the 70's.  He also served as a Promotion Director with "Ice Follies" and as Sports Information Director with the University of California, Riverside.  He had been honored with 5 national publication awards, including two "Best in the Nation".  He received the Gold Top Crunch Award for Marketing Excellence from the Snack Food Association, defeating Frito-Lay.He was referred to Dr. Daniel Kelly, Dr. Chester Griffiths and Amy Eisenberg of the Pacific Neurological Institute in Santa Monica, CA for his brain tumor surgery in 2021 by his dear friends, actress Shelley Fabares (The Donna Reed Show, Coach, and Brian's Song) and the only actress to co-star with Elvis Presley in three films) and her husband, actor Mike Farrell ( of TV's M*A*S*H) after being turned away by 12 neurosurgeons in Chicago as well as the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins.
