Nini Munoz, originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, obtained her PhD in electrical engineering from Cornell University in 2014. She completed her BS from Cornell as well. She currently works as the fabrication, design, and process integration lead engineer of inertial navigation systems for Garmin International in Goleta CA. Prior to working in the aviation sector, she worked extensively on the design of vacuum systems and materials characterization for semiconductor processing. She specialized in the design of sensors for electrochemical detection and neural interfaces, culminating with her graphene sensor work interfacing with the enteric nervous system of mice. When not working, Nini enjoys spending her time producing bilingual STEM content for the science communication community, taking long walks with her husband, sewing, and playing with her dog, Kona.

Anna Sherman is a Registered Psychotherapist, Maternal Mental Health Practitioner and Clinical Supervisor in Toronto. She works with individuals, couples and families, as well as supervises qualifying therapists in their training. She helps her clients to heal and overcome trauma, fears and emotional blocks in their lives and relationships by building skills and tools to help them help themselves! Dr. Karkare is the director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, designated as a level 4 center by the NAEC (National Association of Epilepsy Centers). She is board certified in Epilepsy, Child Neurology and Pediatrics. She completed her training from Children’s Hospital of Michigan, University of Michigan and New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Before joining Northwell, Dr. Karkare was the director of pediatric epilepsy surgery program at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY where she successfully established a pediatric surgical program and streamlined complex diagnostic testing that was previously not available in the region. She served on the professional advisory committee of Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana and continues to serve on the advisory board of EPICLI (exceptional partners in care Long Island). Dr. Karkare is the principal co-investigator on HEP-3 ( Human Epilepsy Project-3) trial. She has authored book chapters and has multiple publications and presentations pertaining to pediatric epilepsy. As an assistant professor at Hofstra University Medical School and the program director for Child Neurology residency, Dr. Karkare takes avid interest in teaching and training future child neurologists.

Avigail Gimpel is a mom and educator who is the author of Hyper Healing: The Empowered Parent’s Complete Guide to raising a healthy child with ADHD symptoms. Avigail received her BA from Touro college and completed her graduate studies at Touro college graduate school for Special Education in Manhattan, New York. She taught in Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway from 1995 to 1998, where she developed an intervention program for student struggling with ADHD symptoms, after which she married and made aliyah.
In Israel she earned advanced degrees in teaching reading to children with Dyslexia and cognitive education for children with ADHD symptoms.
After returning to Israel, she immersed herself in studying and developing treatment options for ADHD for her own kids and many struggling students. She collaborated with her father-in-law, Dr. Amnon Gimpel (psychiatrist and neurologist), and developed a parent training program. She then developed a teachers training program and now teaches in Hertzog college as well as lectures in Israeli schools and to parent groups all over Israel. She works in private practice, training parents to become ADHD coaches to their children and spouses to learn a new love language to communicate with respect.
She has recently published her first book “Hyper Healing,” based on many years of research and practice both as a mother of a good number of kids diagnosed with ADHD, as well as a classroom teacher of children struggling with ADHD symptoms.

Dr. Meira Abramowitz is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Attending Physician at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Weill Cornell. Dr. Abramowitz received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College in 2005 where she graduated summa cum laude, and was awarded her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 2009, where she graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha society. She completed internship and residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2012. She subsequently completed her fellowship in Gastroenteroogy at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2015. Dr. Abramowitz is a physician educator and has lectured on both regional and national levels. Dr. Abramowitz sees patients at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian both at the Upper East Side location and at the Lower Manhattan location.

Gregory A. Poland, M.D., is a physician-scientist and the founding and current director of Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group — a state-of-the-art research group and laboratory that seeks to understand genetic drivers of viral vaccine response and application of systems biology approaches to the generation of immunity, as well as the development of novel vaccines against emerging pathogens important to public health. The Poland lab developed the field of viral vaccine immunogenetics, the immune response network theory, and the field of vaccinomics and adversomics. Dr. Poland holds the academic rank of professor of medicine and infectious diseases and molecular pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. He is the Distiguished Investigator of the Mayo Clinic, and is the Editor-in-Chief for the journal Vaccine. Dr. Poland received his medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois, and completed his residency and advanced post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota. He has published over 650 professional papers and book chapters.

Jennifer Bain, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of neurology at CUIMC, in the Division of Child Neurology. Dr. Bain completed her MD and PhD at Rutgers—New Jersey Medical School and child neurology residency at Columbia University. She sees both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology patients, with special interest in behavioral neurology caring for children with developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, genetic disorders. She works closely with families to provide reasonable, scientifically sound and ethically safe treatments for children with these concerns.

Lianne Forman, a corporate and employment lawyer by training, is the Executive Director of Communities Confronting Substance Abuse (CCSA), the organization she and her husband, Etiel, founded in 2018. Through their own family’s struggles, they founded CCSA to create greater community awareness and education about substance misuse and addiction in the Jewish community. CCSA’s mission is to eliminate stigma around addiction in Jewish communities through awareness events and facilitating evidence-based educational programming in schools for students and parents about substance use. Dr. Sara Crystal MD is a board certified neurologist and (UCNS certified) headache specialist. She completed her neurology residency at NYU, where she served as a chief resident, followed by a fellowship in Headache and Facial Pain at the Montefiore Headache Center of Albert Einstein. Dr. Crystal is a neurologist at the New York Headache Center and a member of the American Headache Society and International Headache Society.

Dr. David Gorski is a surgical oncologist at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, specializing in breast cancer surgery and a professor of surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Gorski attended the University of Michigan, where he received an MD in 1988. In 1989, he entered a residency in general surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. Gorski left residency for a PhD in cellular physiology at Case Western Reserve University, completed in 1994. Dr. Gorski continued his residency (1993–96) and completed a surgical oncology research fellowship (1996–99) at The University of Chicago. He is the author of a blog, Respectful Insolence, and the managing editor of the website Science-Based Medicine, which are both “ science skeptic “ sites. Dr. Gorski has been writing about vaccine misinformation and other pseudoscience topics since 2004- prior to that, he fought Holocaust denialism.
Dr. Rebecca Pellett Madan is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and is an attending physician at the Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, where she serves as Director of Pediatric Transplant Infectious Diseases. Dr. Pellett Madan’s interest in transplantation began at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she received her MD in 2001. She completed her pediatric residency and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She developed and led the Pediatric Immunocompromised Host Program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 10 years before joining NYU in 2017. She serves as a voluntary consultant for LiveOnNY, the organ procurement organization for the New York City metropolitan area, and is a contributor to infectious diseases guidelines for the American Society for Transplantation and The Transplantation Society.

Rivki Chudnoff PT, MSPT has over twenty years of experience specializing in the treatment of women’s health-related issues and pelvic floor dysfunction, with a focus on pelvic pain, unconsummated marriages, prenatal and postpartum care, and incontinence.
Rivki has written extensively on women’s health issues and presented on pelvic health internationally at marriage retreats, community events, and to physicians and sexual educators. Rivki has worked closely with Rabbis and Kallah teachers to create specialized treatment plans that meet the religious needs of her clients.
Rivki is an instructor for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Institute, where she provides continuing education for healthcare professionals in the area of pelvic health. Rivki sees patients at her private practice in Teaneck, NJ.
As a physician specializing in Preventive Medicine, Dr. Rothschild has spent her career helping people stay healthy before they get sick. Dr. Rothschild holds an MD from the Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine and studied Mind-Body Medicine at the Benson Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard Medical School. She also holds a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. She is board certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, as well as Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine

Deena R Zimmerman MD MPH IBCLC is a physician with a lifelong love of Judaic Studies. One of the first graduates of Nishmat's Keren Ariel Program as a Yoetzet Halacha, she has authored “A Lifetime Companion to the Laws of Jewish Family Life” and “Mi Dor L’Dor: Genetics and Genetic Diseases: Jewish Legal and Ethical Perspectives", co-authored Nishmat’s on-line interactive textbooks – the Kallah Companion and the Marriage Companion and. as well as a number of articles related to women’s health issues and halacha. Dr. Sharon Stoll is a board-certified neurologist and assistant professor, in the department of neurology at Yale School of Medicine. She completed her neurology residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and her Neuroimmunology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Stoll continues to play an active role in academic development and continuing medical education. She is an investigator on several international trials and currently serves on several advisory boards. Dr. Stoll has received numerous awards including Top Neurologist 2019, Rodney Bell teaching award and is a national multiple sclerosis society grant recipient. Dr. Stoll also spent time as a medical editor at ABC news and is currently a medical commentator for several news outlets and shows including “The Doctors”. She has most recently served as the keynote speaker for the annual “Women in Science Symposium and is an internationally renowned speaker and patient advocate.

Estie Rose is a certified genetic counselor and outreach coordinator for JScreen, a national non-profit Jewish genetic disease screening program based out of Emory University School of Medicine. Estie graduated from Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women and then went on to complete her Masters in Genetic Counseling from the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She has a special interest in community education and outreach, and is proud to be a resource for individuals of her own community who are facing genetic health issues.

Diagnosed with "Atypical Development and strong autistic tendencies" and "too sick" for outpatient treatment Dr. Shore was recommended for institutionalization. Nonspeaking until 4, and with much support from his parents, teachers, wife, and others, Stephen is now a full time professor at Adelphi University and adjunct at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, focusing on aligning best practice in supporting autistic people to lead fulfilling and productive lives.
In addition to working with children and talking about life on the autism spectrum, Stephen is an internationally renowned educator, consultant and author on lifespan issues pertinent to education, relationships, employment, and self-advocacy. His most recent book College for Students with Disabilities combines personal stories and research for promoting success in higher education.
A current board member of Autism Speaks, the Organization for Autism Research (OAR), American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF), president emeritus of the Asperger/Autism Network, and advisory board member of the Autism Society, Dr. Shore also serves on the advisory boards of AANE, and other autism related organizations.

Dr. Dani Halpern is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. She works as a hospitalist for Brigham and Women's Hospital and a hospitalist/pediatric emergency room physician for Boston Children's Hospital. She also is actively involved in teaching medical students and international physicians through Harvard Medical School and Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She lives with her husband and two daughters in Sharon, MA. When not in the hospital she loves trying out new recipes, playing board games and thinking of trivia rounds.

Perri Klass is Professor of Journalism and Pediatrics at New York University and Co-Director of NYU Florence. She attended Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital, Boston.
Dr. Klass began writing about medicine and medical training when she was a medical student. She writes the weekly column, “The Checkup,” for the New York Times Science Section. She has written extensively about medicine, children, literacy, and knitting. Her new book, A Good Time to Be Born: How Science and Public Health Gave Children a Future, is an account of how victories over infant and child mortality have changed the world. Her medical journalism has appeared in a wide variety of publications, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Harvard Medicine.
Dr. Klass is the National Medical Director of Reach Out and Read, a national program which promotes early literacy through pediatric primary care, with guidance about reading aloud for parents and children’s books provided at routine well child visits. She has received numerous awards for her work as a pediatrician and educator including the 2007 American Academy of Pediatrics Education Award, which recognizes her educational contributions that have had a broad and positive impact on the health and well-being of children; the 2006 Women’s National Book Association Award; and the 2011 Alvarez Award from the American Medical Writers Association. In 2016 the American Academy of Pediatrics honored her with The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, citing the impact that she has made through her writing, service as an educator, and leadership in promoting early literacy through Reach Out and Read.
