In the ch. 1, Isaiah diagnosed Judah with spiritual blindness, ending on a positive note with the promise of restoration. Ch. 2 opens by continuing this theme with a beautiful vision of future glory that concludes with the invitation, "Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord" (v. 5) But, what does it mean to walk in the light and how is it done? Having established that Jesus is our new High Priest, we now turn to the question of what it is that a High Priest does? This question will be answered through the next several chapters, but in this expository sermon from Hebrews 8 we learn that Jesus' does the same as earthly priests, only over a better covenant based on better promises.
