Description

From Ancient Greece to Modern America, from the invention of the wheel to the invention of the smartphone, and from a time of mythology and story-telling to a time of scientific enlightenment and capitalist innovation, this podcast will be an attempt to better understand and situate current cultural, economic, and political trends in a larger framework of historical significance and potential future impact. I will also be attempting to bring back meaningful civil conversation on a wide variety of controversial topics. So join us, Drew and Jason, and lets be historically insignificant together

HOLY MOLY! Its been a minute since the OG podcast duo did an episode, but here it is and it doesn't disappoint. This episode we get into trash TV shows, cryptozoology, gross and weird foods we would eat, the Olympics, the biggest problem our society faces today, and more! (Always a diverse set of topics when your being historically insignificant). We shared a lot of laughs during this that we hope to share with you, so thank you for listening, check out past episodes and stay tuned for future ones, till next time friends!!
AYO!!! New episode out after a pretty decent break (apologies). This one does not disappoint though. Cente and I talk about 'Pokemon Go's' crazy public display, the influence of social media and technology including the uprising/resurgence of hardcore fandom, the weird situations surrounding the 2021 Toyko Olympics, the downfall of American Democracy and more! As always, historically insignificant is about having seemingly meaningful conversations in a seemingly unimpressive, unrememberable way to highlight the ironically upsetting situation we find ourselves all in. Join us in this weird, fun adventure and stay tuned for more episodes!
What's up Listeners!! This episode we do a few listener topic suggestions, rain water laws in CO and gun control arguments after the most recent mass shootings. Then our argument just starts twisting and turning around the republican party, current politics and policy, weird new stories that popped up over the week, etc. (Let's just say its one of those super historically insignificant episodes). Jason said it best near the end, we were back-shuffling up a hill the whole time and it was a great time as always. Thanks for listening, share with others if you enjoy it, and stay historificant friends.
WOW. This episode has it all, some historically insignificant back and forth about the state of the republican party, a fun conversation about the fairness of personality tests when it comes to getting a job, a quick update on a crazy murder case in Colorado, a stupid dialogue about jury's making decisions like it's groundhog's day in the court house and using public death sentences, and a little bit of Naruto Shippuden nerd talk to round it out. This was a super fun episode to record, thank you for listening, check our past and future episodes and stay gas lit historificants (What am I even saying anymore?)
Ep. 18 Policy TLDR

Ep. 18 Policy TLDR

2021-03-0231:50

Another Solo Episode brought to by satellite launched vaccines (shout-out to last episode). For this episode I went over the COVID 19 relief bill that passed the house, the calls for Cuomo's resignation, the new Internet subsidy approved by the FCC, a pricey lawsuit in Illinois over fakebook's 'tag suggestion' feature, the FBI confirming Antifa was not apart of the insurrection on the capital, and more. Give it a listen if you want to 'stay informed' and feel free to send voice messages or emails if you want to hear some TLDR break-downs of other topics!
Thank you for tuning in to another episode of historical insignificant! With my newly acquired desire to put out episodes consistently, sometimes we just turn the mics on and go and here is one of those episodes. We talk about some politics and new stories from the past week, joke about vaccines being shot from satellites, and a bunch of other stuff. Needless to say, it was super fun, stayed tuned for more, and thanks for supporting us! Posting episodes like this demonstrate, if nothing else, we are here to have a good time and share some laughs while talking about a huge range of topics.
Ep. 16 Have you Reddit?

Ep. 16 Have you Reddit?

Another week, another episode. This week we talked about subredditors taking Hedge fund money, a newly announced partnership between Ford and Google, and I guess the idea of taxation being outdated? That conversation went about as well as you think it would! This should be a fun episode to listen to so thank you for checking it out, If you enjoy the podcast, share it with others and above all thank you so much for listening and supporting something Jason and I really enjoy doing. In the weeks to come.....new guests :D?
Ep.15 Policy TLDR

Ep.15 Policy TLDR

2021-01-2641:58

Hey everyone! This week, another solo episode (thanks blizzard). I decide to talk about a few domestic and international current events/policies that struck my interest. I really enjoyed it and I hope you do too (along with it being somewhat informative). Im thinking for future solo episodes, Ill include a TLDR section that will get more and more opiniated and noisy, so if that's something you would enjoy, keep sharing and supporting these solo casts! Finally, I end the episode with an honest dialogue to further discover what 'Historically Insignificant' means and why I want to keep doing this podcast. Thanks again for listening :D!
By the time this gets posted....it will no longer be Monday.....BUT WHO CARES! Jason and I are back with our first regular episode of the year. Both of us talk about the new movies coming out in 2021 and how we can hopefully watch some of them in movie theaters again. We also throw some friendly shade towards one another about some of the movies in particular (which gets a little spicey). Finally, we end the episode with dishing about the riot that started this new year and some of our opinions on the matter. Stick around for the whole episode for a surprise, stay healthy and safe, and a solo episode should be dropping before our next regular episode if you were interested in that!

It's finally 2021 and in this new year, I have strengthened my commitment to putting out podcast episodes so without further ado, here is my first solo episode. Jason and I will continue doing the podcast together, we will continue to look for other guests, but there will probably be more of these as well. Hope you enjoy this quick ~20-minute episode where I go off a little bit about the new video game, Cyber Punk, and what I think 'Historically Insignificant' is about! Let us know if you want longer, shorter, we're flexible :D P.S. This will be a sponsored episode. In committing to do more consistent episodes, it always helps when there is more incentive than just having fun, so future episodes may also contain sponsorships.
Ep. 12 2020 Election?!

Ep. 12 2020 Election?!

2020-10-2001:06:25

With the 2020 election coming up, Jason and I take the time to get a podcast recorded where we go over the Colorado ballot. We go off on a lot of tangents...but that's the fun part! We eventually get through our ballots and have one thing to say.....MAKE SURE YOU VOTE. It's a historic election, even more so than the rest, so you should do your civic duty and make your voice heard! Furthermore, it can be a lot of fun to have crazy conversations like this one with your friends and family since the ballots go over so much. First podcast in a minute so pardon the audio issues or scattered brains :D Like we say at the end, going to be recording a live episode soon so look forward to that and we can talk with people live through chat! Till next time, stay historificant!
Come one, come all to the first episode of Historically Insignificant.....with a guest! Stu was great to have on. It was a super fun episode, especially since we haven't done one in a while so check it out! We talk about politics, creating a campaign platform, schools, history, I think we brought up social media and the news, the economy, COVID, etc. Sometimes we just keep going for it and the conversation goes where it wants to go. So thanks for listening, share with others, stay healthy and safe! p.s. If the audio in the first 30 minutes or so is too rough for you (my mic was backwards... =(....)  then definitely skip to the 31 time mark because this episode is worth the listen!
Hey Friends! This episode is a quick, spontaneous one for Jason's birthday. We were hanging out, having food and drinks, and thought.....why not put together a quick episode! So here it is. A quick half-hour would you rather episode. I will say, even though it was quick and light-hearted, this idea of asking crazy would you rather questions that you would never be faced with in real life, is part of the purpose of historically insignificant. We need to have conversations about the future, about what decisions we would make in certain situations, because over the next few decades, who knows what we will all be challenged with. We can't dive headfirst into apathy and lethargy, we need to sprint forward with determination and understanding; understanding we can learn from having historically relevant/irrelevant conversations.

Ep. X Æ A-12

2020-06-1501:34:24

This episode we talk about the protests around the country against police violence, what it means to be a 1%er in America, Elon Musk's contributions to society, and a lot more. This was a super fun episode, and even though were not really sure what were talking about or what the direction of the podcast is, we are finding out more and more every week. Thanks for the listen, share it with friends and family, and we will see you next week. P.S. Apologies for the delay on this episode, this COVID is making work crazy around here!!
2  Episodes in one day!! What?? Yes! This was an extremely fun podcast where Jason and I, in light of memorial day weekend, in light of everyone's stress surrounding our current situation, wanted to put out an episode our audience can really sink their teeth into. A friendly game of would you rather where historificance is seen throughout! We will probably do this in the future, so let us know if you liked it on twitter @historificant or to historicallyinsignificantQ+A@gmail.com. Some of the results really shocked Jason and I so it would be super cool to hear your opinions. Thanks for giving us a listen, check out previous episodes, share with others, and get excited for what is to come!

This episode was super fun to do. Cente and I are roommates and when I asked if he would want to do the podcast to make sure we are still getting regular content out, he was excited and ready to go. In the future, we will be bringing guests in for Jason and me to interview or record with, but due to scheduling conflicts, it's just us this episode. We talk about sports that we use to play, the future of sports especially during this pandemic, and more. Audio is still a little messed up since we are not using the regular studio software, but I think it's still really worth listening too. We're going to keep looking for historificant topics to talk about, thank you for listening, share with others, and see you next episode!
This week was full of crazy stories in the news. Apparently there was a coup against Maduro in Venezuela? There was a black man in Georgia who was not only wrongfully murdered, but the DA and others ignored the case for 3 months until the general public saw what happened. Congress voted to limit the President's war powers in relation to Iran, then immediately folded once he vetoed the bill. The President's tax returns are finally under the review of the supreme court. Michael Flynn's charges were dropped by the Department of Justice. We found out there is no limit to what people will name their children in the case of Elon Musk's new son, X Æ A-12....  and so much more! Jason and I needed some time to rant and what better place than in the studio of Historically Insignificant. This week, if you are feeling overwhelmed, take some time to rant to a friend about something that just hit home for you. We're confident they have their soapbox as well. That's part of having meaningful conversations. What you think is significant or not or being overlooked affects your mental health greatly so take some time, to grant someone some rant time.
Historificance?

Historificance?

2020-04-2501:25:13

This episode we talked about all things foreign policy. We touched on the current presidential race, current events such as the leader of North Korea's sudden illness and Iranian ships circling American Naval vessels, and much more. If you are a worldo, please take a listen and share with friends and family!! We had a lot of fun putting this episode together, we will probably do more on the same topic over the next few months given everything going on, and we would appreciate any feedback or comments. You can email us at historicallyinsignificantQ+A@gmail.com or drop a line at our twitter @historificant. Also stop by the streams, https://www.twitch.tv/jsleezy_stream and https://www.twitch.tv/toomuchtripp where we are working on growing our streaming communities for future podcast content and more. Love me some world affairs!! Till next time.
This week we talk about President Trump and the economy, the new Riot Games Tactical Shooter Valorant, meme culture surrounding this Corona Virus, and more. Give us a listen, share with friends and family, there is no better time to consume random content and if you tell us you haven't listened because you don't have enough time.....We're going to call bullshit. So until next week, hope you and yours stay healthy.
Hey everyone! This episode was truly a pleasure. We turned the mics on, had no idea what we would be talking about, and had an amazing time. We touched on social media stuff, we talked about the military and the public's perception of them, we talked about the current COVID19 pandemic, we talked about video games and entertainment, and so much more.  We aren't totally sure which style of conversation we should do more often, when it comes to structured or un-structured episodes, so please leave a voice message or shoot us an email at InsignificantQandA@gmail.com with what you liked and didn't like. We know we want to do more episodes like this since they past the time so much, but we are truly open to anything and want to continue growing our base of listeners. You will continue to help guide where this podcast goes, and furthermore, don't forget that all we are here to do is be historically insignificant. Have fun conversations that touch on controversial topics without any stakes or any judgement. Till the next episode, stay safe and healthy out there.
