Jessica Hogarth is Surface pattern designer and now has her own shop! She’s based in the coastal town of Whitby North Yorkshire coast So many creatives ask me what the best route is in getting their products in shops? How do they get their designs in stores? Jessica's ranges have been stocked on the shelves of Fortnum & Mason, Liberty of London, Oliver Bonas, Paperchase, Daunt Books, Paper Source (USA) and Scribbler, amongst many other independent outlets. She also retails her designs on Etsy, shipping orders to customers worldwide all year round. We talk about trade shows, the importance of multiple income streams and opening a shop through Covid. Jessica Takeaways 1.If you’re doing a fair if trade show its cheaper I the long to do a few that season 2.Helping support your creative friends as part of your journey is so rewarding 3.Doing a blog is still 15 years on worth your time - searchable Google content will lead viewers straight to your website 4.Having different income streams is vital for your business 5.Yes covid is scary time to start and open a business but there’s so many positives, just Google how many famous company’s started in rescissions 6.There isn’t a constant balance, it just doesn’t exists so instead of looking for that, after the busy season where you’ve gone all in, why not schedule a down time phase 7.Schedule your creative days each week or month, if we aren’t mindful time can slip by 8.Fill out a weekly time sheet to see where your time is spent so you can know what’s best for scheduling out in the future 9.Get someone to do the jobs you’re not as good at or you don’t want to spending time doing.   Connect with Jessica  https://jessicahogarth.com/ https://www.instagram.com/jessicahogarth/
Singer-songwriter and Sound bath healer Lisa Murdoch, uses her pain as her big message through her breathtakingly impactful songs. Lisa left her place at a highly sought-after music degree at Manchester university after feeling unaligned and generally out of saughts, then covid hit and before long her anxiety got worse, to the point she would no longer leave her house. Going through this painfully dark season would break most, but Lisa kept searching, learning, partying and surrounding she started to take night-time walks in the woods, and this is where her music came to her once again. Only this time so much had changed. Lisa has stepped into an unapologetic badass of the woods who loves to turn heads with her art. Lisa’s energy I found like Kate Bush and Bork – sweet pure but make no mistake completely ahead of us all. I can’t wait to see Lisa take over the charts with her gifts! Lisa's Takeaways 1.    Follow zero people on your Instagram - you get to decide you you’re exposed too 2.    Surround yourself with different perspectives. 3.    Spiritual awakenings aren’t easy 4.    Call your ‘breakdown a transformation but that’s what it truly is 5.    Getting quiet and going within is quite normal as there is a lot to process 6.    Any shift like a breakdown, or anxiety to not leave the house can make us go into blame but that’s the ego brain keeping us small, we have to be selfish at that point as it takes up all of the head space and we might not have articulated it. 7.    Look at your ancestral roots it might be the connection and feeling of belonging you need for the permission of what you’re naturally drawn to 8.    Even though we are proud of our roots and authenticity, growing up but growing up we need to see people who reflect us. As it’s in our survival makeup 9.    Get to the woods Trees have so much for the senses not just visual either 10. A message from the heart goes straight through the heart 11.  Words have power – we fear the word witch why aren’t they afraid of the men who drowned the witches?   Links Lisa Murdoch Spotify https://open.spotify.com/artist/1mEb5jFImvZxRYjwgsVtH3?si=KaURBcWkQN2gSzpbLT2Aow Insta handle  www.instagram.com/itslisamurdoch   Emma Isaacs https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk/create-your-calm https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk
We are super excited this week to talk about all things Surface Pattern with Australia's finest watercolour artist, surface pattern course creator and creative mentor.  And if that's not enough Cass talks about the importance of getting quiet and allowing your unique creative style to come through you. This process she believes is a highly spiritual, creative flow state is only entered when we allow for the space. This of course doesn't just happen, there is lots of mess in between the day job before the pivot. We talk about the huge gap between being a student again and allowing yourself to learn and building the runway before you jump ship. You're going to love this talk (hashtag just saying)   Cass Takeaways: 1.     Look at what you absolutely love first, what makes you not look at your phone, what can you talk about all day?  Follow that passion– the business will come after. 2. You don’t have to jump ship, build your runway first. 3.  The pivot is a huge change for you and your family, remember this when you’re feeling all of the fear, it’s all possible, but you have to respect it takes time. 4.  Don’t put all of the ownership to pay your bills with this new creative venture. Try to have an income stream that’s low maintenance on your head space,  to leave room for ‘the playfulness and curiosity energy of your new venture. 5.   Look at evergreens you could launch for your business that’s not a direct equal swap for your time and money. 6.   Your work holds energy, and we can feel that even online. Play and design before you read your emails. 7.   We are consuming so much information, be mindful about what distractions you have without noticing i.e. scrolling, the news. 8.  Practice being by yourself we need to get quiet to listen 9.  Following the breadcrumbs takes trust, listen to your inner knowing nobody knows 100% if it’s going to work, but if you know and start your day armed with your ‘Why’ you will naturally seek the right opportunities.  10.  Get clear on what it is you want to change, meditate, journal, and shout it out into your mirror, you get to decide and change through manifesting, but being intentional takes daily reminders to yourself. Your inner knowing is spiritual which is creativity too but you need to get quiet to hear her and your intuition. 11.  Your mindset controls EVERYTHING. You’re the director of your whole life. 12.  Being ‘too sensitive’ is a superpower for your creativity. You will only birth your signature style if you’re listening to what wants to come through you.   Links Cass Deller www.cassdeller.com.au https://www.instagram.com/cassdellerdesign/    Emma Isaacs: Grab your place at our next and last 2023 creative retreat https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk/create-your-calm https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk Labour and Parenting book Birthing Skills by Juju Sundin
Joe Russo is a successful entrepreneur who has a great ability to make things happen and find ways around problems. He is passionate about making a difference and it is of the utmost importance that Joe leaves his mark with whoever he works with and whatever area he works in. Due to Joe's cultural background and the barriers, he faced as a youngster due to having severe dyslexia, he has perfected the art of creating human connections that bring about change and success. 'I'm especially passionate about bringing out the best from a lost cause. Many people in society are marginalised because of their background or, like me, are dyslexic. However, there is always hope and with the right help, support and creative thinking, change happens.' Joe offers support to businesses in areas such as creating connections, dyslexia awareness and developing a successful culture. He is currently working all over the country, working with huge initiatives such as Oasis UK and Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44.   Joe’s Takeaways 1. It’s the systems that try to pack us into groups – we are all different and so should we be. 2. What would the world look like, if every child was treated with kindness and compassion? 3. Trauma passes down 5 generations If left alone unworked. 4. If we all took the time to read about Trauma and act through this lens, would this be enough to shift mindsets? 5. Children are individual humans, they don’t need to be caught up in old systems that aren’t serving our communities. 6. We all need human connection. 7. Remember, junk food industries spend lots of money on studies to make sure no human connection means unhealthier unsociable choices. 8. Exclusion Is abusive 9. What’s your mission? Go back and check to see if your purpose and values are still aligned with your daily actions.   Joe’s Links  https://project-connect.uk Joe Russo TED X Talk https://youtu.be/uWG6B7pMtj8   Resources  Circadian wellness - https://www.sarahkleinerwellness.com Joe Dispenser - https://drjoedispenza.com

Daniel says 'the solution is as simple as the sun. How can you see the sun when your vision is clouded by fear, by doubt? and even though we know these clouds pass, we trudge and move through the haze, alternating somewhere between surrender and self-sabotage, until we catch a little glimmer of the sun. We are no different to this Sun, we rise we set even when it's clouded, we should trust this, it's been there the whole time.' Artist Daniel of 'This is Color me Crazy' is an extremely talented creator and a very funny spiritual guy who takes his precious life and being aligned so seriously, he left his life in New York to back to his homeland Porta Rico and now runs daily mediation meetups and he has the most amazing in retreat in Costa Rica coming up in March 2023!  Daniel’s Takeaways The old way of creating and doing business is old news – words don’t teach, experience does Make your life. The movie you want to have and see You don’t need great resources, you can create just with your phone All you need is you and your passion – that’s more powerful than millions who don’t have this energy. Passion is infectious Feeling abundant is not about being super rich 6. If you fail at something, try something else 7. Well come here wanting something, when the light is outs it’s probably because you don’t have that purpose 8. The truest conversation you will always have with yourself is the delta brain waves are – the subconscious rewire programming that happens when we are in between a dream and an awake mindset Sitting and enjoying the quiet is a calm powerful feeling you’ve set first for yourself If you’re worried about something its either from your past or your future and it's just not needed or helpful Look at breath work it’s everything Meditating should be easy, go on YouTube for meditating sounds and follow your breath Get out of your head and into your body We aren’t ever going to fix our family or anyone We don’t need to talk about the past and wear it as a heavy suit, talking about how bad we have had it The universe only understands energy and vibration not words Waiting for others to fix themselves is a fast route to being hurt and let down. Spend time fixing yourself A deliberate creator means We are programming all of the time, we can reprogram our body when we dance and have fun, we create more joy, its not about the looking good, its always about the feeling Links  https://colormecrazy.info Costa Rico Retreat  https://trips.trovatrip.com/trips/costa-rica-with-daniel-colon-apr-2023 Black Friday deals -Work with Emma Isaacs  https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk

Hello gorgeous souls! Today's episode comes to you from the IGNITE Q&A vault! I’ve recently realized that I share so many powerful lessons during my live Q&A sessions and I am feeling called to share them here on the Creative Ways podcast. Today’s topic is about the biggest question I hear a lot and we've all asked at the beginning, 'Emma where and what are the signs, the nudges? What if I miss them?' So as always ill shut up and let's dive in!  Speaking of creating from a place of alignment... Hello gorgeous souls! Today's episode comes to you from the IGNITE Q&A vault! I’ve recently realized that I share so many powerful lessons during my live Q&A sessions and I am feeling called to share them here on the Creative Ways podcast. Today’s topic surrounds the feeling of unworthiness and stepping into our feminine creative divine, and what it's like to sit next to ego without allowing it to be in charge. Keeping it at bay so it works with us. So as always ill shut up and let's dive in!  Speaking of creating from a place of alignment... Sandra Gale left her really cool  ‘safe’ job as a stationery designer in Brisbane Australia to fully back herself with her stunning brand. Sandra created vibrant whimsy females to ‘celebrate the amazing, perfectly imperfect women we know and love  Sandra’s art & gifts have taken off, in just 12 months, her prints, T-shirts and candles are sold in many stores across Australia!   Sandra shows up at many markets plus she’s created a life with the perfect mix of running art workshops and lecturing at a university too.  Oh, and did I mention she started all of this in lockdown?  Sandra’s Takeaways    1. Mature students and graduates offer great value to a  studio, they have lots of skills and established life practices. There’s no straight path, just follow the breadcrumbs You don’t have professional experience in your field, everyone has skills they can bring to the table – a can-do attitude is more important  Your personality and attitude matter, show positivity and lightness and get stuck in whatever the task no matter what. If you have a dream that scares you, set a date, tell others don’t wait to be ready, you won’t ever feel sorted.  6. Your business is yours but, it will impact the whole family, deadlines, and trade shows, so make sure you’re intentional with  sharing the downtime  Doesn’t matter what creative path you’re on, we all have  the same imposter syndrome, and insecurities we were shamed at a young age for being sensitive and those ideas that an artist is a loner or  Morning pages are a great way to brain dump the weeds, the story o repeat, and get clearer by writing 3 pages when your first week is up. It clears your head for the clear inspired energy. Always add 20 % of the time to any deadline. Daring to jump is of course what we need, but build your runway before you jump. Look back on your word of the year and see if it aligns  The great resignation is a time in history when we will look back and see people re-evaluating their paths, and realising working for retirement isn’t a forefilled life. Give yourself permission to do it ‘scrappy’ showing up regardless gets the task done. Entrepreneurs have to have a support system that gets the terminology and knows the daily challenges and obstacles we have to work through. 14 . If you can’t get a coach, make sure you have a mentor in some way, you will find if you send the right questions many will love to give advice for free to help in some way. Passion is infectious – All humans from all communities and tribes go to an elder or master, and we are no different. Steph Thannhauser has been a freelance designer for over 25 years. She’s known for creating designs for many different products, illustrating kids’ books, creating art for magazines and creating patterns for sewing fabrics. She loves her job and feels so lucky to be doing what she loves but four years ago she was getting sick of her own company. Yes, she loved designing but was fed up of sitting by herself every day so started to think of what she could do to change things up. She didn’t want to stop working on creative projects with clients but she wanted her working life to have a more sociable component. Steph says ‘Have you heard the expression “ask the universe for what you want and make your wishes come true”? Well, she did ask and she started to get messages requesting beginners’ sewing classes so she thought that’s what she’ll do. It’s sociable plus there is the added bonus that she can use her own fabric designs in class and share those and she got paid for her skill and experience too.   She’s now taught 65 people to sew in face-to-face classes but wants to reach more people so is taking her classes online.   If you want to start your sewing journey with Steph you can join her free Beginners Sewing Sew and Grow with Steph Bootcamp which is running on the 28th and 29th September.   Sign up here https://stephanie-thannhauser.mykajabi.com/masterclass-2-d95919d9-a2ce-47f7-8a6c-994c9599bd0d www.stephthannahauser.com https://www.facebook.com/stephthannhauserdesigner/ https://www.instagram.com/stephthannhauser/
The extremely talented Jacqueline Wild is absolute proof that we can manifest a life with what we are really after … freedom  time to play, surf, wild sea swimming, explore kelp forest cycle and sleep under the stars in Cornwall where she left her capital city life in London to sleeping under the stars in Cornwall.   Jacqueline and her childhood sweetheart Dal followed the whispers and spent their 20’s and 30’s travelling the country in their campervan working the festivals.   Both have created a life that is full of freedom and joy and working with the Laws of the Universe around their toddler in their life in Cornwall   Dal has a cacao business ‘Food of the Gods’ you can find him at Sennen Cove market and many Cornish farmer markets.   Jacqueline’s degree is in English, labelled the writer out of the two sisters growing up and not the artist. This trust and working with the universe meant that she knew she could try her hand at illustration and boy has it worked! She now has two tiers to her business, selling her prints as products physically at markets and Etsy and designing for an agent. Jackeline’s Takeaways We can’t all swim wildly or surf, but you can find a moment each day alone, under the bridge away from anyone else to hear your inner thoughts, this is what most people are afraid of, it’s the only way we can heal, and we can only create our best art when we are listening Prioritise hobbies – it’s important for our inner creative souls/ our inner being Follow the feeling then you can follow the breadcrumbs correctly If that feeling seems too frisky – off track, for example, finding a forest or diving for kelp, remember we are creative beings, this is what lights us up! Energy meets energy, go shift yours before putting pen to paper Shamanic practices like cord cutting are extremely powerful in letting go of the energies that have held you back Links https://creativesparrow.co.uk/creatives/jacqueline-wild Www.Instagram.com/glitter_earth Www.glitterandearth.Etsy.com Www.glitterandearth.com www.foodofthegods.org.uk/about.html www.emmaisaacs.co.uk www.instagram/emmaisaacsdesigns
Not only is Gee Scales writing his 3rd book planned to be printed this September, Gee is proof that following the whispers, and surrendering is the absolute only path to the creative life within you. Gee has always loved wood and creating and designing 3d materials but he didn't know how or where to best carve out life using his talents. Growing up in inner-city Nottingham, Gee became a father at 19 which meant their many memories of himself and his then-wife, despite feeling like kids themselves, pushing through regardless. Of course, they both have fantastic careers, and Gee tells us their children are out studying them by far! But as it often is on this creative oath, that’s just one thread but that’s just one thread... Gee got made redundant 3 times – finally, he took the nudge from the universe that he’s got so much more to offer the world! At 36 Gee studied to be a Teacher! 12 years on, Gees now carved a life which consists of designing 3D prints at home, extreme sports 'Avid gamer, movie and TV buff and self-professed geek. I'm a lover of all things technology-related and he refuses to grow up. Fast Forward is his second novel. Yes, you read that correctly. Gee is constantly following his passions, tweaking, and learning along the way. I can’t wait for you to hear his story! https://www.nintendo.destructoid.com/thwomp-cartridge-holder/ ) www.geescales.com

The images they created not only showed their inclusions but their genetic/lab make-up and raw patterning.   Brittain Takeaways Follow the feeling, your passion has the biggest most exciting energy Your business might not be your first idea, but that’s ok, it evolves with you Do it scared and scrappy, not many creatives know how to do a website! No one was born knowing social media- let’s face it no one knows at the minute either Would you wear our art?   Tagging your art to a life adventure gives your art more electric  energy Markets are the best research for your customers – you get to hear what customers Surround yourself with the energy you want your business to attract How do you want customers to feel? Have you been convinced that the Law of Attraction works for everyone but YOU? You know what you SHOULD be doing, but feel like you're lying or worse still you feel shame because you're not thinking happy thoughts ALL OF THE TIME? There's an extremely toxic materialistic trend around manifestation at the minute. It can get frustrating when we can’t manifest what we want, we try vision boards, visualisation technics, journaling and much more but don’t realise that we can be actively blocking and worse - harming the attraction of our desires.  So of course I thought its time to explain to you the real reason why... There is much more than ONE law of the universe. These 12 laws are based on quantum. When it comes to manifesting through the law of attraction people are unsuccessful because they completely abandon the 11 other universal laws!  Check out my 4-week live interactive programme  'Sell with heart and Soul' Module one is a complete immersive deep dive into the 12 universal laws. https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk/heart-and-soul
Micheal Clements has followed that feeling down the winding road as an artist, he’s been a magazine editor in Washington DC, an actor which lead him to work on films with Jackie Chan in Hong Kong, all the while trusting the hear and now and not questioning the outcome. Micheal is not only the owner and founder of ArtJamz but he is also an outsider artist who has exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Washington DC We go deep in this conversation about artist sensitive intuition and nurturing this superpower. its ok to have lots of different creative paths you've tried, it will fall into play later in life when you work out what you want to try with ease, not with struggle. Micheal Clements Takeaways  1. What did you make as a kid 2. What did you instinctively do? Make films? Fashion books – that’s what you’re  inner creative child Is 3. The layers are hiding your true path 4. You won’t always see where it’s going straight away  - The business ideas percolate over years – can be 10 years later, 5. The answer, who you are is within you, only you can rediscover it   6. That amazing feeling that lights you up – is so rare in our lives, we have to follow that thing! That’s the thing – now watch the serendipity that follows 8. The power of serendipity is when you follow the ha-ha moments and watch the dots connect. 9. We are so big on the outcome and not the feelings – the flow 10. Art and intuition was around before words 11. Keep on creating - We need more art in the world Links  https://www.artjamz.co/about-us
