What’s your spirit like when no one’s watching? Have you let bitterness take root, or do you strive to keep a soft heart before the Lord? Are you guarding your attitude and demeanor—or just going through the motions of the Christian life? The truth is, what’s happening in our hearts matters just as much as what’s happening in our actions. In this episode from the 2025 North Florida Baptist Ladies Conference, Bethany French speaks directly to the inward struggles Christian women often face. With wisdom, grace, and tons of Scripture, she warns against the devastating pitfalls that can harden our hearts—bitterness, pride, resentment—and urges listeners to keep the way clear between themselves and God. This message is a much-needed reminder that a right spirit isn’t optional—it’s essential for walking closely with Christ. Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app! Does prayer really change things—even from a bed no one visits, in a town no one knows? Can one unseen woman truly alter the course of a preacher’s ministry across the ocean? We often underestimate the reach of a praying heart. But what if the most powerful revivals didn’t start in pulpits—but in prayer closets? What if the greatest spiritual movements were sparked by the faith of someone the world forgot? In this episode, Tracie and Abigail share the extraordinary story of Marianne Adlard, a bedridden woman in England whose deep burden and unrelenting prayer led to a supernatural encounter with the famed evangelist D. L. Moody. Though unable to leave her room, her petitions reached Heaven—and God responded in ways that only He could orchestrate. This incredible true account will stir your faith and remind you that no place is too small, and no prayer too quiet, for God to use in a mighty way.If you know of someone who can be helped by listening to the Abundant Living Podcast, please share this episode with them. What does it mean to serve God when no one else joins you? In seasons of loneliness, unanswered prayers, or quiet obedience, it can feel like your faithfulness is unnoticed. But what if your steadfast devotion is laying a foundation for something far greater—something eternal? This episode features an inspiring session from the 2025 North Florida Baptist Ladies Conference, where Abigail Medford brings a compelling message on “Serving God Alone.” Drawing a powerful comparison between the stories of Elijah and Elisha and the little-known testimony of Chinese missionary Jeanie Lawson, Abigail reveals how faithfulness—though sometimes unseen—can ripple through generations. Whether you're in a season of standing alone or simply need encouragement to press on, this message will remind you that God sees, God knows, and God uses even our quiet obedience for His glory.Mark your calendars for April 10–11, 2026, and make plans to attend the North Florida Baptist Ladies Conference! What could God do with your words—your simple offering—if you gave them fully to Him? Can your quiet acts of obedience echo long after you’re gone? We often think impact requires a platform, a name, or a following. But what if God is writing a story through your life that you won’t fully see until eternity? Faithfulness doesn’t always get noticed here on earth, but in God’s hands, it can ripple across generations and reach places you never imagined. In this episode, Tracie and Abigail uncover the beautiful story of Elizabeth Clephane, a humble Scottish woman whose poem would become one of the most beloved hymns of the 19th century. Unknown during her lifetime, her words were discovered years after her death by Ira Sankey, the gifted soloist who traveled with D. L. Moody. The hymn quickly became a favorite at the great Moody Revival Crusades, stirring hearts and drawing countless souls to Christ. This moving account reminds us that God can take even the quietest offerings and write them into eternity. Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app! What is your "higher ground?" Are you pressing forward or settling for what's comfortable? God’s work deserves more than mediocrity—it demands sacrifice, faith, and a willingness to serve even when no one notices. So ask yourself: how far are you willing to go for the cause of Christ? In Part 2 of Emma Revell Moody’s story, Tracie and Abigail explore how Emma faithfully supported her husband’s global evangelistic ministry—not from a platform, but through prayer, organization, and behind-the-scenes service. From handling correspondence to managing their home during his long absences, Emma lived with purpose and quiet strength, even through her own personal storms and tragedies. Though history remembers D. L. Moody, this episode reminds us of the often unseen, unrelenting labor that furthers the cause of Christ. You’ll walk away inspired by her example and challenged to say, "Lord, lead me to higher ground!"Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app! What kind of strength and faith would it take for a wife and mother to face down one of the most devastating fires in American history, with her children’s lives hanging in the balance? In this episode, Tracie and Abigail dive into the inspiring early life of Emma Revell Moody—the devoted wife of D. L. Moody. Born in England and raised in America, Emma came from a strong Baptist heritage. She first met Moody at just 15 years old at a church meeting, never knowing that one day, she would be by his side as he reached millions for Christ. With Moody away preaching and flames quickly consuming the city, Emma must act with wisdom and courage to save her children—and then find her way back to support her husband and help others in desperate need.Don’t miss Part 2 next week in Episode #132 as we continue the story of Emma Moody’s extraordinary life—her influence behind the scenes, her sacrifice and personal heartbreak, and the powerful role she played in D. While many have heard of D. L. Moody—the world-famous evangelist who shook two continents for Christ—few know the story of the woman who shaped him behind the scenes: his mother, Betsy Moody. In this episode, Tracie and Abigail explore the remarkable life of a mother who quietly built a legacy of faith. Left a widow with nine young children, Betsy faced hardship and poverty, yet never lost her joyful spirit or her unwavering love for her family. Her strength, humility, and devotion laid the foundation for her son’s powerful ministry. And in a surprising twist, it was her own son’s preaching that led her to place her trust in Christ later in life. Betsy's story is one of enduring love, spiritual courage, and the kind of quiet faithfulness that truly changes the world—one child at a time. Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app! What does prayer really mean to you? Do you believe in it enough to take bold steps to grow your prayer life in a way that truly gets God’s attention? What if your greatest impact for Christ wasn’t through a pulpit or a platform, but through private, persistent, personal prayer? In this episode, Tracie interviews Joy Wruck, a woman whose life is marked by the power of intercession. Joy shares how she has committed to praying regularly and specifically for all 50 of her family members—by name and with intention. She opens up about how prayer has shaped her heart, guided her decisions, and drawn her closer to the Lord through every season of life. Her story is a stirring reminder that God still honors the quiet faith of those who seek Him diligently, and that a strong prayer life can be one of the most powerful ministries a Christian can have. Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app! In the work of God, it is so easy to see what we are doing as "good" and "acceptable" and to be content with it, especially if we are comparing our work to those around us. However, what if we instead asked ourselves, "Even if it's good, what COULD I be doing that I'm not? How do I level up what I'm doing for God right now?"In this episode, Tracie is joined by Cindy Healy, whose ministry life in indelibly marked by excellence. Anyone that knows Cindy knows she does not ever settle for "just okay." She shares her tips and tricks, along with valuable wisdom from working with people, on how to level up in our personal areas of responsibility. She challenges us to always be looking for ways to learn and grow so that those around us will be inspired to attain new levels in their own lives. Then, through all this, the cause of Christ can be furthered and the Lord can be more glorified. Are we will to level up?Please let us know what you think by rating and reviewing this podcast in your podcasting app!
