In this episode Becky and Briony are chatting with Alison, an Occupational Therapist who is based in the north east of England and works on an ATU. A typical day for Alison consists of meetings, assessments and report writing, and interventions. She is sensory trained and within her service she has lots of autonomy and opportunity to develop occupational therapy service. She is also involved in leading positive and safe strategies on the ward, clinically supervises activity coordinators, provide sessions into local uni OT programme, attends local schools and support groups to advocate for OT, and provides sensory awareness training.
