A sweet little baby episode, heres to hoping it brightens your day.
More content for your little ears. Check out a few of my all time life lessons, the things I wish I knew when I was 17 .. or 24 .. or .. last year lol
We're back! It's been four months, but we're back with a solo episode! All things .. Labyrinth. If you don't know what that is well, listen up!   I started a new online curated Instagram for secondhand, vintage, and antique home decor! What a whirlwind it has been and I can't wait to share all the dirty details with you guys. Enjoy!
As a PhD Student in neuropsychology, Nawal has been producing evidence based content on her Instagram page @thebraincoach for the last year - AND IS CRUSHING IT. With nearly 300K Nawal's voice is being broadcasted worldwide! If you are looking for an episode that is going to empower you - this is the one. Nawal not only opens up about her personal experience as an immigrant and feeling like an outcast, but also about how it got her to where she is today. This conversation also focuses on the power of individual choice in navigating mental health practices, how to tackle failure, the difference between self-esteem and self-worth AND MORE!
Sitting down with Alex AKA "Fresh" of the Fresh, Slick, & Mick podcast was truly eye opening. As I began to learn more about Alex's story I started to see my own life in a new way, privileges I never gave much attention to. Growing up in an abusive home is not something everyone experiences, and I feel extremely honoured that Alex was willing to share his story here on the Lemon Soul podcast. As he mentions during our conversation, without diving deep and walking through these heavy topics, nothing changes. I am so grateful to share this story and remind all the men listening, perhaps struggling with their own mental health, that you aren't alone and there IS help out there. A huge thank you to Alex for teaching us today that maintaining good mental health is an ongoing practice and one worth working for.
Sitting down with Ola was a dream come true. As we discussed food waste across the world, Ola explains the importance of why places like Kindness Cafe must exist. A brilliant and boundless idea from a powerful Egyptian woman making a difference right here in our community in Canada. Not only was I amazed by her business ideas, but held captive by her immense love for the human experience. Ola is one of a kind, an absolute sweetheart with so many resonating and inspirational messages during this episode - don't miss out!
Stoked to sit down with Tia on this episode as we discuss the incredible heart, mind, and body dedication that she has given to the Windsor Circus School. Not only do we talk about the physicality of it all, but the mental barrier that many people are confronted with when they first begin! Tia unravels what it is like to not only be an athlete in this world, but how to be a coach .. and an incredible one at that. PLUS we get to talk all things travel as we dive deeper into Tia's personal life where she lived in Malaysia, stood in the smoke during the burning of the palms, and how talking to people across the world has given her such a gracious amount of knowledge and respect for the human experience. LEGGO!
Sitting down with Alysse from Bad Babes Nail Co. is EVERYTHING I could have asked for. Alysse is the human embodiment of badass, not only because she goes after what she wants, but because she does it with a heart full of gold. Get ready for some realness on this episode as we discuss the array of business challenges Alysse has face in her life and how she approaches everything with a fierce, no bullshit attitude. From baby bows, to cotton candy, t-shirts, to fierce-as-fuck nails .. she has done it ALL. I promise after you're done listening, you are going to want her as your new best friend.
On this episode with Nick from @actuallysougly & @theuglyaesthetics we cover so much! Nick opens up about his unique perspective as having been a bully and having been bullied. We talk boundary setting, what it’s like to work with kids, how to handle trolls online (and in real life!), and we get to know all about what Nick really wants in life. I am so grateful to have met Nick many years ago and even more grateful to be able to reconnect and admire his work now.
It's 2020 and we meet people on TikTok now! When I first saw Jay's content online I not only fell in love with his music, but with the fact that he wasn't faking his way through some perfect lens online. I am so glad that he agreed to do the podcast and give his two cents about "making it" in such a tough industry as a country artist. Not only do we talk music, writing and his big Netflix opportunity - but Jay opens up about his views on relationships, love, and how the connection you make with those online is the biggest thing that matters. Staying authentic online has allowed Jay to regrow his following in the most genuine way, here is an artist who truly cares about making a connection with his followers and showcasing all sides of who he is! I can't wait for ya'll to hear Jason Maxwell for the first time in an interview, uncut! Check it out now!
Dropping a little Five Question Friday on you! Check it out to hear my answers to these awesome questions from people like YOU! Be sure to follow along on my Instagram @lemonsoulstudios for the next opportunity to get your questions in!  We cover:  1. How did I get through dark times? 2. How does my creativity happen - slow burn or quick spark? 3. What am I most proud of? 4. What were the best and worst parts of my 20s? 5. Who was I in a former life?
Our first ever quarantine podcast "over the internet" style! Sitting down with Alley is always a sure fire way to feel invigorated and at ease all at the same time. On this episode, Alley opens up as we discuss wondering if we've suffered enough to validate our artistic expression. What do we really deserve from this life? Who gets to decide whether what we do is valid, relatable or even just plain good? Not only does Alley remind us that we are all allowed to explore our artistic expression, but she encourages us to go after whatever we want. In addition, Alley talks about the launch of her new business "Grown Lady Garments" and how her passions for sustainable living created this beautiful brand! So much love for this woman, a voice to be reckoned with!
I sent out a post on Instagram requesting episode titles at random and said I would make content from that title alone! Thanks to Kiara for this one, "Identifying With The New Not Okay" helped me get a little deep on how I am dealing with COVID-19 and the rollercoaster of emotions with it. Sending love ya'll - we're all in this together!
Hanging with Tony at the Garage Gym was such a blast! This episode is jam packed with information and inspiration! From Tony's 19 year career on the police force to leaving his pension and benefits to open the Garage Gym - he is FULL of motivation on how to take hold of your life, listen to your instincts, and take care of you - mentally and physically! So thankful I got the chance to sit down and learn from the master himself. Windsor sure is an amazing place to be!
Back at it again with a solo episode on authenticity and honesty online. A topic near and dear to my heart the further I dive into the social media "platform" I have built. Why is being real online important? Who needs to be real? Why do I bother sharing the good, bad and the ugly? Listen up to find out!
