As some of you may know, Janie is the founder and creator at The Lucky Sixpence, a business supplying ‘Unique Accessories For The Fearless’. She adores using original artefacts, that once served a purpose, and carried a story to provide a sense of depth and beauty to every piece that leaves her workshop. Our conversations today do stray a little ‘left field’ you could say, as we touch on the ideas of meditation, mindfulness and how to navigate life with the help of the universe. I suggest listening to this with an open mind, as we also dive into the topic of mindset in business and how to manoeuvre ‘burn out’, with a nod to spirituality. Being a member of The Wedding Business Club herself, Janie also speaks of the things she saw and experienced during my ‘Flow Method Workshop’, and how this affected her processes as a business owner. You can find Janie’s work on her website https://www.theluckysixpence.co.uk and connect with her on Instagram at @thelucky6pence .

TW: in this episode, we talk about weight and body confidence In today’s episode, I speak with Wedding Business Club member Sally Jackson about all things bridal confidence and positivity. Coming from a senior role in healthcare and nursing, Sally has always had an urge to help and coach people through illness. Alongside strong interests in the mind & body, this led to her pursuing this coaching idea further into a new career path… with brides! Being a bride can be stressful, and of course, you want to look amazing on your big day, but there comes a point where the stress surrounding appearance can spiral into anxiety and dread: a place we, of course, do not want our clients to be. We discuss why these feelings can arise, and how we can deal with them, whether they stem from childhood or are passed on from an unwelcome comment from an in-law. My Wedding Godmother works with brides who are suffering with their body image and teaches acceptance, empowerment, trust & admiration within themselves. The discussion goes beyond how she works her magic, but to how we can also make a difference as suppliers. Sally provides tips and tricks on working with our low-confidence brides and things we should and shouldn’t encourage as trusted suppliers. A big hello, and a warm welcome to the new season of The Wedding Business Podcast! I am beyond excited to be back and I am so looking forward to chatting about all things business and the wedding industry once again. We’re kicking off this 5th season by talking about the many hangover weddings that are still in play, climbing Kilimanjaro and even taking enquiries for 2026-2027 (crazy... right?). Alongside this, we also touch on the current state of the wedding industry in its busiest months and the normality that we hope is to come from the year 2023. But first, I would like to take a moment to really reflect on the summer so far. It's August, so a big pat on the back is due for reaching this milestone! But what I want to ask you, is what have you learnt this year? And what are you taking into the next epic season? Acknowledge these highs, and perhaps lows and use them to grow and create next year's goals. In this episode, I also touch on my FREE Masterclass that's NOW available, for those looking to pin down their most desired enquiries and also how to nail the sometimes dreaded task of marketing. Click here to claim your space. Join us weekly for brand new episodes of The Wedding Business Podcast, and stay tuned for more free resources and exciting opportunities within our industry. I can barely believe it but here we are at the end of Season 4 of The Wedding Business podcast - thank you to everyone for listening and sharing this season! We have such a wealth of talent in the club and I’m eternally proud of our members and it's been a real privilege to share a platform with them. Today I wanted to talk about the opportunity that 2022 presents to us and take a moment to reflect, because after 2 terrible years, weddings are back, and they are booming. So, to draw a close to this season I want to leave you with this little pep talk that you can come back to anytime you need it. I cant wait to see where this year takes you! Today I am joined by the fantastic branding and luxury wedding stationery designer, Freya Deabil to chat about how to charge your worth - even if you’re just starting out in the industry. Now, I’ve talked about this before, I’ve done webinars on this subject, but it’s a really important discussion because until we recognise our worth, and our pricing reflects it, you’ll never feel appreciated and valued in your business. Pricing your work and understanding the value you bring to your couples is a process that all wedding business owners go through, so in today’s episode, Freya shares the mindset challenges she faced in charging her worth and how recognising this has shifted the perception of her business. I know raising your rates can be scary but fear not, Freya has such valuable experience and advice to share in this area - so if you’re working your socks off but not getting the results you want, this is the episode for you! You can see more of Freya’s beautiful work at: www.deabillandquince.co.uk and connect with her on Instagram @deabillandquince If you find today's episode useful, come and let me know on Instagram @fayecornhill Share it with a friend, or if you have 2 minutes please do leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts.

Joining me today is the brilliant and talented Anna Lewis who, after 20 years in a successful marketing career, took the leap to follow her love for weddings and baking to launch her business - creating stunning luxury cakes for weddings and special occasions. When the Pandemic hit in 2020, Anna used the downtime to hone her craft making a dummy a cake every single day and getting really focused on building her online presence. In the year that followed Anna and her family sadly suffered multiple losses and she found herself in a really difficult place. Anna’s story of how she lifted herself up from this challenging time is truly inspirational, finding strength and peace through baking and channelling her creativity. The last few years have been testing for everyone and Anna’s story of resilience demonstrates how doing one thing each day, or each week, that moves your business forward compounds over time and has a positive impact. Today we also dispel the myth of overnight success, Anna tells me how one of her cakes went viral and her brilliant tip for seeing how far a business has evolved from their old Instagram posts!
