What happens when you mix a washed-up sportswriter, an insurance salesman/actor and two random dudes no one's really ever heard of?

One of the most meta sports podcasts around.

Take one trendy sports topic. Add four dudes who think they're really smart but aren't. Throw em in a little bowl and mix it up. Then, let the fun begin.

Also featuring "Tre Blanco's Podcast and Grill" for Cowboys/NFL talk, "Is This Your King" for movie and pop culture breakdowns and "A Mid-Week Take" your one-stop shop for hottakes and special event coverages.

It's been a long time. We shouldn't have left you. But we're back minus Daniel and featuring On3's James Fletcher (3 True Values podcast) and we're talking the complicated and curious case of Alabama forward Brandon Miller who is tied to a capital murder trial (as a witness) involving former Bama teammate Darius Miles. We dive into everything from the initial crime to the public revelation that Brandon Miller transported the eventual murder weapon and the various media reactions therein. We're back with a tough one.
Minus Terrell Huff this week, Josh Howell subs in to make his S4S debut as the fellas talk about Kyrie Irving and his saga following the posting of an anti-Semitic video on his social media. They also break down if there's any added tension between the Black and Jewish communities considering the growing trend of Black celebrities wading into anti-Semitic language.
Minus Daniel and adding in Tre Blanco, D.R. and Terrell delve into all aspects of Draymond Green punching teammate Jordan Poole and all the aftermath therein, D.R also discusses the history of how violence is evaluated in this country. Its an episode you're not going to want to miss.
While trying to stay in the bounds of what's known and what's not known, the gang tries to break down the suspension of Ime Udoka while also discussing media responsibility and why Udoka's actions required punishment.
Editors note: This episode was recorded prior to Robert Sarver's decision to sell the Phoenix Suns and Mercury. On this episode, the fellas return to break down all things Robert Sarver investigation including Adam Silver press conference explaining the punishment. Afterward, Daniel goes political for Is This Your King by delving into bail reform and the pushback from those who believe it'll lead to criminals walking amongst us.  It's a fun one. Enjoy.
In a battle weeks and one failed un-uploaded podcast in the making, D.R and Daniel finally square off on the Deshaun Watson issue with Terrell and a guest appearance by Tre Blanco (Edd White) playing referees. They break down the latest in the Watson saga including Judge Sue Robinson's ruling, the NFL's appeals process, and the larger societal impact of the NFL wading into legal matters.  D.R and Daniel even delve into their issues with each other's opinions on the matter.  It's a can't-miss heavyweight bout over one of the pressing issues of our time.
The boys are back for their second episode of season three after a long break and working some of the bugs out of the new format. On this episode, they dive into the controversial study clause in Arizona Cardinals running back Kyler Murray's contract. They break it down from beginning to end before D.R. lightly torches the NFL. It's a dynamic return where Thespian Papi does his best to get everyone canceled out of nowhere in the middle of the show. Enjoy the return.
After a long hiatus, Daniel, D.R., Terrell and Tre Blanco (Tre Blanco's Podcast and Grill) kick off season three by breaking down the NIL-induced rant by Nick Saban and the entire fallout thereafter. This episode has it all from Terrell Huff doing a Jimbo Fisher accent to D.R. telling people what makes people more effective at their jobs. It's well worth the two-hour run time. We're back!
The fellas talk about the crazy year in college football's coaching carousel, what it means for the players, what it means for the future of the game and if its a problem the NCAA can or should fix. Then, D.R. shreds Brian Kelly during "Is This Your King?"
Just a whole episode of D.R, Daniel and King Julien eviscerating one Aaron Rodgers lie after another following his weird COVID saga.
Frankly this episode is old. One of the weeks, we recorded and D.R. didn't edit. But lucky for you guys, it was so good we put it up anyway. So ignore the fact that they talked about the New York Mets and their war against the fans but the baseball season is already over. Ignore the fact, that three other Urban Meyer scandals have occurred since the one they talked about on this episode and ignore the fact that all of Thespian Papi's references to his upcoming projects have already occurred (okay that part isn't new). And just enjoy the show.
On this episode, the fellas discuss Kyrie Irving's decision not get vaccinated and subsequently the Brooklyn Nets' decision to not let him play basketball for their team due to New York's laws prohibiting Irving from playing home games unvaccinated. They discuss the reasoning behind both decisions and what responsibility or not Irving has as a public figure along with the role of government in matters such as a pandemic.
We're back! Daniel, D.R. and Terrell finally return to your eardrums to talk about Jon Gruden's racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia....you know what if there's a minority group just assumed he insulted them and how the NFL, as usual, dropped the ball on handling the situation.  It's time to love us again!
On this edition of Speaking for Sports, D.R, Daniel and Terrell discuss Simone Biles receiving criticism for protecting her body and mental health, kicked off by a rare D.R. Lewis rant. Then, they discuss Da Baby where D.R. proceeds to rant again. Who does he think he is Terrell Huff?
The glorious return of Austin Brezina means the OG crew is back in the saddle to talk about Cole Beasley leading the charge agaisnt COVID-19 vaccinations in the NFL and where the league goes from here after clarifying its penalties for teams who cause outbreaks. Then, Is This Your King breaks down into a holy mess centered around Dabo Swinney and Texas A&M.
Julien Owens of the King Julien Podcast joins the gang for a second-straight week to talk about the battle between the students and the University of Texas over the Eyes of Texas fight song before talking about the NBA Finals on "Lighten the Fuck Up" and Space Jam 2 critics during Is This Your King?  Then they end the show with a SERIOUSLY heated debate about Will Smith.
With Austin Brezina and Daniel Davidson out this week, D.R. and Terrell are joined by Julien Owens and Mariana Ovalle to discuss the details behind Rachel Nichols' racist remarks towards ESPN colleague Maria Taylor and the culture at ESPN which fostered them.  Then Terrell goes on an extended rant against Stephen A. Smith during "Is This Your King" prompting Julien to declare it the greatest Is This Your King ever? And if you think that's fire, we're not even telling you about all the smoke Mariana brought with her in return to the pod. Don't miss out!
Episode 53 -- Fail Blazing

Episode 53 -- Fail Blazing

2021-07-0801:38:49

Tre Blanco subs in for Austin Brezina as the fellas discuss the fallout with the Portland Trailblazers hiring former Detroit Pistons star Chauncey Billups as head coach following the resurfacing of the rape allegations against him from 1997. They also briefly touch on Bill Cosby's release, and finally some long-overdue criticism of the Academy Awards and the Olympics during "Is This Your King?"
The gang minus Austin talks about a range of LGBTQ+ milestones over the last week including Carl Nassib in football, Laurel Hubbard in weightlifting and Layshia Clarendon in the WNBA before holding a special retirement ceremony for Ted Cruz.
ft Julien Owens Minus Daniel Davidson and Austin Brezina, the guys discuss what right the fans and media have to professional athletes' time, energy and effort, the state of sports journalism, and NBA crowds getting out of control in the first round on multiple occasions. Then, they switch it up during "Is This Your King" on Kat Williams.
