However, he says that the answer is in the verse itself, as it begins "whatever Hashem says/spoke we will do and we will listen". The Mitzvah to take the 4 Species on the first day of Sukkot and then being happy for 7 days makes it sound as if "only" on these days will there be happiness. But the truth is that this is referring to "additional" joy which a person activates due to the 4 types of mitzvah performance one does - corresponding to the 4 species of Sukkot, etc.
