Description
Welcome to Muckey Landing, Delaware, a place mostly known for being not too far from someplace you’d rather be. While you’re here, stop by the Muckey Landing Market, Diner and Hardware Emporium at the corner of St. Jones and Broad, and say hi to proprietors Virgil Slatter and Harmon Truesdale. If it’s Tuesday, try Harmon’s bologna special. Then sit back and enjoy this award-winning full-cast comedy fiction sitcom, comin’ at you in the tradition of Lum and Abner, I Love Lucy, and The Jack Benny Show. Well, it would be just like those shows if their characters smoked, drank and cussed. Prepare your funny bones, ’cause we’re gonna do our best to tickle ’em!

Let Virgil Slatter, co-owner of the Muckey Landing Market, Diner and Hardware Emporium, introduce you to a few of the quirky inhabitants of his sleepy little hometown.
Muckey Landing — a scripted comedy podcast. Not as sleepy as it looks.
We meet Virgil Slatter and Harmon Truesdale, proprietors of the Muckey Landing Market, Diner and Hardware Emporium. Virgil adopts Aloysius, the world’s ugliest dog. Local artist Myrtle Myrkle invites Harmon to dinner, and Police Chief Neville Cheefe shares conspiracy theories about the fire at the DuPlant chicken nugget plant.
Virgil tries not to lose his temper about Harmon being late for work every morning, to disastrous effect. Salesman Dickie Butz stops in and sells Virgil some highly effective merchandise from Japan.
Virgil Slatter and Harmon Truesdale, co-owners of the Muckey Landing Market, Diner and Hardware Emporium, attempt to advise you about staying safe while shopping at their store. Muckey Landing: sort of like Lum and Abner, but with profanity.
With the town of Muckey Landing still in quarantine, Virgil and Harmon discuss what they want to discuss without coming to much of a conclusion.
Still quarantined, Virgil attempts to forge ahead with recording a history of Muckey Landing for Mitch Pohunk to play on the radio, while Harmon is getting tired of Joe Biden constantly calling him up to talk about nothing.

Still quarantined, Virgil attempts yet again to make a serious recording, this time highlighting the travails of Muckey Landing business owners, but has to reckon with Harmon, who has just gotten a new smartphone.
Harmon drops the tape recorder in the kitchen and breaks it, but assures Virgil that he’s fixed it. The guys go on to record a sincere but fairly dubious history of Muckey Landing and the state of Delaware, touching on pirate ships, casinos, and Natalie Wood. At least, they think they do. We listen as Mitch Pohunk broadcasts the unfortunate result on the radio.
Harmon does battle with a batch of sticky buns, Virgil spars with his old nemesis Doral when she calls the store asking for Harmon, Harmon and Doral get personal, and embarrassing secrets are revealed.
It's Bologna Week, Harmon's annual tribute to the joys of baking with bologna, and he's pulling out all the stops at the lunch counter! Stopping by to inquire about the feast are Radio RMUK station manager Mitch Pohunk, who's taken up a new hobby to help him keep from blowing a gasket or a heart valve; Sammy Fraudiddler, Youth Minister at the Flames of Fire and Grace Right Primitive Baptist Church; and the guys' old enemy Doral, who phones in an order and quickly gets under everybody's skin.
Featuring Mike Polo as Virgil Slatter, Bruce Leister as Harmon Truesdale, Kevin P. Smith as Mitch Pohunk, Andrew Hertzberg as Sammy Fraudiddler, and Patti Gatto as Doral Bernstein. Sound design and engineering by Mike Polo. Music by the politely infraggable Jim Rezac. Written and directed by Chris Polo. Muckey Landing is a Mucked Up Production.
It promises to be an exciting weekend in Muckey Landing: Virgil's sister, Velma, is reopening her gentleman's club, The T&G, for the first time since she closed on account of the pandemic, and Virgil couldn't ask for a better venue to celebrate Harmon's upcoming birthday. What could possibly go wrong, besides everything?

In this episode, uber-receptionist Doral has landed yet another new job, this time at the local radio station, where she ends up interviewing Myrtle Myrkle in place of Mitch, who’s sleeping off his most recent bender on the floor of his office. Harmon explains his totally perplexing and utterly exhausting relationship with Myrtle to Virgil, Booty Sheets and his BVDs stop by the store to make a phone call, and Velma invites Harmon to dinner, much to Harmon’s consternation.

Doral's finding out that being the morning deejay at RMUK, the local radio station, isn't exactly what it was cracked up to be, and Harmon's in a panic because he just remembered Myrtle Myrkle never gave him the painting she painted of the two of them "in flagrante erecto." Psycho Bob pops in to see Harmon, and Mabel Sprout stops by with alarming news about Myrtle's upcoming art show down in Ditchwater.

Harmon's all in a lather about tonight's planned heist of Myrtle Myrkle's erotic painting from the Fuzzy Duck Gallery, but first, he and Virgil have to get through a regular workday. When six cans of ScrappyTime Scrapple Whip go missing from the store, Harmon swings into action to catch a suspected shoplifter, enlisting the help of Buck Firken, Muckey Landing's highly enthusiastic but impossibly dim rookie firefighter. In the final episode of Season 1, the fire crew cleans up as Virgil and Harmon hash out how they've come to find themselves under arrest in the back seat of Jenny Pilsner's police car. Meanwhile, police chief Cheefe and volunteer fire chief Bunny Slatter mull over possibilities; while their theories about the cause range from contrails to terrorists to spontaneous combustion, officer Jenny Pilsner believes there’s a more mundane explanation for the mysterious fires that have recently plagued the Muckey Landing-Ditchwater Lesser Metropolitan Area.

In our season opener, Harmon makes himself pretty for Vinnie Jean, Virgil's sexy little sister, who's coming to work at the store as part of her probation for whomping her ex-boyfriend upside the head with a frozen pork loin. While they await her arrival, Virgil and Harmon discuss Charles Berlitz, the biblical origins of modern language, the wisdom of buying cologne on the internet, and past mistakes.
