Paul Gorst, Ian Doyle and Dan Kay join host Matt Addison for the Blood Red podcast to look back at Friday’s lively Jurgen Klopp press conference and ahead to Watford vs Liverpool on Saturday. With Fabinho and Curtis Jones joining Thiago Alcantata on the sidelines, rightly riling Klopp in the process, could the match with Watford, for whom Claudio Ranieri will be taking charge for the first time, offer an opportunity to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain? And, on the opposite side, will Ismaila Sarr take the chance to impress his new manager Ranieri as well as Liverpool, who have been linked with the Hornets winger? Both questions are discussed before the panel pick Klopp’s team for him and make their score predictions.Get exclusive podcasts direct to your inbox every week for FREE by joining the Blood Red Club. Regular guests Kieth Culvin, Ste Monaghan and John Nicolson, plus Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman, join Peter Hooton for the latest Allez Les Rouges podcast. Assessing the season so far, while the panel are happy with what they've seen from Jurgen Klopp's Reds, Coleman believes they need to get back to being one thing going into the trips to Watford and Atletico Madrid. Both games are previewed before talk turns to comments made by Gini Wijnaldum and Mohamed Salah's contract situation. Coleman gives a football manager's perspective into situations like the one faced by Wijnaldum and now Salah before giving his thoughts on the use of analytics in football, which are so well used by Liverpool. There's also an interesting chat on the takeover of Newcastle United, what it means for football, and what would happen if Liverpool were bought out. As Liverpool face Watford at the weekend, the Liverpool.com podcast assesses the Reds' model and analyses whether there are any lessons that FSG could learn from other clubs. Claudio Ranieri will take charge of Watford for the first time on Saturday, becoming the latest in a long line of Hornets managers, while Liverpool's weekend opponents signed 11 players this summer. Host James Martin is joined by Matt Addison and Emmet Gates to look at Liverpool at one end of the stability spectrum and compare and contrast them to teams like Watford and Chelsea at the other. Plus, with the time coming for Jurgen Klopp to be replaced over the next few years, will the Liverpool model alter at all once the German has gone? Steven Gerrard is one of the leading contenders for the Newcastle United job if, as reported, Steve Bruce will soon be sacked. But should the Anfield great make the move from Rangers, where he has done an incredible job, if he was offered the position? And would it help or hinder his chances of potentially taking over from Jurgen Klopp at his beloved Liverpool? It’s one of the big talking points of the Blood Red podcast, hosted by Matt Addison and featuring the Liverpool ECHO’s LFC correspondent Paul Gorst, and Kai Delaney. Also on the agenda are comments Gini Wijnaldum made about his time at Paris Saint-Germain. But, while it’s not gone well for the Dutch international in the French capital so far, have Liverpool replaced him yet? Injury news is discussed, including the latest on Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota, while Paul explains what happened at the StatsBomb conference, where he heard from Liverpool’s director of research, Ian Graham, and sat one row behind the club's sporting director, Michael Edwards. For our latest podcast Paul Wheelock picks up the phone to Nathan Hemmingham, who is the Sheffield United reporter for the Liverpool ECHO’s sister website, Yorkshire Live. They talk about how Ben Davies is getting on, after he joined the Blades in the summer on loan from Liverpool, and discuss what the defender’s plans are for the future. And also about Rhian Brewster, who made the permanent move from Anfield to Bramall Lane the summer before last, but whose time at Sheffield United has not worked yet. But a lot of the podcast is about how the Blades, who had some good battles with Liverpool when they were in the Premier League, are now recovering and rebuilding after the depature of their beloved manager Chris Wilder, and their relegation back to the Championship… and that includes ta story about the time Wilder and Jurgen Klopp, it sounds, got a bit tipsy together on champagne after a match.Get exclusive podcasts direct to your inbox every week for FREE by joining the Blood Red Club. Liverpool vs Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp vs Pep Guardiola. Matches do not come much bigger than the one that takes place this Sunday in the Premier League. So on the Blood Red podcast, Paul Gorst and Theo Squires join Matt Addison to preview the clash between the top two heading into the weekend of action - after they take a look back at the victory over FC Porto in the Champions League. Top of the Premier League, top of their Champions League group, and through to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, it’s been close to a perfect start to the season for Liverpool, going into their huge match with Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. And it has been a squad effort, with Jurgen Klopp having used 26 players in Liverpool’s unbeaten nine-game run to start the campaign. And one player who has certainly taken his chance to shine is Kostas Tsimikas, who is already well on his way to surpassing the seven appearances he made in his debut season at Anfield. The Greece international has been excellent in the four starts he has made so far this season, proving to be a more than able deputy to Andy Robertson. So, to find out a little more about Tsimikas, the Liverpool ECHO’s Theo Squires picked up the phone to former Bolton Wanderers winger, Euro 2004 winner, and ex-Greece assistant-manager, Stelios Giannakopoulos., who also explains how close he came to becoming the first Greek player to play for Liverpool.Get exclusive podcasts direct to your inbox every week for FREE by joining the Blood Red Club. Josh Williams and David Hughes are back ahead of Man City’s visit to Anfield to preview the game with Liverpool. Prior to that the guys look back on the draw away to Brentford, including touching on Ivan Toney’s showing against the Reds, plus there’s also a look at the 5-1 win over Porto. Away from the current action, the conversation takes Josh and Dave into debating which player, in their prime, they’d rather pick out of Mohamed Salah and Luis Suarez. And ahead of Sunday’s clash at Anfield, there’s plenty of analysis of Pep Guardiola’s side. Enjoy.Get exclusive podcasts direct to your inbox every week for FREE by joining the Blood Red Club. Never commented about a podcast before despite being a podcast addict from footy to true crime to random stuff, but think the comments below are slightly harsh to say the least, I love the difference of journo/fan aspect to contrast the other 4 Liverpool podcasts I listen regularly to, plus the amount put out and for free too has quenched my thirst for LFC content over the last year and I highly recommend this podcast. Allez allez allez
