On today’s show, Tim welcomes Peggy Lee’s granddaughter Holly Foster Wells to the show. The Peggy Lee Estate recently announced Peggy Lee 100, a centennial celebration honoring one of the 20th century's most important musical influences in the world of jazz and popular music. Throughout 2020, the 100th anniversary of Peggy Lee's birth-May 26, 1920-will be commemorated around the globe with music releases, notable exhibitions, special events, programming and a host of tributes and concerts, including a just-announced Hollywood Bowl tribute concert on August 5, "Miss Peggy Lee at 100 with The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra." Jake Tapper (CNN Anchor & chief Washington correspondent) joins the Tim DeMoss Show today via Zoom regarding his new book Race Against Terror: Chasing an Al Qaeda Killer at the Dawn of the Forever War. The book tells the story of a man fleeing the Arab Spring on a refugee boat who surrenders himself to Italian authorities. He claims that, as a terrorist, he is responsible for the deaths of American soldiers. This unexpected surrender sets off an unlikely chain of events and one of the most significant, but little-known, cases in American history.
