Description

If Coach ever heard what we were actually thinking (or drinking), we'd be running. "Running Poles" is a softball, baseball, ball sports, and other sport where honesty is always the best policy. Your hosts, Maren, a "real" journalist, and T, a member of the Israeli National "Softball Team" want our guests to air out their dirty laundry of playing (or watching) athletics. This is a podcast where Coach would have made you run poles for thinking what we are saying.

Addie Lange of the Mizzou Tigers softball team sat down with Maren at the Mary Nutter tournament in Palm Springs. She tells an incredible story of battling adversity and Hemiplegic Migraines, which present themselves as a stroke.
We are joined by phenom Danielle O'Toole aka Tooly. She played at Arizona with T and has gone on to play professionally, at the Olympics, and being in the movie Jackass Forever. Come join us for this weird ride.
We have special guest Chad Withrow from Outkick 360 joining us on the show. We go into the changes in the Big 12, local tv, and the shenanigans of how he and Maren met.
Maren and T talk to Alison Gorrell, Mental Performance Coach and professional basketball player. This episode is about mental health and suicide related themes. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a crisis, please reach out immediately to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or text HOME to the Crisis Text Line at 741741. The content of this podcast is not intended to be a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your mental health professional or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have.
Maren and T get together with a childhood friend who just happened to play at Indiana and Texas Tech. She's got a world of varying experiences that not every athlete gets *like playing for 5 head coaches*. They talk about the transfer portal and problems that teams can have across the board.
We are joined by Nate Rohr, Nebraska sportscaster extraordinaire to talk about the revival of Husker Softball and how they have grown over the past few years.
This week, we talk to Luke Olson former coach of Oklahoma pitcher Jordy Bahl. She's making a lot of noise and is certainly a contender for Freshman of the Year. He gives us info on what makes the difference between a good player and a great one.
Running Poles crew is back with Mike Schaffer CEO of ad agency Echo Factory. We talk about everyone's favorite part of the Super Bowl... the commercials and all the ins and outs of that. Let's just say people spend the big $$$$.
While Maren is moving, T takes over an interview with Chelsea Suitos, who is one of the Co-Founders of the Players Collxctive (the x is silent and symbolic) and an all around bad ass. Chelsea goes into how the NLI (name, image, and likeness) atmosphere has changed with the NCAA. She gives some awesome tips that can help newly freed college athletes navigate the bumpy waters of NLI.
I know that we are like two weeks after the WCWS, and we recorded this before the tournament was even over. However, here is our reactions to the Casey Stangel interview plus whatever else was going on at the WCWS at the time.
Maren talks with Vanderbilt Football Director of Operations and former Washington softball player, Casey Stangel about her experiences playing in the WCWS and being on the Vanderbilt baseball staff at the CWS.
Maren and T are joined by Arizona alumna Michelle Floyd and Stanford alumna Nyree White this week. They discuss all the topics surrounding the 2021 Women’s College World Series, growing the game, and more.
T and Maren are back for Year 2 of Running Poles. Their first guess is the PWHPA’s Chelsey Goldberg.
The Running Poles Duo is back with Gray Robertson from Out of the Box and Justin McLeod from Justin's World of Softball! We talk about the new controversy at Texas Tech. This podcast truly is the TMZ of softball!
Yeah, college conferences are cancelling their fall seasons. Maren and T go into what's going on with college sports and also professional sports. We don't have a guest today, deal with it.
Maren and T are joined with Justin Bradford from Penalty Box Radio and Rob Leaño from Five for Howling.  In honor of the restart we had to get a matchup between the Predators and the Coyotes.
Creator of the On Deck Series, Alex Bentley, joins us to tell us all about this new authentic baseball series and balancing acting with playing college baseball.
Gray Robertson and Tom Canterbury from the Out of the Box Podcast join Maren and T to talk controversy in softball, baseball being back, and a bunch of shenanigans.
Zack Hample has collected a ridiculous number of baseballs in his lifetime, some which have caused controversy. He stops by the podcast this to talk to Maren and T about life and baseball.
Cam Talbot, Karlis Zirnis and Tony Guzzo join the podcast this week to talk about the fundraising efforts to reinstate Alabama Huntsville’s NCAA DI hockey program. The only issue was that they had one week to do it! Listen in to hear how they did it!
