I also slow podcasts and books for sleeping. I almost always use audiobooks for bedtime, and I slow them to 0.5 as it just helps me grasp the story when I'm falling asleep.
late to the party with your podcast but here I am. It took me 4 months to read War and Peace. I took regular breaks (reading other books in-between). I generally like to break long series up with short books (which is how I attacked War and Peace). I also took my time reading Dark Tower series (9 months) and 6-9 months on Game of Thrones. I nearly broke reading Throne of Glass
