Did you know that prayer is one of the most powerful resources for business growth and success? How often do we pray in our day to day lives, but when it comes to business we tend to focus more upon our own merit, abilities and knowledge rather than the God who created it all? Many of us believe there is power in prayer. Yet most faith-forward Business Leaders /Founders/CEOs have NO systematic spiritual strategy operating in their multi-million dollar organizations.  You'd never do business without sound sales, marketing, finance, and operations strategy. So why wouldn't you have a spiritual strategy and system in place for the growth, protection, and operational excellence of your organization? Because you don't think you can and no one is telling you how.  In this episode, Author Julia M Winston unpacks some of the most powerful and unique concepts of prayer that I guarantee you probably have never considered before. This is a powerful episode about a prominent business woman who boldly positioned herself for a life-changing opportunity. Lydia is a significant figure in the Bible, particularly in the New Testament. She is mentioned in the book of Acts, specifically in Acts 16:14-15 and Acts 16:40. Lydia was a prominent businesswoman from the city of Thyatira, which was located in the region of Macedonia (present-day Turkey). In the biblical account, Lydia is described as a worshiper of God, which suggests that she was a Gentile who believed in the God of Israel but had not yet converted to Judaism. During her encounter with the Apostle Paul in Philippi, she listened to his teachings and became the first recorded convert to Christianity in Europe. She had an open heart, which positioned herself for one of the most impactful opportunities...not just for her, but her household and future generations. Lydia's story is significant for several reasons: First European convert: Lydia's conversion marks a significant milestone in the spread of Christianity. It represents the beginning of the Christian faith's expansion into Europe, which eventually played a crucial role in shaping the history and culture of the continent. Hospitality and generosity: Lydia is known for her hospitality and generosity. After her conversion, she opened her home to Paul and his companions, providing them with a place to stay and support for their ministry. Her actions demonstrate the importance of welcoming and supporting believers in their work and the significance of practicing hospitality as a Christian virtue. Independent and influential woman: Lydia is described as a seller of purple cloth, which was a luxury item often associated with the wealthy. This indicates that she was a successful businesswoman and likely held a position of influence in her community. Her story challenges gender norms and highlights the role of women in the early Christian movement. Lydia's example encourages women to use their skills, resources, and influence to further the work of God. Overall, Lydia's story in the Bible highlights the inclusiveness of Christianity, the power of hospitality and generosity, and the significant role women played in the early development of the faith. Her conversion and subsequent support for Paul's ministry played a crucial part in the spread of Christianity in Europe. Furthermore, Lydia's story serves as a reminder of the inclusiveness of the Christian message and its ability to touch lives regardless of social standing or cultural background. Her conversion played a role in the early growth and establishment of Christianity in Europe, leaving a lasting impact on the development of the faith. There is so much we can learn from her, and in this episode, I unpack many powerful truths from her story. I also want to share with you a phenomenal book I've been reading on effective speaking, which I mention in this episode. Check out the book I'm reading by clicking the link below: https://www.amazon.com/shop/racheree/list/3A1Y4LJ6DXZSW?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_aipsfracheree_2QE27V9X9E8Y55WZDRRT Find these resources and more by heading over to www.rachelearp.com. Have you ever dragged yourself to the gym, mostly because you just want to look like that girl who has the "perfect" body?  Do you ever struggle with your self-worth, your self-esteem and self-confidence?  Do you follow people on social media and compare yourself to others who seem to have it all together? *sigh... If you can relate to any of the above, Girl...you're not alone! God does not want us to feel inadequate, or inferior to anyone. He created you uniquely and wonderfully. We should take care of our bodies because we are His vessels...and in fact, the Bible says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit! And so yes...we should treat it with respect, and do everything we can to stay healthy, positive and strong for Him! That, my friends, should be our ultimate "work-out" motivation! Resting in the fact that He created us beautiful, and we have so much potential! Your body image perception should never be what the "world" deems beautiful or perfect. Base it on the word of a loving God who actually created you with a purpose. My lovely guest, Portia Mejia, shares in this episode her own struggle with body image and how that propelled her to become a fitness coach....but not in the way most fitness coaches are! Her mission is to help women work out and have a healthy body image...and to see themselves as their heavenly Father sees them. Portia is such a delight, and I know you will love her heart! Enjoy this episode, and if it touches your heart or resonates with you...share it with a friend!  Learn more about Portia by clicking here: https://www.rachelearp.com/131
What does it mean to be your best beautiful self? In this episode, meet my friend Carleen Murone. Carleen is the President of Imagine By Carleen Inc, the parent company of Imagine Wellness Spa and Functional Nutrition with Carleen. She is an Entrepreneur who had to rise above many obstacles to pursue her long-time mission... helping people find and enhance their best beautiful self. Owning a thriving business does not always feel like you're "living the dream life". It's hard work, commitment and the determination that even when things don't work out like we planned...we will either find another way, or find another path.  There is a quote by Estee Lauder that says "I never dreamed of success...I worked for it". That, my friends, says it all!  I know you will love the nuggets of wisdom in this episode, and if you do...please share it with other women who need a few minutes of encouragement on their journey. We are BETTER TOGETHER!  Connect with Carleen through social media or visit her website at www.carleenmurone.com to see what she's up to!
If you are a Mom who also balances a Career...sometimes we feel like we're teetering on the edge...am I right? We wonder where our sanity went, why there's so much laundry, why there's not enough hours in a day, how we are going to meet the deadlines, and the list goes on.  Well Friends, you are not alone!  My special guest and dear friend, Jeana Bertodatto, shares her struggles as a Mom and Realtor who also works with her husband as a Team. She has three energetic little boys that keep her on her toes, and she juggles it all so gracefully! Prepare to laugh with us and catch a glimpse into honest, real conversation between two moms, best friends, and career women! We will be touching on the topics of raising children in this challenging world, unplugging from work when our family needs us, and working with your spouse. If you didn't get a chance to catch my previous episode about "Working with Your Spouse", I had so much fun interviewing my husband, Dale Earp. You can find that episode and all the others on my website at www.rachelearp.com. I encourage you to follow Jeana on Instagram @jeana_bertodatto or connect with her on Facebook at Jeana Bertodatto. You will love her positivity and adorable family!
