Hi Waldy and Bendy, re. swans in art I suggest you look up Pauline Bewick, who because of her name had quite an affinity with swans. and try rotating the Isabella Wolf portrait clockwise!
All the commentaries I've heard about the Inauguration have emphasised that the ladies wore varieties of purple, to emphasise unity - the coming together of the red and blue of Republicans and Democrats.
