This one is short and sweet! I bring some closure to this project :) Below is the link I've mentioned before! I highly recommend taking a look. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vR4HGio4Q7mbAj5sIJ72_nYUwvKS6EfRYj84BGQCs0AE0GrVCPcSCkZEUMTK7SZDsk-v9qgxpG2Hb78/pub
I'll finally give you some suggestions on what type of classroom environment, activities, and specific interactions have been found to be ideal when teaching students with trauma. I include generalized information from academic sources and provide specific personal examples to help you understand the application of these ideas.
Grab your notebook and water bottle because this is a long episode with a lot of applicable information! This episode covers why it's important for teachers to be socially and emotionally competent, what that looks like, how to achieve it, and includes other additional tips for self-care.
This episode builds off of episode 4, and talks about how trauma and maltreatment is associated with academic performance. Just as a heads up, this episode is a little less academic based and more opinion/experience based. The enunciation is also not great so bear with me!!
I switch to a more more causal and fluid setup, to talk about what behaviors you may see in youth that have trauma.
