What do you want your church to be known for? And what sort of church are you working to build?
What we pray for reveals who we are. Jonah 3:10-4:11 highlights the contrast between Jonah's heart and the Lord's.
The Spirit's work among the Ninevites teaches us what genuine revival actually looks like, and challenges us in our own ministry here in Nashville.
We all know what it's like to long for what we don't have. In 2 Cor. 5:1-4, we see what we all long for the most, where it's available, and how we can get it.
When God's people repent of their rebellion against Him, He is faithful to rescue them.
In Jonah 1:4-17, we see two different ways of responding to God's Word: stubborn rebellion and submissive fear. Which is more characteristic of your own response to the Sovereign God?
The Book of Jonah is ultimately a message of God's mercy toward all, even the bird-brained, the depraved, and the calloused. Christians have the privilege of stewarding this message of mercy as we proclaim it to the lost.
The hope of heaven sets our mission as a local church. It shapes the message we share with others, and the life we share together.
You do have to grieve. But you don’t have to grieve without hope.
How do you not lose heart when there are so many reasons to? You need to know that heaven is where you are going, and suffering is how you will get there.
There is no peace without hope, and no hope without heaven.
In heaven we will be perfected by sight. In the meantime, on earth, we are being purified by hope.
For a Christian, the day of judgment is a day to long for, because on that day we will finally see ourselves as God already sees us in Christ, defined not by all our sins and failures but by his beautiful, spotless righteousness.
Though we fear many things, Jesus has the power to free us from every overwhelming evil power (particularly fear of our sin and being in a sinful world) so we should not fear his power but trust his power.
No one is ever fully satisfied, and often the better we seem to have it the worse we seem to feel. How did we get here? And what can be done about it?
At the center of the Christian life Paul places intentional, disciplined focus on the hope of heaven. Why?
When you imagine God looking at you, what expression does he have on his face?
What do you need to see about Jesus to rejoice in God in your heart, not just with your words?
A just and righteous king is to your life what rain is to freshly mown grass. Jesus is the king you need.
Who is God's most beautiful of Kings and what is it like to be married to Him?
