One of the biggest myths in the detailing world is that ceramic coatings are difficult to apply. For years people were told that coatings were only for professionals… that you needed perfect prep, exact flash times, and that one mistake could ruin your paint. And honestly… that used to be true. But modern ceramic coatings have evolved a lot. Today there are ceramic products designed specifically to be easy, forgiving, and safe for everyday car owners to use. In this video we break down: • Why ceramic coatings used to be difficult • Why that reputation still exists today • How modern coatings have changed • The difference between spray ceramics and wipe-on coatings • The biggest mistakes people still make when applying protection • Why ceramic protection actually makes washing your car easier We'll also talk about why the real benefit of ceramic protection isn't just gloss — it's how much easier it makes your car to clean every time you wash it. If you've ever thought ceramic coatings were too complicated, this video will change your mind. Do you really need an IPA wipe before applying a ceramic coating after polishing? In this episode, I break down a real email from a customer who asked if you can go straight from polishing to coating — or if panel prep is mandatory. We'll cover: • Where the IPA wipe "rule" came from • How different polishes leave different residues • When panel prep actually makes sense • When it's unnecessary • Why overcomplication is hurting detailers If your polish finishes clean, do you really need to strip the surface again? Let's clear up the confusion and simplify the process. Is it possible for a ceramic spray to work too well? In this episode of the Auto Detailing Podcast, I break down an email from a customer who says Gloss Boss and Tough As Shell are performing so well… he's washing his car 40–50% less than before. That's right — less dirt sticking, less water used, and fewer washes overall. So what's actually happening here? In this episode, I break down why traditional car wax — both natural and synthetic — no longer makes sense for me when it comes to real paint protection. Yes, wax can give your car a beautiful glow. Yes, the "wax on, wax off" process can be therapeutic. But when you look at durability, chemical resistance, heat breakdown, and the amount of labor involved, the return just isn't there anymore. Two years ago, I launched my own car care product brand. I thought I knew what I was getting into. I didn't. In this episode, I break down the real lessons I've learned after two years of owning a detailing product company — from product development and marketing to customer psychology, brand positioning, emotional endurance, and building community. We're talking about what actually matters when building a car care brand: • Why great products aren't enough • Why simplicity beats complexity • Why customers care more about ease than performance specs • The difference between hype and integrity • The emotional reality of owning a product company • What I'd do differently if I could start over This isn't a highlight reel. It's an honest look at what it really takes to build a detailing brand from scratch. Whether you're a detailer, an entrepreneur, or someone thinking about launching your own product line, this episode will give you clarity on what matters — and what doesn't — in the car care industry. Are you buying detailing products you don't actually need? In this episode, I break down the most overhyped DIY car detailing products that are pushed hard by marketing—but don't make sense for real-world car care. We cover graphene and triphene, borophene ceramic coatings, all-in-one waterless wash ceramic sprays, iron removers vs color-changing wheel cleaners, why multiple compounds and polishes are unnecessary for DIYers, the truth about pH-neutral-only car wash soaps, and why you don't need multiple wash buckets to safely wash your car. This video is for DIY detailers who want better results, safer washing, and a simpler setup—without falling for hype. Pros may need specialized products, but if you're maintaining your own vehicle, less gear and better technique will always win. If you're tired of cluttered shelves, confusing product claims, and gimmicks in the detailing world, this episode will save you money and make detailing easier. STOP wasting money on detailing gear that gathers dust. In today's episode, I'm stripping away the "ego buys" and showing you the 6 expensive tools you should NEVER buy—and the things you should invest in immediately to get pro results. Most detailers go broke before they even get their first client because they buy gear they only use twice a year. If you want to run a profitable business (or just have the cleanest car on the block), you need to invest in Chemistry and Technique, not just expensive machinery. Today I'm exposing the biggest ceramic coating lies and showing you how to fix a clogged coating using Tough as Shell. The industry wants you to believe coatings are "set it and forget it," but that's the fastest way to ruin your paint. You don't always need more products — sometimes you just need a better approach. In this episode, I walk through three detailing habits I use that might seem a little unconventional, but have helped me save time and still get great results. We'll talk about: Why I don't use wash buckets anymore How I clean wheels with minimal scrubbing using wheel acid Why I use a ceramic spray on leather seats as part of my regular maintenance Everything I share is focused on working efficiently, not cutting corners. I'm big on making each product do more than one job and finding methods that simplify the process without sacrificing results. This isn't theory — it's what I use every day on real cars. If detailing ever feels more complicated or time-consuming than it needs to be, I think you'll get a lot out of this one. The number one complaint I get about my detailing products has nothing to do with performance or durability. It's that they are too easy to use and they actually do what the label says. In this video, I break down why simple, effective products often get criticized, why the detailing world is conditioned to expect complicated systems, and why I intentionally design products that save time and deliver real results. What we cover: → Why "too easy" gets treated like a flaw → The mindset and misinformation in the detailing space → Why simple products often outperform complicated ones → How this approach shapes my entire product line Products Mentioned: Tough As Shell Ceramic Spray → https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/hard-as-shell-ceramic-spray → Amazon: https://amzn.to/43bHBWC The Super Soaper → https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/the-super-soaper Picture Perfect Polish → https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/picture-perfect-polish All Dressed Up → https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/all-dressed-up Complete Cabin Cleaner → https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/complete-cabin-cleaner Jimbo's Detailing on Amazon: https://www.jimbosdetailing.com/amazon Subscribe for more detailing talk, honest reviews, and behind-the-scenes product development. → https://www.youtube.com/jbalaam
Most car care brands do not want you watching this. Today I'm breaking down the real truth about how detailing products are made, how private labeling works, and why so many brands rely on marketing instead of real chemistry. I've been behind the scenes for years—fulfilling products, private labeling, working with manufacturers, and now developing my own formulas with a chemist. I've seen how this industry really operates, and very few people talk about it honestly. In this episode, I cover: • The truth about private label products • Why most brands don't make their own formulas • How easy it is to white-label average or poor products • Why packaging often sells more than actual chemistry • The real margins and how they drive decisions • Why many influencers recommend certain products • How detailing products are actually made behind the scenes • What cheap formulas skip and why performance suffers • How my own development process works • Why I'm trying to build Jimbo's Detailing differently I also share what goes into products like Picture Perfect Polish, The Super Soaper, Gloss Boss, and more—how they're tested, developed, and refined. Building products the right way is slower and harder, and it takes time to show people the difference. But this episode explains exactly why I'm doing it this way. If you want a safer, faster, and more effective way to wash your car than the old-school two-bucket method, this episode breaks down everything you need to know about the Dry Foam Method. This modern approach lets the soap hit the dirt at full strength, giving you better cleaning power with less risk of scratching. Instead of pre-rinsing the car and immediately diluting your soap, dry foaming allows the chemical to work at its most concentrated level. It removes more dirt chemically before you ever make physical contact with the paint. In this episode, you will learn: What the Dry Foam Method is and why it works The scientific reason dry foaming is more effective How dry foam reduces scratches and swirls Why this method outperforms the two-bucket wash A full step-by-step process you can follow When dry foaming works best, including black cars, ceramic-coated paint, road film, and heavy buildup This is the most efficient, modern wash method for both DIYers and professionals. Why don't I do rinseless washes anymore? After years of being a full-time mobile detailer in Orange County—working in strict coastal cities with heavy water-runoff regulations and during the peak of California's "drought"—I relied on rinseless washes to keep my business alive. I was a full-on mobile rinseless detailer for years. Corporate accounts, weekly clients, everything. But over time, I realized rinseless washing has major limitations that no one really talks about. In this video/podcast, I'm breaking down my full experience: How strict water regulations pushed me into rinseless in the first place Why I switched from waterless → to rinseless → to traditional washing The real problems I ran into after YEARS of rinseless washing Why customers didn't trust it (and how I lost accounts because of it) Why wheels, tires, door jambs, and wheel wells are a nightmare with rinseless Why rinseless is way more labor-intensive than people think Why it only works well on lightly soiled "garage queen" cars Why I eventually moved away from it completely And most importantly… How all of this led me to develop the Dry Foam Wash Method—a system that uses significantly less water but way more chemistry to safely break down dirt with less labor, less waste, and fewer limitations. Rinseless washing still has its place. Traditional washing still has its place. Foam cannons still have limitations. There is no perfect system… …but there are smarter ways to wash a car depending on your goals. This episode is all about the reality of rinseless washes—not the marketing hype—and how years of hands-on mobile detailing shaped the way I wash cars today. Want to Try the Dry Foam Method? There's a lot of talk in the detailing world about SiO2 content in ceramic coatings — but what does that actually mean? In this episode, Jimbo breaks down the real story behind SiO2 and how it's used (and misunderstood) in the detailing industry. You'll learn what SiO2 really is, why it doesn't behave the way many people think it does in solvent-based coatings, and how marketing language often bends the truth. This isn't about calling anyone out — it's about helping you see through the noise and ask better questions before buying or selling a product. Jimbo shares his insider experience working with blenders, chemists, and sales reps, explaining where the disconnect happens and how to tell the difference between marketing buzzwords and real chemistry. → What you'll learn in this episode: What SiO2 actually is and how it forms during curing Why solvent-based coatings can't contain raw SiO2 the way some claim How sales and marketing language often twist technical details Smart questions to ask your supplier or chemist to get real answers Why honesty and transparency always win long term in this industry → Products built on real chemistry, not hype: The Gloss Boss (Pro Wipe-On Ceramic Coating): https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/the-gloss-boss Tough As Shell (Spray Ceramic Coating): https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/hard-as-shell-ceramic-spray Jimbo's Detailing on Amazon: Amazon.com/JimbosDetailing
In this podcast, we're breaking down one of the most confusing topics in all of car care — the difference between a waterless wash, a rinseless wash, a detail spray, a spray wax, a ceramic detail spray, and a true ceramic spray coating. There are so many products that seem to do the same thing, but each one actually serves a very different purpose — and if you don't understand those differences, you'll waste time, money, and effort without getting the results you want. I'll explain each one in simple, easy-to-understand terms — when to use them, what they actually do, and how to know which one is best for your situation. I'll also share the truth about why so many new products exist in the first place, and how companies made things confusing instead of just fixing the real problem: making ceramic sprays easier to use. By the end, you'll understand exactly what each product does, how they fit together, and why I created Tough As Shell — a ceramic spray that applies as easily as a detail spray but gives you the long-lasting protection of a true ceramic coating. Products I use and recommend in this video: Tough As Shell Ceramic Spray – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/hard-as-shell-ceramic-spray The Super Soaper – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/the-super-soaper All Dressed Up – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/all-dressed-up Softer Than Soft Towels – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/softer-than-soft-microfiber-towel Everyday Microfiber Towels – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/everyday-microfiber All Blacked Out Applicators – https://jimbosdetailing.com/products/all-blacked-out-applicators Also available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/JimbosDetailing

By buying a new car, a person relieves himself of a large burden of responsibility for breakdowns that may arise in the future when purchasing used cars. Also at the Opel center in Kyiv https://opel-vidi.com.ua/ru/model-lineup/combo-life guys provide the highest quality service when selecting a car for you, with which you can be confident for at least the next 3 years while your car is under warranty.

Thanks for the useful information. When you said that you use a microfiber side per panel, do you refer to the whole panel or the 2x2 sections?
