Islam is a religion that commemorates seeking knowledge and views it as a virtue because it is through knowledge that we reflect, ponder, and rise above our autonomic tendencies. Thus, there is no better time to seek knowledge than during the month of Ramadan. For this week’s *Friday Night Live*, we are honored to host Shaykh Yaser Birjas along with our Miftaah scholars to discuss the virtues of seeking knowledge during the holy month of Ramadan and how it can elevate our proprium to be pure and dignified.

Taking Accountability Before Ramadan!
With the dynamism of ideologies sequestered in the current world, understanding the depth of our roles and responsibilities can aid in taking accountability. The traditions that stem from the Qur’an and Sunnah provide a groundwork on how we can be transparent about our faults and fuel our obedience to Allah (SWT). In this week’s *Friday Night Live*, we are honored to host *Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans* and our Miftaah scholars to discuss the liability of our nafs present within our Imaan and the proper way to hold ourselves accountable for our actions as we prepare for the month of Ramadan.

Ramadan can be a source of peace for some but a source of stress for others. It becomes a time for families to sit with each other and break their fast, to read Qur’an together during the day, and pray Taraweeh at night. On our Virtual Journey, we visit different monuments near the Ka'aba, one of the notable being Mina. It is where the Prophet SAW struggled to receive support, even being rebuked by his own uncle. It is where one truly begins to feel Hajj, perhaps changing their life and receiving the mercy of Allah SWT. The blessing, the light, and the sacrifice all start to become apparent at Mina, in preparation for the Day of Arafah.

With the partial cancellation of Hajj, during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah 2020, Shaykh Abdullah Waheed, Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed, and Shaykh Mohamed Almasmari took us on a Virtual Journey of Hajj.
Because of the influence of the Prophet SAW (through the will of Allah SWT), the Ka’bah🕋 had experienced a New Beginning. Even after migrating🐪, the Prophet SAW had a connection with the Ka’bah, hoping for the Qibla to be changed towards it. Years later, during the Conquest of Makkah, the Prophet SAW told the Quraysh that it was a day of mercy, not defiling the sanctity of the House of Allah. The Prophet SAW cleaned out the idols🗿 and painted pictures inside the Ka’bah, returning the House of Allah back to complete monotheism, tawheed. The Ka’bah is a symbol of the connection with Allah, with the ummah unified under the belief of tawheed, the Oneness of Allah.
