In this week’s episode, "Understanding AgriStability” Tracy speaks to Justin Chaput from Talbot & Associates about the AgiStability program. Of the two programs, AgriStability can be considered the more complicated of the two programs. Both AgriInvest and AgriStability are a joint federal, provincial, and territorial business risk management program and AgriStability is a margin-based program that provides support when you experience more substantial income losses. So, what does that mean? Join Tracy and Justin as they dive into an episode dedicated 100% to demystifying this often-misunderstood program. Justin explains what the program is, the main goal behind it, how it works when it kicks in, and who qualifies. Because this program can be a bit contentious, they spend a good portion of the interview discussing some of producer’s frustrations. Both Justin and Tracy share some of the common frustrations they hear, and Tracy is a big believer in both programs. She shares her story on how AgriStability has dramatically impacted her farming operation. Justin is a partner and the Agriculture Team Manager at Talbot & Associates. He is passionate about these programs and works with his farm clients and these programs daily. If you ever had questions about this program or wanted to learn more, this episode is for you. Don’t miss it! Did you catch last week’s episode on AgriInvest? Both this week’s and last week’s episodes are part of our Risk Management series here at the Impact Farming Show.
In this week’s episode Tracy speaks to Michelle Durnin in this episode titled “Innovating Women’s Farm & Ranch Wear.” This one is for the ladies. Are you tired of the awkward fitting work wear? Wish you had farm gear designed specifically for the shapes and curves gifted to us ladies? If so, you will not want to miss Michelle's incredible entrepreneurial story of dreaming up and launching Durnin Farm & Ranch Wear. In this episode, Tracy and Michelle speak about: Michelle's background, story, and how the idea for farm and ranch wear designed specifically for women came to her. She shares more about her overalls and coveralls and what women can expect when they purchase products from her rather than the brand names readily available to farmers. Everyone loves a good entrepreneurial story, so Tracy tells the who, what, when, and how of her journey from idea to finally deciding to launch Durnin Farm & Ranch Wear. Tracy asks Michelle what has been the most challenging, surprising, and best thing on her entrepreneurial journey. Limiting beliefs: we all deal with them, and if we don’t know better, we let them stop us. Tracy asked Michelle what advice she would give herself as she contemplated this business idea. Michelle shares some great advice here for aspiring entrepreneurs. To wrap up the episode, Tracy asks some extra personal questions to help the audience get to know her better. These include something that she is really fired up about, a book that changed her life, and the best advice she has ever received. Whether you are a female farmer looking for better-fitting farm and ranch gear or an aspiring entrepreneur… you will love this episode. *********** RESOURCES Durnin Farm & Ranch Wear: https://dfrwear.ca *********** SIGN UP If you enjoyed this episode, don’t forget to sign up as an Insider so that you are first to know about all-new Impact Farming episodes, Expert Corner Segments, fantastic contests, and new promotions https://www.farmmarketer.com/impact_farming_show/sign-up

If so, that is precisely what Tracy and Marcel are speaking about in today’s episode: - Marcel shares more about their Smart DropPan System™, MAD Concaves™, and the MiniCombine™ - Before chatting about the Bushel Plus products, Tracy asks Marcel to share more about growing up on a multigenerational family farm in Germany, his family’s background, and how he ended up in Canada as a summer student. - Marcel also shares his fascinating farming-related travels to Russia, Brazil, and Australia and how he once again found himself back in Canada. - Throughout his travels and experience farming around the World, Marcel noticed one common denominator when checking for combine wastage: it was time-consuming and incredibly dangerous.  - Relying on his handy nature and generations of handymanship, Marcel started innovating to create a drop pan system that would not require farmers and farm hands to risk their lives to get a sample. - He shares how demand steadily grew, and he knew he was onto something. He shares more about the support he received from farmers and the early days of starting to mass-manufacture the drop pan system. - Marcel walks Tracy and our audience through the smart pan system, MAD concaves, and mini combine systems. How do they work, and how do they add value to a farmer’s operation and harvest efficiency? - Marcel has been heard to use the term “precision harvest.” Tracy asks him to explain the terminology and share more about harvest optimization and how their products are helping farmers reduce operational costs over time and maximize their profit potential during harvest. - Tracy asks Marcel to discuss return on investment as each purchase needs to make financial sense for farmers to purchase it.  - Last but not least, Marcel shares the exciting news about a new service, Harvest Academy, which will launch at the beginning of April. In this week’s episode, tracy speaks to Senior Policy Analyst Bill Wirtz about the European Farmer Protests. Across Europe, farmers have rallied against changes in government policies and aggressive government environmental goals that are affecting business practices, harming food production, and seeing farmers in some countries having their farmers taken/bought out by the government. Tracy spoke to Bill Wirtz from the Consumer Choice Center to get the details of the European farmer protests.  In this episode, Tracy and Bill speak about: The uprising of farmers across Europe and what has been happening since January 8th when the German farmers declared a week long protest. To provide the whole picture, Bill takes us back to October 2019 when the Dutch Farmers started protesting their government's aggressive environmental goals, which called for a reduction in nitrous oxide and the call for hundreds of farmers to sell their farms to the government to assist the Dutch government in meeting their environmental goals. Flash forward to January 8th of this year as we see the German farmers kick off a week of nationwide protests against "subsidy cuts" or the end of tax breaks, depending on how you view it. Bill shares more. Since January 8th, Europe has seen farmers from country after country rise and join German farmers. Tracy asks Bill why these additional countries joined. In Europe, there is a lot of talk about "the Green New Deal." Bill shares more about how European governments have ambitious environmental goals. He shares how these lofty ideas are impacting farmers. He shares essential information here for anyone watching the European protests. What about North America? There is a lot of talk in Canada and the United States about the environment, climate change, sustainability, ESG, and goals such as the 30% reduction in Nitrous Oxide. Are these stringent environmental policies headed for North America? What do farmers need to know? Last, Tracy asks Bill if he thinks farmers are right to take these actions. If you have been watching the European farm protests and are wondering what exactly is going on and why…this episode is for you.  This was such a valuable episode. In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks to Trent Loos from Loos Tales about standing up for agriculture, educating the urban consumer, threats to the agriculture industry, and much more. When anti-agricultural activists threatened the way of life he cherished, Trent knew it was time to take a stand. Consumers, even individuals in other aspects of agriculture, were listening to and believing the lies being spread by celebrities and vegan zealots. Somebody needed to speak on behalf of the hard-working farmers and ranchers of America. Trent accepted the challenge. In this episode, Tracy and Trent speak about: He realized very early that consumers were getting bad information about the who, where, and how their food was produced, and he knew it was time to take a stand for our industry. He shares the story of how his show Loos Tales was launched and how the show airs on over 100 stations nationwide today and boasts 3 million listeners on-air and online. His mission? Sharing the message about the people and places in rural America is a step toward re-connecting consumers to their food. Trent has been doing this since long before it was the “cool, foodie” thing to it. Tracy asks Trent about the most significant threats he sees to the agriculture industry. He speaks about the destruction of the energy sector and how he sees a similar trajectory in the agriculture industry with the green agenda. He touches on the 30x30 land grab agenda and encourages farmers and ranchers to know what is happening before it is too late. He references the European farmers and how green agendas have harmed their farming operations and pushed them to unrest. Tracy asks for words of wisdom and encouragement for farmers who see what is happening and may feel overwhelmed when it comes to speaking up for our industry. If you are looking for a straight-talk episode. Look no further. Trent shares his passion, concerns, and hopes for the industry we all love so much. Thanks so much for tuning into this episode! In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks to Damian Mason about “Threats to Agriculture: Climate Activism, Ag Policy, Power Grabs, Advocating and More.” Is environmentalism and climate activism the new religion? Today’s guest, Damian Mason, thinks so. In this episode, Tracy and Damian speak about: What are the biggest threats to agriculture? When Tracy asks which one will have the most impact on our industry, Damian responds with a confident “agriculture policy” as the biggest threat to agriculture in the future. Are environmentalism and climate activism the new religion? Damian shares that the most pronounced threat to North American agriculture is the regulatory environment, and the pressure comes mainly from environmentalism. The Climate crusade/alarmism/catastrophe movement has wheels, and it's getting traction. He speaks about how the "end of the World" due to climate change has been fear-mongered for decades, and they keep moving the doomsday deadline.  Damian speaks about how the media and government are using the climate crusaders to push the movement further to justify creating additional legislation within and outside the agriculture industry. Damian speaks about California and the Netherlands as prime examples of the green movement legislating farmers out of business. Does the government want to control the food? Why are they trying to remove agriculture from California, the Netherlands, and locations around the World? He shares his thoughts. Is it the consumer that wants more legislation? Damian says no, but it’s pretty clear the government does. Are we feeding a growing population, or is the population in decline? The answer may surprise you. So, how can agriculture better share our story to counter these environmental movements? The NRA (National Rifle Association) has only a few million members, comparable to agriculture, but Damian says they are fantastic at advocating. Why? They stay on message, and they know how to fight. It needs to be personal and emotional. He ends with a few positive thoughts to encourage farmers. As always, every movement/trend is on a pendulum, and the environmental movement will return to normal once food availability, affordability, and freedom of choice impact the consumer. Then, the consumer will wake up and start to push back. If you want an episode that challenges the status quo, buckle up and tune into this entertaining and informative episode. The 30x30 Land Grab & Property Rights  In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks to Margaret Byfield from the American Stewards of Liberty about “The 30x30 Land Grab & Property Rights.” Have you heard about The 30x30 Land Grab? If you are a farmer who rents or owns land in the United States, Canada, or anywhere around the World, please do not skip this episode.  In this episode, Tracy and Margaret speak about: How her family’s decades-long battle with the government over land and water rights started her on this journey of protecting farmers and their property rights. Margaret explains that the 30 x 30 program is a plan advanced by radical environmental activists to permanently protect 30% of America’s land and oceans by 2030. The program is being advanced by the Biden Administration through Executive Order 14008, “Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad” (86 Fed. Reg. 7,619), signed January 27, 2021. Margaret explains that this is happening worldwide. She mentions Canada’s land grab goals and refers to what is happening in the Netherlands, with governments forcefully buying out Dutch farmers in the name of the environment. She explains that while their goal is 30% by 2030, their ultimate goal is to eventually “protect” 50% of land and oceans. She shares how they plan to achieve this and where they are on their mission towards 30%. Tracy asks Margaret to get 101 and explain what conservation easements are. What is the typical length of conservation program commitments? What is the government doing with monuments? Tracy asks Margaret to connect the dots on the dangers of farmers signing their land to conservation organizations. She shares eye-opening information about the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). Did you know that the government has kept the program under the same name all this time but has been quietly changing the name and the program's purpose behind the scenes? This point is very important. Did you know that if your land is part of the CRP program, it enables a federal nexus to be applied to your land? Why is this important? Private property is safe from the Endangered Species Act, BUT as soon as your land is part of these programs and government dollars are received on your land…this creates the nexus and means that your land now falls under the Endangered Species Act. Why is this important? This puts your property rights and land usage at risk if the government deems your land inhabited by an endangered species. Do you think it is impossible to have your land declared unusable due to endangered species? Tracy gives a horrifying example of this happening within her area when a protected species of orchids was found in Southeast Manitoba. The farmers were threatened with a $50,000 fine and ultimately prevented from ever using their land again. Tracy asks Margaret about the ultimate dangers behind this 30x30 land grab. Margaret answers with a sobering wake-up call and call to action on property rights, freedoms, and liberty. If you are a farmer renting or owning land in the United States, Canada, or anywhere around the World, do yourself and your property rights a favour and watch this episode.  I really hope you find this information and episode as eye opening as I did. In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks with Jake Leguee, a Saskatchewan farmer, in a timely episode titled “Don’t Tell Farmers How To Farm.” Have you noticed an increased interest in agriculture from the government, industry organizations, and the sustainable/green/environmentalism movement? If so, you are not alone, and that is exactly what Tracy and Jake speak about in this timely and much-needed conversation. In this episode, Tracy and Jake discuss: Why Jake started his advocating journey with his blog titled “A Year In The Life Of A Farmer.” They chat about how our industry narrative has changed from farmers advocating to the public about food safety to what appears to be a new tidal wave of sustainable agriculture narratives and initiatives. Is the agriculture industry becoming the poster child for the green/climate/sustainable movement? Is this a good thing? They dive into agriculture policy and discuss a few key policies that have many farmers concerned. They start with the 30% fertilizer reduction by 2030. They discuss the carbon tax and the recent bill c234. Last but not least, they discuss climate change. Jake wrote a blog post title “Climate Change is Not the Apocalypse,” and he shares this thoughts and research on agriculture and climate change. Tracy asks Jake what keeps him up at night and what his mission is with his blog, advocacy, and speaking engagements. It can all seem overwhelming for many farmers, like the cards are stacked against us in the conversation about our industry, work, and livelihood. In this week’s episode, Tracy speaks with Chrissy Wozniak from North American Ag about agriculture policy. Many farmers cannot help but notice that agriculture and our farming practices are increasingly in the spotlight with each passing day. We all see and hear the headlines. Sustainability, ESGs, property rights, water and wildlife preservation efforts, carbon concerns, fertilizer reductions, animal rights, lab-grown "meats", plant-based “meats,” and the list goes on and on. Being in the public eye, and the constant uncertainty that comes from being in the spotlight, has many farmers concerned about the future of farming. Tracy and Chrissy tackle many of these subjects in a great conversation about policy and its growing impact on agriculture. In this episode: Chrissy shares more about her platform, her mission, and why agriculture policy has become an ever-increasing passion for her personally and professionally. She shares more about American Agri Women, her involvement, and the work this group of amazing women is doing to represent the best interests of the agriculture industry with our elected officials. Tracy and Chrissy chat about how there are several agriculture policies with growing momentum right now and how many of these policies are not even on the radar for most farmers. In this episode, Chrissy focuses on four policies that every farmer should know about. Have you heard of ESGs? Many farmers have not. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, and Chrissy shares how this impacts our industry. As farmers, the land is near and dear to our hearts; without it, we cannot farm. Chrissy shares more about property and water rights policies and encroachments that have been and are currently making waves in the USA and around the World. For anyone involved in the agriculture industry, it is no surprise when Chrissy shares that there is an attack on animal agriculture. Between PETA, vegans, and other animal rights activists…animal agriculture has been in the public eye for many years. However, Chrissy goes on to share that our current threats may be coming from within the government. You will not want to miss this. Last but not least are fertilizer restrictions. This topic made headlines a while back with the government’s declaration that farmers must reduce their fertilizer usage by 30%. While the conversation seems to have died down for now, this battle is far from over. Chrissy shares some final parting thoughts on agriculture policy and whether or not farmers should be concerned. She also shares a few tips for farmers if they want to learn more or get involved. If you are a farmer, you don’t want to miss this episode. ...............................
