Hi, I’m Gemma Stow host of Introverts Inspire. During this series of Introverts Inspire I’m talking with other successful introverts to discover how they’ve used their introversion as a superpower, and how you can too. I am obsessed with supporting fellow ambitious women to silence the self doubt, ditch the excuses and unlock their potential. I empower women to feel more confident, believe in themselves and fully accept that they have what it takes to work for themselves doing something that they love. I have worked in the public sector and had my own private business, both were helping others to unlock their true potential. Granted the peeps I chose to work with had a lot of soul searching to do and needed specialist interventions, but I still got the same rush of seeing others having those ‘YES - I can do it’ moments. When I see people start to truly believe in themselves it is the most amazing thing in the world! Because I know from my own experience that we can stop ourselves before we even start and that self doubt kills more dreams than failure could. My motto and the only one you need is “ Do what you can’t ”I realised quickly that we all need support and guidance to reach our goals. As a proud introvert I have come to realise that a lot of my personality traits have held me back in business. I used to avoid certain things that are really essential to building a successful business, attracting the right customers and making the income your want to make. Things such as promoting myself and my services, selling, presenting, public speaking, networking, feeling good enough when comparing myself against other amazing people. I found my fierce though. And after a lot of work on myself I have pushed and challenged myself to really do the things that I have been telling myself for years that I can’t do. And have done it in ways that I thought I ‘should’ do, but after trying and testing out things that have worked well and some, well not so much, I have finally found ways that feel really good to me. And you can do that too. You don’t have to be like everybody else. You don’t have to be the loudest. But you do have to be visible. For your business to do well people do have to know about you. Having spent almost two decades working within the Recruitment world, Danielle works on a 1:1 basis, mentoring people who are looking for their dream job; helping them to navigate the search to a better future and enabling them to see themselves in a new light, giving them back their confidence and helping them to move away from the ‘life of should’ they’ve been used to for so long. She also works with business owners who are looking to recruit fresh new talent, who are sick and tired of the old ‘agency way’ and who want something more from their consultant. Danielle believes that no-one should fall into living, what she refers to as, a life of SHOULD and whether it’s someone looking to create that new career for themselves or the business owner ready to recruit someone amazing into their business who WANTS to work for them, rather than feels they SHOULD… It’s all a similar process and one that can be enjoyed, embraced and repeated as and when it’s needed – without the drama. #IntrovertsInspire #DoWhatYouCant“I am really passionate about avoiding the life of should and it came about when I started to work with younger adults...it made me realise that I work with people everyday living this life of should” - Danielle Mills “I think there is a link to being an introvert with this life of should and those stereotypes that are out there around introversion” - Gemma Stow “I think a lot of things come down to expectations that you put on yourself or what you feel others have about you” - Danielle Mills “Before we started working together I saw sharing worries or fears as a sign of weakness and would worry that it would make me seem less of a capable business person” - Danielle Mills “I was in awe when I saw others asking for help it was the strongest thing - it is more than ok to share your fears” - Danielle MIlls “It is a strength talking about what you don’t know what you are doing” - Gemma Stow “Creating a space where people can be vulnerable is where everything grows and I love it’ - Gemma Stow “It was the beginning of everything for me 100% [working with Gemma] don’t be afraid to stand out” - Danielle Mills “We need the wobbles, we need things to go wrong so we don’t do them again!” - Danielle Mills Download your complimentary Introverts Inspire workbook here: https://gemmastow.lpages.co/introverts-inspire-action-planner More information on Club Fierce: Networking for Introverts here: http://bit.ly/cfnetworkingforintroverts Connect with your host Gemma Stow: Website: https://www.gemmastow.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gemmastow/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/gemmastow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamgemmastow/ Connect with Danielle Mills:Website: https://hotseatrecruitment.co.uk/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/daniellemillsrecruiter/
Dr Katherine Hickman is a busy working mum of three young children and married to an exercise-crazed husband. As a certified Life and Tiny HabitsⓇ coach and GP with 18 years experience she helps mums get back control of their lives. By combining her coaching, scientific medical background and a behavioural change model known as Tiny HabitsⓇ she help Mums to focus on making small, in fact tiny, changes to their life. This enables them to make lasting, sustainable changes, care for themselves and above all start prioritising themselves and what matters to them. For 18 years Katherine worked as a doctor, 11 of these as a GP and she LOVES her work. But this wasn’t always the case. Four years ago she found herself with a 3 month old baby, an unfinished extension, and no kitchen or bedroom. She was utterly miserable in her job and her life felt completely out of control. Time with a coach gave Katherine the clarity she needed to leave her GP Partnership and focus on what really mattered to, which was ultimately getting her life back on track. #IntrovertsInspire #DoWhatYouCant “About 5 years ago I was in a period of burnout and was at rock bottom unable to look after myself, my family or do my job and I hit crisis point and resigned from my partnership” - Katherine Hickman “I have got the biggest speaking presentation of my life and I know I will be practicing on the morning and it will be fine but 5 years ago I would have been consumed by it and got myself into an absolute state” - Katherine Hickman “As introverts we overthink and can sometimes hold us back and that prepapartion can be all consuming” - Gemma Stow “When I saw the Facebook post I felt like physically vomiting” - Katherine Hickman “The thought of putting myself out and it being solely about me is quite overwhelming but I have started to work with that and see it as something positive” - Katherine Hickman “It is about trusting yourself that you are the expert” - Gemma Stow “When have that stereotype of what networking is and it is much more than that’ - Gemma Stow “I kept chasing it because I knew that if I could meet her for a coffee I could convince her it was the right thing to do” - Katherine Hickman “You have got to find that thing that allows you to be yourself” - Gemma Stow Find more information on Club Fierce: Networking for Introverts here:http://bit.ly/cfnetworkingforintroverts Download your complimentary Introverts Inspire workbook here: https://gemmastow.lpages.co/introverts-inspire-action-planner Connect with your host Gemma Stow:Website: https://www.gemmastow.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gemmastow/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/gemmastow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamgemmastow/ Connect with Katherine Hickman:Website: https://www.katherinehickmancoaching.com/

What an amazing season it has been on the Introverts Inspire podcast. So many women sharing their stories and how they have stepped into their spotlight in their own way. It is not always easy for introverts to claim their spotlight. They would much rather be behind the scenes getting on with doing what they love, but more and more are stepping out of those shadows because it is important to be visible if you want to have that impact and presence to make a difference. "Do what you can’t" is the motto of the day and it wasn’t that long ago that I had convinced myself I would never have a podcast and we are now on our way to Season 3! Which already has some incredible guests lined up. I talk about a woman I worked with recently that went through that feeling of doubting herself and completely turned it around so much so that she went from zero income to creating a £21K month. It just goes to show what having support and growing your confidence can do when you believe in something enough! I am on the look out for special guests and also topics that you would love to hear me talk about on the show - come and join my community Female Introverts in Business https://www.facebook.com/groups/thefmovementintrovertsinbusiness/ and let me know your feedback!#IntrovertsInspire #DoWhatYouCant “In this noisy world more is needed” - Gemma Stow “She started doubting herself and having those wobbles that I often talk about” - Gemma Stow “She needed to believe in herself that she could make it happen - so we refocused” - Gemma Stow “If you can believe it you can achieve it’ - Gemma Stow “She said that it felt like a lid had been lifted” - Gemma Stow “If you are ready to be noticed for the great work that you are already doing - it’s not enough to base everything on performance you have to showcase what you do” - Gemma Stow “It might be that you want to practice promoting yourself and that’s what Club Fierce: Networking for Introverts is all about” - Gemma Stow Download your complimentary Introverts Inspire workbook here: https://gemmastow.lpages.co/introverts-inspire-action-planner More information on Club Fierce: Networking for Introverts here: http://bit.ly/cfnetworkingforintroverts or sign up to be the first to hear when the doors reopen http://bit.ly/ClubFierceInfo Come and share your feedback with me in the community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thefmovementintrovertsinbusiness/ Connect with your host Gemma Stow: Website: https://www.gemmastow.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gemmastow/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/gemmastow Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamgemmastow/
