Now in our fourth series, we're back and this time around we're talking 1980s films of all shapes and sizes. But not just that, we've got eps on 80s TV, and music videos and more! As ever our episodes include trademark features such as Recastarama (where we recast the film using current actors) and Who Am I (where we work out who we would be in the film). Lots of fun to be had. [Our 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s series are also available]

This week Paul and I are back doing another fantastic fantasy draft episode, this time picking our favourite film sequels, so lots to chew on there. Oh, and if you want to hear more of me talking sequels, be sure to check out the episode of (the excellent) Unequal Sequel podcast which I guested on last year, where i talked about my favourite and least favourite sequel movies along with my fantasy sequel.
In this episode, Paul and I did a fantasy draft on our favourite movie vilains of all time. So it's ten picks each, no overlap allowed, beyond that it's anything goes.
In this episode I'm delighted to be joined by Tom Huddleston, author of the forthcoming book 'David Lynch: His Work, His World' to talk about the final sequence from the film, 'The Elephant Man', as well as the life and career of David Lynch.
It's more David Lynch talk this week as Paul and I discuss the diretcors 1984 film, 'Dune'.
This week our summer of Lynch returns with an episode in which Kieran, Paul and I discuss David Lynch's second film, 'The Elephant Man'.
This week we're back talking 1980s films and we're back talking David Lynch (!!) as Mark, Paul and I discuss the late director's classic film noir, 'Blue Velvet'. A film we love- I think this is one of the best of the decade TBH- but find scarily relatable. (I even get to break out the censor sound which I haven't done in quite some time.....)
In this episode- recorded a few weeks after the passing of visionary director David Lynch- Kieran and I discuss the artist's surreal debut film, 'Eraserhead', as well as reflecting on his career as a whole.
In this episode- recorded back in the midst of the pandemic- Kieran and I discussed Robert Zemeckis' debut feature film, 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand'. This was a film we both enjoyed but certainly had issues with. So you can expect us to talk about the pros and cons of this film about a bunch of teens in 1964 going to New York to try and see The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. We also compare this to other films Zemeckis worked on from 1941 to the Back to the Future trilogy to Forest Gump and beyond! This episode originally aired on my sister show the SpielbergPod in early 2023.
In this episode- recorded at some point back in 2023- Kieran, Paul and I discuss the British sitcom Fawlty Towers through a conversation on the iconic episode 'The Germans'. And we have much to chew on with this episode, from the ways in which this has dated, so-called 'cancel culture', the proposed sequel show (which I guess never happened) and the relationship between the UK and Germany.
In this short solo episode I talk about the fantastic end sequence from the film 'Broadway Danny Rose'. So this is Danny Rose's Thanksgiving party- to which surprise guest Tina Vitale arrives- followed by Danny outside his flat, chasing after Tina on the snowy streets of New York city.
Okay, today it's a very special episode. Firstly, because I'm talking about one my favourite films of the decade- John Landis' 'The Blues Brothers'- and secondly, because I'm joined once again by Liam Dempsey and Paul Willson, two of the hosts from Spocklight: A Star Trek Podcast. And we have much to discuss with this film and beyond. You can certainly expect us to examine the careers of Landis and his leads, Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi (commenting on the films '1941', 'Ghostbusters, 'Beverly Hills Cop 3', 'Blues Brothers 2000' to name but a few). So sit back and relax, pour yourself an orange whip, and listen as we discuss a stone-cold classic.
Happy wekeend everyone! Today on the podcast, Kieran and I are living the high life on the seven seas, with a discussion on the music video for 'Rio' by Duran Duran.
In this episode, recorded live and in-person just before Christmas 2024, my good friends Dan and Jake and I did a fantasy draft on our favourite movie soundtracks of all time. And we had much to say...
In this short solo episode- recorded a few days after the passing of Val Kilmer- I talked about the Ron Howard fantasy film, 'Willow'. A film which- I'll be honest- I'm quite critical of, epecially when comparing this to The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars (but don't worry, I have nothing but praise for this film's leads of Warwick Davis, Joanne Whalley and Val Kilmer, who all deliver top-tier work).
There is much to discuss this week as Mark, Paul and I discuss Adrian Lyne's erotic thriller, 'Fatal Attraction'.
Expect lots of Sherlock Holmes talk this week as Paul and I discuss 'The Speckled Band', an episode of the Jeremy Brett starring TV show, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. We also find time to talk about the show / stage play Fleabag, Brett's love of smoking, and Paul spoils the end of Indiana Jones 5.
This week I'm delighted to be joined by Em, host of film history podcast Verbal Diorama, for a conversation on the (David Bowie-starring!!!) fantasy classic, 'Labyrinth'. And we have much to discuss...
Get ready for a feast of classic ERRP banter- in this recording from late 2024- as Kieran, Paul and I discuss David Cronenberg's sci-fi horror film, 'Scanners'.
In this episode Paul, Kieran and I pick back up with our Blackadder coverage, with an episode on the third series episode 'Ink and Incapability' (FYI- it's the one with the dictionary).
Expect plenty of quotes and load of teen movie talk as Mark, Paul and I discuss the comedy cult classic, 'Heathers'.
