I have enjoyed many of these podcasts., but this one, about Socrates is particularly poignant. I think it is a real ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ episode. I found it thought provoking in the way that Neil Oliver draws the modern day parallels with the philosophy of Socrates life and beliefs in Athenian Greece about 300BC. It really does emphasise how important it is for us to "March to the Beat of Our Own Drum" during the times in which we find ourselves.
I loved this podcast Neil, thank you for it. Contextualising the Jesus event like this brings a lovely clarity. Gratitude.
This is an informative and interesting episode. I look forward to the future podcasts in series two, where Neil Oliver explores and explains aspects of world 🌎 history.
Thank you. I remember it very well. one of the lifeboats crew's father was interviewed. They were Londoners who moved to Cornwall. He said 'growing up the most water he ever saw was a puddle'. Never forgotten RIP
Neil Oliver always brings the wonder to history. I'm so glad I found this podcast...
early June 2013 we booked an inclusive tour of Mull , Staffa and Iona through Caledonian MacBrayne in Oban . Spectacular tour ... weather was kind ... sunny but cold ... Fingal's Cave on Staffa is breathtaking and the history of Iona is fascinating even though I'm not religious . Put it on your bucket list
Love this
Generally really enjoy everything Neil Oliver does. This too.. Listened to episode 1 and it's excellent. Small criticism. My opinion. The second person in the podcast isn't necessary. I found the constant ooohhs and arrrrs very distracting. It's as if I was listening into a private conversation between Neil and someone else, rather than Neil talking directly to me.
