We got together for a catch up and realized we were processing our practice without sight, so we set an intention to go into our yoga routine with a blindfold. This episode dissects how we felt, what we observed from a basic space of self-observation, attention and aliveness. Listen in.

Eli Flournoy is a businessman, who worked at CNN for 25 years in various roles and has experimented with what he calls, 'servant leadership,' which for him is wholly team focused. And throughout his life he's realized, the System is 'rigged' for him and he's learning over and again to show up better - for Women, for his Black colleagues and friends and it's a lifetime of transforming his power into empowerment, navigating ego and surrender. White Men in America need a story of Surrender. And Eli hopes to lead by example.

This week's podcast, Activist & Writer, Courtney Christenson and I decompress and process the SCOTUS anti-abortion decision, it's effect on Women in a psychological way, in a personal and emotional way and how our years of deconstruction from the American White Evangelical messaging is charging us to bring in new Hope to the conversation, recognize our Black & Indigenous Sisters and take back Choice & Pleasure for our Intimate & Wild Bodies.

From October 2016 to July 2017, the battle for Mosul Iraq against ISIS raged. I was there, Meethak al Khatib was there and he was one of our guides, he worked with us messy foreigners and showed us the truth in his country, the beautiful and the damned. Now he's his own journalist, making a name for himself and discovering how to navigate the pitfalls of a country still un-repaired and often forgotten by western countries. I checked in on him. He's an incredible Storyteller and the lessons are about self-reflection and internal understandings - He's translating the war for himself. Join us will you? This is the good stuff.

**And keep following BEARTH Podcast, I'll be clipping up more from our conversation and Posting to YouTube HERE.
I met Aysar Naserallah in the heat of the 2014 - 50 day war in Gaza. He worked with journalists and NGOs to translate, transport and help use unfold the destruction of his home land. Today we're still friends and last year when attacks bombarded Gaza again, he left me a haunting message as he moved his family out of their home and only to follow them the next day. So recently I called him up to find out how he's doing, and give us a picture of the struggle and how he keeps hope amid the occupation.
I hope you'll take share podcast w/ your communities and begin to have real conversations about the violence of the oppressed v. the oppressor, so we can begin to translate the wars abroad to our wars at home.
There's more to come. Stay tuned. And thank you for listening. May you find your way to hope - Cheers.

For over a decade LaDonna has been navigating the fitness trends, coaching and learning her own body, what works, what doesn't and how to get people motivated. But often the New Year's resolution trends offer a surge of expectations we don't follow by year's end. And it's often because we set our expectations too high, we don't rest and then we burn out. So we talk about the importance of Small Steps, building up a good workout, giving ourselves permission to rest and where to go from there. This is an amazing conversation, an important one - because our Bodies are speaking to us, and if we listen, we can become and feel our best selves.

For the last decade, Kate Carlton has captured some of the most incredible photos of families during Birth. She's entered homes, hospitals, hospice centers, worked with Midwives, doctors and even trained as a Doula to support families bringing new life into the world. Her perspective as both a photographer and a mother, herself, is astounding. And in a season of darkness, she knows where to shine the light and truth of all that happens. We dove into just how intimate Birth is, how painful it can be, but also how hopeful it can be, how to grieve and gather support in the aftermath and give moms a breath forward.

In Florence, Italy, NYU professor Angelica Pesarini is the only woman, a black woman too, who is teaching sociology and hoping to reach a few of her students in making a change in the global fight against racism and sexism. We sat down, quite literally over dinner for an impromptu interview at a cafe tucked away in the historical city. The challenges in Italy reveal the lack of representation, the harsh realities of not only the Italian system but the lack of global attention on a country wrought with patriarchal systems that fuel the racist politics and cultural sexism. Her take on how we deconstruct so we can heal and bring justice is worthy learning. Today friends; a very special BEARTH-Podcast.
This conversation was recorded 4-years ago, in Phoenix, AZ, with my Grandfather, Vic Bollinger. He died this past week. It was time.
Though he's gone, the best of him is with me. I can't think of another way to honor this space. I'm glad I turned on the recorder,...just a few months before Mosul would begin, and got him to share a few of my favorite stories, and there were too many to county. He struggled w/ signs of dementia in the following months and years since.
But he connected me to the Grandmother as an adult, yes, the one I've spoken about often, before, after she passed 20 years ago. For those in the #Christian world, you'll find this particularly interesting as he talks about he & my grandmother's rebellion in the Catholic Renewal of the 70s.
Listen in and honor him with me.
