I had a great time tasting fresh oysters with Jordie from JJ Mcdonnell.  She tells us all the valentines specials they will be having at JJ Mcdonell including oysters from Prince Edward island and royal grade Caviar.

Alex Troutman is an African American biologist that is breaking down doors in the science field. Alex grew up in Atlanta and from a early age was hypnotized by wildlife. Although it was hard because he didn't see conservationist that looked like him, his love still grew for mother nature. When he started school he actually was studying to be a veterinarian and then a field biology class changed his point of view on a career. Today I interviewed Adam Simha of MKS design out of Cambridge, Massachusetts. After 20 years of metal working Adams passion and commitment shows in every spec of his knife design. At first sight I was in love with the design of the oyster knife. Steve and Sarah Malinowski of Fisher Island Oyster Company graced the Oyster Ninja Podcast with so much knowledge and grace. The very humble couple have been active farmers for over 40 years. You can not talk oyster sustainability, climate change, or policy without including the Malinowski family. There farm is located in the black island sound and taste and quality oysters are highly talked about in the oyster community. I hope you enjoy their story.
Brown's Oyster Supply is a seafood supplier in Charleston, South Carolina specializing in oysters. Every order is picked and rinsed by hand straight from the mud to you. I had a great time talking with Terrell Brown of Brown oyster supply. His family goes back at least 3 generations working on the water and doesn't have any signs of stopping.
I had the privilege to sit down with Rogue Oysters which is located in Northern Neck. This small oyster company which is also doing oyster drop off's is owned by the husband and wife team Aaron and Taryn. They took their hobby to a full blown business and now with over 500,000 oysters in the water.
Imani Black is the creator of Minorites in Aquaculture a nonprofit to help minorities get a helping hand in the aquaculture field.  We had a great talk about not only diversity in the aquaculture field, but just life in general.  Imani is wise beyond her years and is lighting the road of for many others to follow.  I hope you enjoy this first interview of The Oyster Ninja Podcast season 4.
