You've got a database full of past clients and old leads sitting there doing absolutely nothing. Could be 50, could be 300, could be a thousand. Every single one of these people already knows you, already trusts you, already bought from you — and you're ignoring them while spending thousands chasing cold strangers. In this episode, I share the exact 5-email sequence I use to wake up dead databases — the same sequence that took my own list from 25% open rates to 58%, and turned a bloated 6,000-contact list into 2,000 engaged buyers. The results from my own database: Started with 6,000 contacts at 25% open rates. After running the sequence and cleaning non-responders, I got down to 2,000 contacts — but open rates hit 58–60%. Double the industry standard. And now we're making sales. Write these 5 emails this week. Send all 5 within 10 days. Don't stretch it. Keep the momentum. I recently got 5 quotes for a garage door. Five companies came out, measured up, sent through prices. Guess how many followed up? One. Sort of. A half-hearted text. I'm sitting there with $2K–$5K ready to spend and they can't be bothered following up. This is why most tradies lose jobs — not because their price is wrong, but because their process is broken. In this episode, I give you the exact client nurture sequence I've built with over 100 businesses. It's based on psychology — humans are wired the same way, we all respond to the same triggers. Once you understand this system, you can use it forever. The truth most people miss: Customers don't decide on price. They decide on experience. I had one client beat the biggest stone mason in Canberra on a $16K job — not because he was cheapest, but because he treated the client like gold from first contact. Your competitors are terrible at this. They don't follow up, they don't nurture, they email quotes and hope. If you just show up on time, respond quickly, and have a basic system — you're already in the top 10%. You don't need fancy software. A successful organisation will have some form of management system. So, if you're thinking about working in the world of NDIS, OR if you're contemplating growth in any area (and you should be) remember that anything that lifts the standards of your company, will drive business. This is a way to differentiate yourself in the market and give yourself a distinct competitor advantage. Certification will always facilitate growth and performance! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Coaching Conversations, today's guest speaker is Natasha from QMS, a leading provider of assessment and certification services. Time Code/Show Notes 0.26 Introducing QMS and Natasha – a brilliant system auditor, manager and consultant, highly experienced across NDIS, risk management, work, health and safety, health care and so much more. 2.03 QMS have powers to certify organisations to international standards. When you meet a special set of requirements, certification will set you above others in your industry. 4.10 Nick and Natasha discuss the evolution of HR. HR is about empowering people to achieve organisational goals. Is it mired in paperwork? Are people scared of HR? How has it changed over the decades? 5.54 NDIS exists to support people with disability. Unregistered and registered providers have access to different need groups. Natasha and QMS can make recommendations to the commission to assist businesses with registration. In fact, they get organisations "ready" to work in the NDIS sphere. Making sure you have policies and procedures in place as quality indicators. 8.25 Have you considered how to become NDIS accredited? There are opportunities across many industries – ie. construction businesses to build houses for NDIS participants. It can be both philanthropic and financial in reward. 8.50 When you become accredited in any area, you have lifted your organisation's standards. In construction, it has brought recent reward with 140 registered NDIS builders having received an extraordinary number of opportunities in a short space of time. 10.52 If you're a builder, you require sound accreditation to build a certain standard of disability accommodation. There are design rules for dwellings to meet requirements with a huge demand for more accommodation across the country. 13.07 How do you prepare to become certified, so you can take on NDIS jobs? Know what you want your business to achieve and how you want your business to support NDIS participants to support your application process. 14.27 Do you have a management system certified to an international standard? Often this is a requirement if you're applying for tenders! For example, areas in asbestos and demolition. Build efficiencies and elevate business. Accreditation to a quality management system will win you jobs over those you do not have them. 17.02 It's never too early to seek ISO certification.
