Celtic beat Motherwell 3-1. Later in the evening Hearts lost to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. The gap at the top of the SPFL was cut to 2 points and we celebrated both results at the John Fallon Tribute Dinner.John Fallon the original holy goalie was on all our minds as we hosted his family and friends to pay tribute to the big man. The media and social media exploded on Sunday after Celtic beat the rangers on penalties in the Scottish Cup blaming both set of fans for the rangers fans running the length of the pitch to confront some Celtic fans who had went on to the pitch to celebrate the win and get a selfie with the heroes of the day.The rangers fans attacked stewards and assaulted a member of the Celtic staff. The Police have tried to deflect the blame from themselves. While much has been written on the experience of republican prisoners during the conflict from 1969 onwards there has been comparatively less attention paid to writing produced by the prisoners themselves. There was a vibrant culture of education and debate inside the cages of Long Kesh, but while we have many second-hand accounts of this, relatively few copies of journals produced by the prisoners have survived.Luckily, Paddy McMenamin not only edited one of these journals for a period, but managed, with the help of his family, to smuggle several issues out. Reproduced here, they provide a fascinating snapshot of the debates taking place amongst just one group of Provisional IRA prisoners in cages 10/18 between 1974 & 1976. There is politics of course, global and local, but also history, culture, sport and craic. Despite the official narrative of the time, it is clear these young men were neither 'mindless terrorists' nor 'criminals'!The author has done all those interested in our history a service by keeping the journals safe.His commentary reminds us not only of the horror and tragedy of the time, but also that these young men were grappling with how to make sense of the conflict they had been thrown into. Peter Grant joins Andrew Milne to chat about Scotland’s qualification for the World Cup and hopes that Ireland and Wales can join them. The bhoys look ahead to Celtic’s visit to Paisley to take on St. Mirren.They chat about Peter’s  career at Celtic including winning the League at Love Street in 1986 before driving to Oban to attend a Celtic Supporters function. During his time at Celtic he played with so many fantastic players and won trophies under 3 Celtic legendary Celts Davie Hay, Billy McNeill and Tommy Burns.Peter also talks about the Celtic’s Centenary Season and the amount of Celtic supporters who were in that team.
