This week the IPCC report spelled out what we have to do to fight climate change. One solution to reducing the level of carbon in our atmosphere is carbon capture. And Oman's very own Talal Hasan is leading the way with his own company 44.01, which recently raised US$5 million in seed funding. By accelerating the process of mineralizing CO2 and storing it as calcite, Talal is looking to contribute to the region's carbon capture efforts. We speak with Talal about his idea, how to encourage more clean tech in the Gulf, and why technology is fundamental to sustainable progress.

We all talk about the importance of access to energy, but do we really understand the impact such ideas and projects can truly have? Anne Nyangweso, Community Coordinator for the KIKOP Project and Samantha Childress, Schneider Electric microgrid solution architect and board member for United Solar Initiative, talk us through what this initiative has meant for the women and children of Matongo and why access to energy should be a top priority for every government and business.
