Exploring authentic confidence has been my experience, and I want you to start your journey to freedom. In this episode, we will delve into the hidden blocks to self-confidence and self-esteem that affect your life and explore actionable steps to overcome them.  A lack of confidence and self-esteem can hold you back and affect various areas of your life, such as career, finances, connections, love relationships, health or overall happiness. It reflects the restless nights spent overthinking, the indecisions and hesitations that stand in the way of your true potential. 
 Let’s address these hidden blocks head-on:
 1st hidden block is your self-Image:  Your self-image, or how you see yourself, profoundly affects your self-confidence and self-esteem. A negative self-image often originates from childhood experiences where we compare ourselves to others and internalized feelings of inadequacy. As a result, we created a distorted sense of identity that does not reflect our true nature and potential. To cultivate a positive self-image, we must begin with self-acceptance. It involves nurturing and healing the inner child and crafting a narrative that reflects our true essence. Furthermore, here is a short extract on self-acceptance from my book “Yes To Love - The Ultimate Guide To Personal Transformation For Everyday Life Balance”: “Self-acceptance requires you to align with the law of non-resistance. It seems that other people remain stuck on the road of resistance. The road of least resistance is peace. I am your host, Pascale Gibon, and today, I delve into the essential theme of authentic confidence.  Authentic confidence, I believe, is fundamentally impossible without growing in self-awareness. We cultivate confidence, humility, and inner peace when we understand ourselves deeply. Many people, however, overlook opportunities for self-discovery and self-exploration, which are crucial in understanding: Who you are? and Why are you here? Authentic confidence is confidence in faith, the belief that the Universe or the God of your understanding always has your back. You are unique, and recognising that your life’s purpose centres around growth can be profoundly enlightening and transformative. Indeed, when you grasp that all your experiences and challenges are growth opportunities, everything starts to make sense.    To illustrate my point, let’s engage in a reflective exercise right now. Think about your story. We all have a story - a starting point. My narrative began with growing up without my dad following my parents’ divorce when I was three and not meeting my dad until I was in my 30s. What about you? What is your story? Your starting point? Or the most challenging experience life has thrown your way?   Life challenges can either make or break us, depending on how we respond. However, life is happening for us and the central lesson in my story that I have learnt is about love and forgiveness. This central lesson has shaped me, helping me understand that love is fundamental for an extraordinary life.  I share this to let you know that you are not alone, for we all have a story or workbook of problems we need to solve.    Where are you right now in your story? Some of us come out of our story triumphant and healed or bitter, broken or wounded for life. What about you?  Are you still attached to the narrative of the past, or have you triumphed by learning the lessons your stories were teaching you? It matters enormously to understand that we will continue to experience repeated lessons until we have fully grasped them and triumphed. Hi, I am your host Pascale Gibon.  In part one of Navigating Life Currents With Greater Ease, we uncovered three ways to identify the stressors in your life, and I introduced five powerful practices to usher in serenity and harmony.   Now, let us dive deeper into this episode, equipping you with practical strategies to sidestep and diminish stress in your life.   Ok, I agree that change is often easier said than done, and I tell you why. In most cases, although we know what steps to take, our habits and paradigms hold us back. But what if there was a relatable and actionable way to reduce stress? Today, I will share three powerful and controllable strategies you can adopt now to ignite change and enhance harmony in your existence: Strategy #1: Stop doing what does not work In other words, if you are constantly hustling and feel deprived of sleep, rest and peace of mind, it is time for a change. All you need is to decide that you are able and willing to make the change that leads to more harmony in your life. Shifting away from activities that fuel stress and disharmony allows you to sail towards more tranquil waters.   Strategy #2: Keep doing what works It is crucial to acknowledge the habits that support your well-being and some aspects of your life that contribute already to your quest for balance and harmony. Therefore, if some of your habits support your well-being and life balance, keep doing these practices happily. Strategy #3: Try something new and see if it works Here, most people get stuck. Fear and uncertainty often act as barriers to change. What if they try, and it does not work? The fear of failure can be overwhelming, but without new strategies, how will you discover what truly brings you peace? The purpose here is to introduce new supportive habits to reduce stress. For example, consider the unsustainable nature of sleep deprivation and its impact on your well-being.  What are the countermeasures? I encourage you to introduce countermeasures such as: Adjust your bedtime by going to bed earlier if you usually stay up late.  Indulge in a relaxing bath before bedtime. Avoid taking stimulants like coffee, chocolate or sweets before bedtime Introduce light stretches to relax the body and release tension, particularly in the neck, back and shoulders. Empty your mind through a meditation practice or journaling. If meditating is challenging, why not try a breathing exercise?  If you have trouble sleeping, avoid stimulating activities and be mindful of the films you watch before bed and your thoughts. Checking social media on your device late at night is another stimulant that makes you reactive. These small changes can significantly alter your course towards a more balanced life. Imagine, for a moment, leading a life where balance is not just an ideal but a reality. Visualise the feelings of serenity and well-being in your body and mind.  There are existing stressors in your life causing imbalance. Now, identify one stressor that tilts your balance and think of ways to mitigate or eliminate it. For example, if your habit is to work 12-14 hours a day when your colleagues work 8 hours, what measures could you take to rebalance? Could it be to review your

When we shift our mindset from problem-focused to solution-oriented, we reclaim control over our life's narrative. Indeed, knowing when to seek help and delegate is not a sign of weakness but wisdom.   Mental, physical, and emotional balance are essential for well-being. I am your host, Pascale Gibon, here to guide you through episode 331, entitled: “7 Levels Deep: Unveiling the Heart Of Your Goals.” For those of you embarking on new goals this year, this episode will give you great insight.   One of the most significant hurdles I see in achieving our goals is not knowing the motivation behind them - not knowing the ‘why’ that breathes life into our aspirations and not having a reason or why that is big enough.  Let me explain. Your WHY clarifies why it matters to you to achieve a particular goal and lights up the path toward your dreams.  Let us take the example of a mother who embarks on an entrepreneurial journey from the comfort of her home. Her motivations might weave through the desire for financial freedom, gifting her family with memorable holidays, or perhaps seeing her husband retire from a job that no longer brings him joy. Another driving force could be the quest for the freedom that entrepreneurship promises.
 To truly identify the core of your ‘why,’ I recommend the ‘7 Levels Deep’ exercise. This exercise involves peeling back the layers of your motivations by asking yourself ‘why’ seven times. This deep dive can reveal the heartfelt reasons behind your goals, making them more compelling and emotionally charged.

Identify your why by asking yourself why you want to accomplish your goal.  You will notice that the bigger the why, the more emotionally engaged you are with it.  If you have noticed a tendency to procrastinate or a lack of inspired actions towards the achievement of your goal, it is time to reflect: Ask yourself: Are you intimately connected with your ‘why’? Do you believe you can achieve your goal? Is your chosen goal a true reflection of your desires? Could a sense of comfort be dampening your urgency to act?
 On the last question, remember that deadlines can be powerful catalysts for action. They instil a sense of urgency that can significantly accelerate our journey towards goal achievement. Reflecting on my journey, setting a deadline for the draft of my first book propelled me to completion.  So, I invite you, dear listeners, to explore the depth of your 'why.' Indeed, explore the true motivator behind your aspirations by asking yourself 'why' seven times. Whether your goal is to launch a business, write a novel, or travel the globe, discovering the underlying 'why' can transform your approach to goal achievement.
 If you struggle to identify the driving force behind your goal, it could indicate that the goal does not align with your authentic self. As a result, you may look for external excuses to explain your unmet achievements.

If you are not content with your results, remember Albert Einstein’s words: “ A problem cannot be solved with the same level of thinking that created it." It means that to change your results, you need to shift your thinking patterns and beliefs. Improving your life comes down to making better choices.  Feeling stuck? Ask yourself: where is my focus? On remaining stuck, or on finding ways to get unstuck? In episode 324, we are delving into a topic that is close to my heart and crucial for achieving life balance: the science of habit formation.  Habits, as we know, are the invisible architecture of our daily life. Nearly half of what we do every day is out of habit. So, how can we harness the power of habits to transform our lives positively?  The most significant shift to make positive changes is to learn to develop habits that align with our life vision and goals. Let us start by understanding what a habit or paradigm (a multitude of habits) is. In its simplest form, a habit is a routine or behaviour we perform regularly - and often automatically or unconsciously. Neuroscience tells us that habits form through a process known as the ‘habit loop.' This loop consists of three key elements: the cue, the routine, and the reward. The cue (or trigger) is a stimulus that initiates the behaviour. It could be a time of day, an emotional state, a particular location, or any other consistent signal. The routine (or behaviour) is the specific habit or action you take in response to the cue. The reward is the benefit or pleasure you get from performing the habit. It reinforces the behaviour and makes it probable that you will perform it again when the cue arises. Let me give you an example. Imagine you are feeling stressed (that is the cue), so you decide to go for a run (the routine). Afterwards, you feel happier and more relaxed (the reward). Over time, this forms a habit loop. The key to forming positive habits is identifying our cues or triggers and consciously attaching new routines that lead to rewarding outcomes. Since you have set your intention and vision for this year, can you identify the new habit loop you need to form to experience rewarding outcomes?  If you do, the next question is: How do we make these habits stick?  Ah, that is where consistency, discipline and patience come in. Recent studies suggest that forming habits is more complex than the commonly said 21-day minimum. The truth is, the time it takes to form a habit can vary greatly depending on the behaviour, beliefs, the person, and the circumstances. In any case, the prerequisite is a committed decision to stick to the new routine to get rewarding outcomes.   Now, let us look at breaking bad habits - a challenge many face. Do you know what the key here is? It is not to eliminate the bad habit but to replace it with a better one that delivers the same reward. For example, if you habitually reach for sugary snacks when stressed, try replacing them with a healthier alternative, like a piece of fruit or a brisk walk.  If you are considering harnessing the power of habits to transform your life, I encourage you to start with one habit. Start small, and remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It is about progress, not perfection. As we wrap up this episode, remember that every habit you have - good or bad - was once a mere decision.  I want to take this opportunity to help you focus this week on a year-end review. In this special year-end review episode, we will reflect on our journeys this past year, celebrating our growth and preparing for a brighter 2024. Let us take a moment to reflect on the year, not just to reminisce but to empower ourselves for a leap forward in 2024. Reviewing the year entails taking 100% responsibility for your life and results. Indeed, you are the director instead of a supporting actor in the movie we call life. A life review is notable feedback and does not invite feeling guilty or harsh judgment.  Consequently, a life review impacts your personal growth and future success. In addition, it matters to know where you are to get to where you want to be. This success principle requires you, therefore, to take some time to review your life.
 As you know, my simple rule of three to create any change is as follows. I learnt this from Jack Canfield, the author of the Success Principles: Stop doing what does not work Keep doing what works Start something new and see if it works. Our year-end review consists of four reflective segments. I organized each segment to illuminate different aspects of our journey. Let us embark on this introspective adventure together. As you know, I like to set intentions for the year rather than resolutions simply because we hardly stick to resolutions.  The most important lesson I learned from setting intentions at the start of the year is the need, throughout the year, for periodic reminders. This is week 6 of our Gratitude Experiment. As we near the end of this series, I am excited to delve into a topic close to my heart and beneficial to our minds and brains. I am Pascale Gibon, your host, and I am delighted to share with you episode 320. In the past weeks, we have immersed ourselves in practising gratitude, each step revealing more of its transformative power. In this episode, let's explore the magic of writing and journaling, not just as a means of expression but as a profound tool for enhancing our mental well-being. The positive effects of writing on the brain are well-documented and fascinating. When we engage in writing, particularly handwriting, we activate a unique neural circuit. Research shows that this activation stimulates brain areas involved in thinking, language, and working memory. Writing or translating thoughts into words provides a workout for our brains. It enhances cognitive efficiency, allowing us to process our thoughts and emotions more effectively. Indeed, writing impacts our cognitive functions in several ways: The process of writing encourages us to organise our thoughts and feelings. It can help us make sense of our emotions and experiences, leading to greater clarity and understanding. Writing can be liberating for some. Journaling about what we are grateful for can lead to a significant increase in optimism. The reflection required for writing helps us focus on the positive aspects of our lives, pushing negative thoughts to the periphery. Regularly writing down our grateful thoughts can enhance emotional intelligence by helping us process and understand our deeper emotions. And lastly, the creative aspect of writing can be a mental stimulant. It encourages us to see things from different perspectives and can lead to innovative ways of thinking and problem-solving. When we take pen to paper to express our gratitude, we engage in a deeply personal and introspective task that has numerous benefits for the mind.  Journaling, especially about gratitude, contributes to improving our problem-solving abilities.
