Dada Vedaprajinananda looks at this question from the yogic perspective.  If God is perfect, then he knows what we need before we even ask it, so according to Shrii Shrii Anandamurti we should not ask for things.  If we ask for anything, then we should ask God to guide our intellect onto the correct path of good and benevolence. The ancient Gayatri Mantra is a prayer of this type.
Dada Vedaprajinananda tackles the question of evil and injustice in a world created by God, using concepts from yoga philosophy (karma and reincarnation), yoga cosmology (the Brahmachakra) as well as physics and chemistry to show that there is no contradiction between the world and God.
In this episode Dada Vedaprajinananda (Dada Veda) demonstrates how to do meditation with the universal mantra (Baba Nam Kevalam “Only the name of the most Beloved” or “Love is All There Is”)
If you are new to meditation, maybe in the first few weeks, you may feel like nothing is happening or perhaps you are doing something wrong. Dada Veda explains why this is natural, but shows how underneath the surface your meditation is actually helping you to reach your goal of finding inner peace and greater mental well being. Pratyahara is one of the steps in the eightfold system of yoga. It means to withdraw the mind from attachment to external objects. It is practiced in a variety of spiritual paths with methods to bring attention away from the outer objects and towards the inner workings of the mind. Dada Vedaprajinananda (aka Dada Veda) reads from a passage in Shrii Shrii Anandamurti’s Discourse “Form, Vibration and Color,” to show another method known as “offering of colors.” This process allows a person to empty the mind from the objects impeding meditation. This episode is based on the discourse “Vibration, Form and Colour” contained in Subhasita Samgraha Part 3 by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti If you want to learn this method personally visit Dada’s website https://www.dadaveda.com and contact him.
