Description

My world's on fire. How bout yours?

Welcome to a weekly peek inside the mind of one man deep inside the dredges of quarantine. Starting a podcast might be the new "let's start a band" but this one-man (mostly) show is sure to entertain.
Topics will range from gaming to music, movies to pop culture, with a hefty dose of stream of consciousness to tie it all together.

New Episodes every Tuesday morning.

The week's show is a shorter length since there was really only one topic I wanted to talk about. It's split up into two parts. First, we look at the waves that actress Bella Thorne has been making on OnlyFans and the ensuing backlash. Then we move on to a deep-dive into why content creators try to monetize other platforms and what happens when a "traditionally famous" person starts engaging on social media for profit.Timestamps:0:01 - 03:18: Intro03:18 - 16:22: Bella Thorne Ruins OnlyFans!?16:22 - 36:35: How Fame Intersects With Social Media
We made it! Ten. Episodes. Deep. Though, even as much as I love milestones and making everything mean something, I will even admit that 10 episodes really isn't that much. So I decided to take it a little easy this week and just do a more introspective / stream of consciousness podcast around the current state of content creation using Jenna Marbles's final podcast as the catalyst for the discussion.Timestamps:0:01 - 13:34: Good Life Update13:34 - 38:46: The State of Content Creation
When I was 17 I bought my first car, an '89 Cavalier. It would serve me faithfully (somewhat) for the next four and half years while I put it through the ringer. This entire podcast is just stories about the car / things that happened to it or happened to me regarding the car. Trying something a little different this week. So, hope everyone likes it.
This week's episode is our longest yet and the first with special guests. My best friends James LaPierre (of Challenger Deep fame) and Jay Lovern (with enough fame in his own right) talk about how Chiodos impact us and the scene as a whole and go through each of their albums. It's a nice deep dive down memory lane in celebration of All's Well That Ends Well turning 15 this week. You can check out James's band "Challenger Deep" here: https://challengerdeepdude.bandcamp.com/
We venture a little deeper into some sensitive subjects today as we talk about why I didn't upload last week, as well as what's been going on in my life. Additionally, Joe Rogan has angered the gamers (#gamersriseup) with his truly incendiary commentary about video games being a useless pastime. We end this episode with a small breakdown of why I love the show Community and why all you basic bitches that love the Office / Parks and Rec should be watching this instead.Timestamps:0:01 - 15:05: Depressing Life Update15:05 - 24:18: Joe Rogan Dunks On Gamers24:18 - 47:03: Community Is The Best Sitcom Ever (Fight Me)
Keeping it a little shorter, a little tighter for the come back episode (is it a comeback if you only miss one week?). Two main topics of discussion today. The venerable Brander Sanderson launching his record breaking Kickstarter campaign for The Way of Kings Leatherbound is up first. Followed by an album review for the best deathcore album of the year "The Praxis of Prophylaxis" by Vermicide Violence (of Jarrod Alonge fame).Timestamps:0:01 - 4:40: Intro4:40 - 16:23: The Book Nook: The Way of Kings Kickstarter16:23 - 49:16: Traffic Jamz: The Praxis of Prophylaxis
In this weeks episode, we discuss how more allegations have come out around Mixer's leadership as well as what former boss Matt Salsamendi has to say about the shutdown. The Internet also lost two very prominent content creators this week with Dr. Disrespect being permanently banned from Twitch and some reports saying "Done forever" & Jenna Marbles calls it quits on YouTube. Timestamps:0:01 - 3:59: Intro3:59 - 12:46: More Mixer News12:46 - 22:29: Dr. Disrespect Perma-Banned22:29 - 36:26: Jenna Marbles Quit YouTube
On this week's episode we dive into some heavier, more somber topics as we discuss a lot of what has happened within the gaming / streaming industry in the last 72 hours. It's said in the podcast itself, but the last twenty minutes or so specifically talk about sexual abuse / assault / rape, so please look at the timestamps below to know when to close out. This is something that was really lying heavy on my heart.0:01 - 3:37: Intro3:37 - 17:18: Output My Input - The Return of Belle Delphine17:18 - 34:18: Output My Input - #MixerShutdown34:18 - 01:01:11: Rage, Rage, Fucking Rage - Gaming Industry House Cleaning
This episode absolutely fits the namesake The Sound of My Own Voice Podcast. No agenda, recorded two hours before launch, and just a meandering walk through my mind as I discuss a couple of games I've been playing recently, as well as nice collector's piece I just added to my video game collection. Also, definitely going to work on some transitions / music stings for future episodes. My segues are weak.Timestamps:0:01 - 2:22: Intro2:22 - 7:26: The Wonderful 101 Remastered7:26 - 21:06: Fornite Lore / Chapter 2 Season 2 Event21:06 - 32:03: Phantasy Star Online 2
I should really start recording these on the weekends instead of literal hours before they're supposed to release. Might give me time to actually type up some insightful show notes. This week I go over RTJ4, the aptly-named fourth studio-album by rap duo "Run The Jewels" (Killer Mike & El-P). It's an absolutely crushing album and speaks to how important the current events of the world are and how insanely talented MCs and musicians these dudes are. You should absolutely go support them here: https://runthejewels.com/ .After that I dive into the history of my relationship with videos and what about the medium makes me so passionate about it. I also touch on the real reason why I create things in general and what drives me to generate experiences that other people will connect with.Timestamps:Intro: 0:01 - 4:14Traffic Jamz (RTJ4 by "Run The Jewels): 04:14 - 30:49Why I Love Video Games: 30:49 - 57:32
Welcome to the very first episode of The Sound of My Own Voice Podcast. This episode is a little longer than I think I will generally try to make these, but I'm working out the time frame for each discussion topic. Contained within this episode are bite-sized chunks of all the major segments of the show, as well as an intro to "Why"? I decided that's really the reason I would ask myself before starting a podcast, "Why do I want to listen to this?" "Why do I care?". Hopefully, you'll find these answers compelling. Below are the time codes for each different subject.00:00 - 15:25: Intro / Why?15:25 - 23:37: Traffic Jamz (Veil of Maya - Outsider)23:37 - 32:58: Output My Input (Keemstar vs. H3H3)32:58 - 35:09: The Book Nook (Brief Wheel of Time)35:09 - 36:59: Chef Dude Jour (Pizza: It's the Best)36:59 - 40:49: kliqikamori (Solar Opposites Episode 01)40:49 - 01:05:00: Rage, Rage, Fucking Rage (George Floyd, BLM, Human Rights)
