I'm back with one amazing announcement. As you all know ESG is gaining prominence in the corporate agenda, with regulators pulling the strings to companies leveraging it for strategic reasons. Naturally, the demand for ESG professionals has skyrocketed over the past few years. But unfortunately, our mainstream education is unable to keep pace with these developments. Did you know a 468% increase in the demand for ESG professionals in the last 3 years? Imagine the scope of not only growing a career in this booming, dynamic industry but also making a mark by contributing to #ClimateAction! The most significant growth in this ESG sector was seen from April 2021 to April 2022, and without a doubt, the demand is just going to get higher! But the truth is, our educational system still does not have the right guidance or understanding of the ground reality to prepare students and professionals to make the best of this massive opportunity. I could not just sit and wait for the system to change, so my colleague Riya and I have created a course as dynamic as the ESG field itself! Taught by 8 leading experts, the 360° approach goes beyond the classroom to help participants get first-hand experiences, have one-on-one discussions with industry experts, and build an invaluable network that will help you long after the program ends. Website:  https://thelittlegiant.business.site/ Our guest for today is someone who transitioned from a flourishing career in the Corporate to growing and marketing ‘Micro Greens’, the powerhouse of nutrition and taste. Anuj Malhotra is the founder of ‘LittleGIANT’, a venture that grows Micro Greens - the modern superfoods, fortified with minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and fiber. They are different because the micronutrient content in microgreens is 40 times higher than their full-grown leaves. Anuj is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Xavier’s School of Management. He has more than 15 years of corporate experience in Sales and Marketing. He has worked with Godrej Soaps, ICICI Bank, Citibank and Edelweiss before becoming a full-time entrepreneur. A Mumbai-based specialized microgreens startup, Little GIANT has drawn its inspiration from global trends that showed a very pronounced usage of Microgreens by households as well as hotels. They found that in India its usage was and still is limited to high-end restaurants, mainly as garnish. Identifying the opportunity in the country, LittleGIANT started mainly as a B2B business focused on the hotel industry. It has constantly innovated with sustainable design & farming systems along with delivery methods to boost healthy eating through simple and sustainable living. Later with onset of COVID-19 and the lockdown that followed, the expanded to B2C model LittleGIANT was able to bring innovations in customer acquisition and a B2B to B2C shift that includes delivery of home kits, subscription models for home-delivered and retail ready, curated, healthy “super salads”. Today, LittleGIANT is present across all locations in India and has multiple product ranges and varieties like edible flowers, Microgreens and exotic vegetables, fruits, herbs and berries. Our today's guest is super cool. She was born in Silicon Valley and is currently getting an MBA from Santa Clara University. She's here to talk about Power Knot, a company in California that manufactures biodigesters. Biodigesters divert food from landfills and convert it into grey water that can safely return to the environment. Greywater is all the streams of water from households or offices except wastewater if you don't know. This greywater once commercially treated can go back to the environment! Their digesters can process 20kg-1000kg of food waste in corporate and military settings. We've spoken before about how important food waste is to sustainability earlier in the podcast, so you'd know how absolutely amazing that is. If that's not cool enough already, they've reduced 6300 tonnes of organic waste from the landfill in 2020! Power Knot now has offices in the US, UK, UAE and Australia. We hope they come to India soon. It's companies like Power Knot that make a big difference in the amount of waste created commercially, and we're so happy to have their Marketing Manager on our podcast to tell us more. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sustainability101podcasts/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sustainability101podcasts/support

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, half of its potential. Globally, 750 million women and girls were married before the age of 18. In 18 countries husband's can legally prevent their wives from working and there are many similar statistics which demonstrates the injustice towards women. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development. Society still values women as wives and mothers first, and towards the end of the list as economic powerhouses.
