After a week-long sabbatical, the guys are back one more time to debrief all the Super Rugby Aotearoa Final between Flynny's Chiefs and Sam's Crusaders, and
No podcast this week, unfortunately! Sam, Tony & Flynny will be back next week to review the season post final.
Sam and Tony welcome back Andy the Stats-Man to talk all things Super Rugby Aotearoa as the Crusaders book a home final against the Chiefs, and the guys look into the final round-robin games of the season! Apologies for Sams Microphone - You'll have to listen extra close!
Well, what a week of Super-Rugby action we had last week! Join Sam, Tony & Flynny as they dissect the loss of Sam's mighty Crusaders, Tony's 'Lander's beating the Blues, and the biggest question of the week, Would you exclusively shower in the sheds with The Chiefs? The guy's answers may (or may not) surprise you.
This week the boys chat Highlanders v Chiefs & Hurricanes v Crusaders, Sam writes a song to fire up fans of the All Blacks, Tony sings Matchbox 20 and Flynny does turn up... eventually!
Sam is finding it tough this week after his team the Crusaders lost to Tony's team the Highlanders in Christchurch. Will Sam survive the podcast? Plus we talk the Blues beating the Hurricanes and preview this week upcoming games.
After his beloved Chiefs beat the Blues in nail-biting fashion last weekend, Flynny was so excited to brag to the guys about it that he forgot about this week's podcast. In the meantime, join Sam & Tony as they play the critically acclaimed game; Title Hunters!
Flynny bails for bigger things, so Sam & Tony hunker down between the flashing buttons and DJ gear in the George FM studio to talk the big games of the weekend. Plus Sam takes his son Charlie to the crusaders game, his first ever rugby game, will he end up a one-eyed supporter like his Dad... or will blue be his new favourite colour?!
This week the guys are joined by Bryce Casey from The Rock's Morning Rumble who lets us in on why he's a die-hard Hurricanes fan, and what happened in the sheds after last year's Blair Vining charity match...
This week, the teams worst crimes, Cock of the week, the best haircut in super rugby, a new feature: tell & tell, Tony the ball boy and a fake Christian Cullen interview!
Tony, Sam and Flynny are back, but not together... 2nd week and we're already socially distanced! Now that we have a game to talk about, the podcast gets serious. Mostly. We talk old school parenting, have a fake interview with Aaron Smith, and pick the best stadium in the country. It's the #1 sporting podcast in NZ! (for a day)
How did that happen? Sam Smith & Tony Lyall return for another round of lite rugby chat, and they've roped in More FM's Flynny! Why Flynny? What do the boys do when there is no rugby? Does Sam sing any terrible impromptu songs? What Happened to Andy? All that and more on episode 1 of season 2 of the Currently Untitled Rubgy Podcast!
Its the last week of the season, we nearly made it, but then reality bit. New Zealand no longer the safe haven island paradise for rugby lovers. How did Sam deal with not being able to see his team one last time? How respected should a super rugby trophy be? What does Tony find a little more-ish? FYI: Due to lockdown level 3, this episode was recorded over zoom in undies.
We're nearly there, this week the Currently Untitled Rugby Podcast holds the preview of the last game of this short season, to end it all Sam has written an acrostic poem. Also Tom pitches a feature 2 page spread for the countries newspapers. More hot rugby player talk, and who is Andy fighting in the rain on the roof of Eden Park at this weekends match?
The penultimate week of the season - with special guest & chiefs supporter Guy Williams! This week, more banter than hard sports chat, but that's part of the deal when you have a trio of joke making professionals in studio together. This week, do looks factor into a rugby players skillset? A preview of the last games of the season and the cause of the obesity epidemic. Standard podcast stuff.
Special guest host, More FM's Flynny, joins Tony & Sam as an honorary stats man. This week Sam is on the edge after the Crusaders end their winning streak, his only way of coping is by pouring his grief into art. He writes a poem to his one-eyed love, the Crusaders. Flynny shares a Boh Runga story and shares tips on how to be a great husband. Tony mostly keeps his nose clean in this one.
Tony, Sam and Andy the Stats man are here for another 3 weeks - reviewing, previewing and misconstruing the Aotearoa rugby season that we're blessed with. This episode, Sam writes a blues song for the blues, Andy's back, as usual, he stats all over the place... and Tony, well just don't ask him about the Superbru.
Spoiler warning: This week six shocker features the first major death in the podcast, with one of our mighty heroes succumbing to the pressures of paid employment. The G.O.A.T segment has a successor, but is it worthy enough to last the season and what new rule would have team captains kiss on the lips? All this, and the rugby review and preview. On the Currently Untitled Rugby Podcast this week!
Tony, Sam and Andy the stats man look back at the weekend that was, reviewing the highlights & lowlights of the Super Rugby. Tony Lyall shares his love for Tony Brown (no relation), Sam Smith continues to gloat from the bottom of the superbru picks and Andy the stats man harks back to the first ever red card in a world cup. Let us describe this episode no further, it's time to click listen, then subscribe, then rate.
Tony, Sam & the stats man are back for week 4! Sam gets texts from How To Dad & Dai Henhood, Tony fights uphill for the Highlanders, and the stats man reveals a SuperBru shocker. Plus the Crusadiest Crusader to ever Crusade, a house is on the line, and a few gouda cheese puns. The Currently Untitled Rugby Podcast. Still untitled. Still a podcast.
