Description

Hello, I’m Craig and welcome to Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt, revealing the passions, recollections and stories of each guest.

The concept is pretty simple…

In each episode, a well known guest talks to me about three football shirts that mean something important to them.

Expect some footballing-highs, some footballing-lows and enjoy a deeper dive into the wider world football culture itself.

So please do remember to like, follow and share, but above all - please do - enjoy the podcast.

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt. In today’s episode I'm joined by award winning writer and editor of The Blizzard, Jonathan Wilson as we discuss the recently revised edition of his book Angels with Dirty Faces, an incredible book which not only covers the history of Argentinian football to the present day, but also the history of the modern country itself. I really recommend it.Beyond the book we cover Jonathan’s three football shirt choices, beginning with a nostalgic trip to Sunderland’s Roker Park during an epic FA Cup Run, an emotional African Cup of Nations win for Zambia and we round things off discussing the legacy of Maradona and the shirt he wore against England at the World Cup in Mexico in 1986.***The article covering Zambia’s moving win in the AFCON Final in 2012 can be found herehttps://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/feb/12/zambia-ivory-coast-africa-cup-nations-finalYou can follow me on Instagram, or get in touch via Twitter or email. footballkitmemories@gmail.com https://Twitter.com/FKMPodcasthttps://instagram.com/footballkitmemoriesWatch on YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@footballkitmemoriespodcastYou can get the revised edition of Angels With Dirty Faces https://www.orionbooks.co.uk/titles/jonathan-wilson/angels-with-dirty-faces/9781409144441/Subscribe to The Blizzard Periodical, which Jonathan edits herehttps://theblizzard.co.uk/about/Make sure you follow him on Twitter too:https://twitter.com/jonawilshttps://twitter.com/blzzrdThe music you heard was produced by Evil Ed check out his music on Bandcamp page https://eviledtheenthusiast.bandcamp.com/There’s links to everything I’ve mentioned in the notes sectionAnd… finally thanks to you for listening. Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt. In today’s episode I'm joined by the founder and first editor of Loaded magazine - James Brown. James recently published his memoir ‘Animal House’ which covers his life both before and after the magazine and for me it was an excellent read in the way it honestly reflects both the highs and lows of celebrity and excess during the 1990s.James initially began writing in Leeds during the 1980s, where he turned his passion for music into his own successful fanzine. A move to the more established music press in London followed first at Sounds and then at the NME before James was given the opportunity to set up Loaded, a title that essentially redefined male culture in the media. Our chat covers the music, magazines and mayhem that James describes so well in his book, as well as his passion for football and Leeds United.Remember, you can listen to this and other episodes of Football Kit Memories on all major audio platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Please do like, follow and share - but above all - enjoy the podcast !***You can follow me on Instagram, or get in touch via Twitter or email. footballkitmemories@gmail.com https://Twitter.com/FKMPodcasthttps://instagram.com/footballkitmemoriesWatch on YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/@footballkitmemoriespodcastJames’ book ‘Animal House’’ is published by Quercus Books and is out now…https://www.quercusbooks.co.uk/titles/james-brown/animal-house/9781787477902/Make sure you follow James on socials: https://twitter.com/jamesjamesbrown?lang=enhttps://www.instagram.com/jamesjamesbrown/?hl=enThe music you heard was produced by Evil Ed check out his music on Bandcamp page https://eviledtheenthusiast.bandcamp.com/There’s links to everything I’ve mentioned in the notes sectionAnd… finally thanks to you for listening.
