Britni Gielow, from right here in West Michigan is an LPGA professional, she helps men & women of all ages & ability levels improve their games & on top of that, she’s a certified CardioGolf fitness instructor. Britni’s going to come on, share a bit of her background in the game, where you can get access to her expertise & she’s going to dive into CardioGolf & how she can help improve your fitness & your game this offseason. This week on the podcast were talking TaylorMade’s latest & greatest driver! The SIM2 line has just launched, so we’re going to give you my initial thoughts & hopefully we can get some of you out hitting & getting fit for the product in the coming months! We’re also going to talk about Tiger and the news of his 15,000th back surgery... or 5th. We can’t forget the American Express in La Quinta California this week on the PGA Tour, so I’ll touch on who’s playing & who’s my pick to get the W!
Welcome back to the Michigan Golf podcast! We’re finally kicking off Season 2 & getting 2021 underway. It’s been a few weeks & since the calendar has turned to a new year we begin to look ahead to the new golf season. It’s early yet, still plenty of offseason left for us Michiganders, but we’re going to talk how things are progressing with TaylorMade, the early stages of building my tournament calendar & a quick sneak peek of some upcoming guests on the show. Again, welcome back everyone, it’s good to be back & I’m looking forward to what the new season has in store for the Michigan Golf podcast!
As 2020 draws to a close we’re going to conclude the fist season of the Michigan Golf podcast right here, right now. Nothing crazy, just a casual overview of where we’ve been & where we’re heading next. It’s been a great season sharing the game & all of my Michigan golf experience with you guys & there will be a ton more to come in 2021. In the meantime, I’m going to take a couple weeks, enjoy the holidays, see what I can do to continue to evolve & grow this podcast experience & come back at ya in just a few short weeks. Until then, stay warm out there!
Who’s making a comeback this upcoming season?! We’ve become used to seeing Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, etc battle it out for the “W” these last few seasons, but who do we miss from the “days of old”? Who’s primed to make a resurgence in 2021 & revisit the winner’s circle? I picked 5 players that I think we could see get it done. Want to know who? Smash that play button to find out!
This episode we’re going to dove tail off the mental game episode and discuss goal setting heading into the 2021 season as well as the fundamentals that you can work on all winter long as we look to come out strong next season. We’re covering a little of this & a little of that & discussing where the Michigan Golf podcast could go heading into the new year. Smash that play button & check it out!
Heading into the offseason & as we’re all thinking of ways to improve our games, it’s easy to dive right into swing mechanics. However, a big part of my offseason routine includes working on the mental game. I have a few, specific resources that I use & thought I’d share some of those with you! Golf is 90% mental ya know, so hit the play button & let’s see what the physiological side of this game is all about!
This is where I usually divulge a few details regarding what this episode of the Michigan Golf podcast is all about, but in this case, you’re gonna have to smash that play button to find out! Thanks for tuning in & enjoy!
This episode we’re going to recap a tradition unlike any other! This will likely be the only November Masters we’ll ever witness & history was made in more ways than one. Let’s dive in, discuss the champ, revisit my top 5 pics from the preview episode & talk about all that was this incredible week in Augusta!
This week on the Michigan Golf podcast I decided to take a break from course reviews & equipment talk to discuss what’s on every golf fan’s mind right now, a November Masters! How’s the course going to play? How’s the tournament going to feel without patrons? Who’s got the hot hand & could walk away wearing a green jacket come Sunday? Hit the play button and let’s chat about it!
This week on the Michigan Golf podcast we’re going to talk about my new driver shaft! In numerous previous episodes I’ve discussed the importance of getting fit in order to optimize your equipment for your game & after several years of “self fitting”, I finally decided to practice what I preach. I got on a launch monitor, gathered the data, and want to dish to you guys the condensed version of what that experience was like and what shaft I ended up putting in play!
Last weekend I got in a late season round at Thornapple Pointe, just on the east side of Grand Rapids. Although it was a scramble format, I figured I’d drop a quick play by play & share the course with you guys! It’s a great track that I don’t play as often as I should. Tune in to check it out as it’s a fun test for golfers of all skill levels & I guarantee it will not disappoint!
Last week I had the opportunity to get in a late season round at what’s probably my favorite country club in the area. Muskegon County Club holds a special place in my heart as every year I try and grind my way through the US Open local qualifier there. It’s a great Donald Ross design with beautiful rolling fairways & some very difficult green complexes, so hit the play button & let’s chat more about Muskegon Country Club!
This episode we’re jumping back in to what will likely be one of the last “live action” course overviews of the season. If you’ve played Stone Gate Golf Club before, awesome, but if not, I highly recommend adding it to your list for 2021. It’s a great design located just north of Muskegon, MI that will give you all the feels of Northern Michigan golf just a short 50 minute drive from Grand Rapids!
We’re keeping the equipment series rolling & this episode we’re going to chat wedges! What lofts are going to help you fill your distance gaps? What bounce angles are going to benefit you most based on your turf conditions? But most importantly, what’s going to help you get up and down more often in an effort to shave strokes off your game? Tune in and let’s talk about it!
The equipment mini series continues & this episode we’re addressing one of golf’s great debates, long irons vs hybrids vs fairway woods! I’m going to share how I asses what goes in my bag and how I decide to fill the gap between the longest iron in my bag and my 3 wood.
This episode we’re going to continue the equipment mini series but head to the top of the bag, the big dog, the driver! I’m going to share a bit about how I decide what driver head/shaft is right for my game and maybe help shed some light on how you can learn more about your current driver and what might help you improve your performance as I look to improve mine!
This episode we’re starting to explore a bit of a Michigan Golf mini series. Instead of profiling a golf course, I wanted to take a shot at highlighting the flat stick and the importance of putting when trying to elevate your game. I’m going to share my story with the putter & what I look for to better perform on the greens!
