John is back reacting to a late-game thriller that saw the Los Angeles Chargers and superstar QB Justin Herbert take down Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 34-27. John explains that this is exactly why you pay Head Coach Jim Harbaugh to win the big game against a struggling AFC rival before diving several reasons why the Chargers could make some noise in the NFL playoffs. Next, John recaps a battle between two top-5 NFL quarterbacks in Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert, and explains why the Chargers QB1 is a “complete freak show” on the gridiron. After, Middlekauff waxes poetic about former LSU Heisman trophy winner and No. 1 overall draft pick Joe Burrow, making a comparison to Peyton Manning or Tom Brady’s innate football instincts. Then, John recaps the rest of a loaded NFL Sunday slate including Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills taking down an UNDEFEATED Patrick Mahomes led Chiefs squad, and Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers. John reacts to the Philadelphia Eagles defeating red-hot rookie QB Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in a pivotal Thursday Night Football matchup by a score of 26-18. Then, John explains why Saquon Barkley is putting together an MVP level campaign behind Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown and a stout defense as the Philadelphia Eagles improve to 8-2 on the season. John takes a deep dive into Saquon Barkley who has reemerged as one to the League’s best running backs behind a great Eagles offensive line, and goes in on the incompetent New York Giants for letting an all pro caliber player walk. After, Middlekauff tips his cap to a talented Eagles defense, led by former Georgia Bulldogs Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, and salutes a “really good” squad that could propel the birds to a divisional crown. Next, Middlekauff dives into rookie quarterback sensation Jayden Daniels, a former Heisman Trophy winner who struggled tonight against a divisional rival, and looks at Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders potential to ride an early hot streak throughout the second half of a tough NFL season. John Middlekauff returns after another edition of Monday Night Football between the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel and Tua Tagovailoa facing off against Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. John discusses how the Los Angeles Rams offense has looked stagnant since their team has gotten relatively healthy and wonders if the Rams are in trouble in the NFC West. Then, Middlekauff explains why this loss was “devastating” for Sean McVay’s squad who now finds themselves behind the 8-ball in a playoff race in the NFC. Despite having Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp back the Rams couldn’t figure out how to move the ball against a Dolphins defense that stepped up to the plate on a big Monday night, and now they face an uphill battle heading into the second half of the NFL season. John salutes the Dolphins dynamic weapons in Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane and Tua Tagovailoa for knocking out a 23-15 win and explains why the 3-6 squad is better than their record indicates. Then, another edition of Penthouse/Outhouse featuring Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, the hapless New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and the Port-a-Potty Carolina Panthers. Next, John wonders what current college football coaches, such as Kirby Smart and Lane Kiffin, could jump ship and head to the NFL like Nick Saban, Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh. Finally, John hits on a few major stories around the NFL. The Chicago Bears' dysfunction starts at the top of the organization. What are the Indianapolis Colts going to do moving forward? New Orleans Saints interim head coach, Darren Rizzi, clogs the toilet and wins a game. Jerry Jones continues his nonsensical ways. 3:23 - MNF Dolphins at Rams reaction 15:57 - NFL Penthouse/Outhouse 25:21 - What college coaches could we see in the NFL? 32:54 - Bears dysfunction starts at the top 42:53 - What are the Colts going to do? 50:23 - Saints interim HC Darren Rizzi clogs a toilet and wins a game 54:43 - Jerry Jones reacts to window drapes comment Follow John on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube for the latest. John is back to discuss the thrilling Sunday Night Football tilt between the “team of destiny” Detroit Lions and Houston Texans. Middlekauff salutes Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions for holding on to win 26-23, despite Goff throwing 5 interceptions in a hard-fought battle in Houston, Texas. Middlekauff uses tonight's messy first half to illustrate the Detroit Lions resilience and explains why coming back from being down 23-7 is a testament to the NFC North’s grit and mental toughness and explains why the Lions might be on par with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this season. John breaks down the Detroit Lions impressive comeback and explains why both teams’ struggling quarterbacks led to a gritty battle in a big game that saw the Detroit Lions move to 8-1 on the season. Then, John explains why the Houston Texans, who burst onto the scene led by rookie QB CJ Stroud last season, seem to have lost the magic that got them into the NFL’s playoffs in 2023. Next, John dives into the state of various “ugly” NFL franchises such as the New York Giants, Caleb Williams & the Chicago Bears, Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets, Dak Prescott & the Dallas Cowboys and several others. Finally, John salutes Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, and Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers. 5:33 - SNF reaction - Lions at Texans 23:50 - NFL disaster watch 24:50 - Bears are NFL biggest disaster 31:56 - Jerry Jones to blame for Cowboys woes 36:08 - Jags with Mac Jones are a tough watch 38:53 - NFL shout outs Follow John on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube for the latest. Colin’s joined by John Middlekauff, host of “3 and Out” to break down the week 10 Sunday action! They start with the 49ers dominating the Bucs but barely pulling out a win in a showing that proved the 49ers are “leaking oil” and why their poor special teams could cost them (4:00). They move on to the Steelers finally finding their offense with Russell Wilson and why the Commanders are a better story than team (10:45) They break down a lifeless performance from the Jets against the Cardinals and why Aaron Rodgers has become “Washington Wizards Michael Jordan” (18:45) and explain why the Chiefs last second win said more about the Broncos and why Sean Payton finally has his Drew Brees in Bo Nix (33:00) They parse another disastrous offensive performance from the Bears with Caleb Williams regressing and debate whether Matt Eberflus should be fired in-season (40:00). Colin declares the Cowboys are the worst team in the league (54:00) and they debate which head coaching opening in 2025 is the best (01:03:00) Finally, they dive into college football and discuss why the regular season doesn’t have the same sense of urgency with the 12 team playoff and why the transfer portal has created a power imbalance between coaches and players in a way that’s bad for the sport (01:22:00) (Timestamps may vary based on advertisements.) John returns to react to a loaded NFL Sunday, capped by Sam Darnold, Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings taking down Joe Flacco’s Indianapolis Colts 21-13. Middlekauff breaks down Sam Darnold’s impressive performance and wonders if there might be a quarterback controversy brewing in the Twin Cities between the former USC QB and first-round pick JJ McCarthy.
