Season 1 Recap Bunker orphan Ace is an outcast in the underground bunker complex known as Subterra. Desperate to escape, Ace repairs and reactivates a robot dog that contains embedded codes that unlock a hidden elevator to the surface of the planet. Along the way, he confronts mutant creatures of the deep and a ruthless Sentry who wants Ace dead. With Hazel’s help, he manages to elude the Sentry and arrives at what he thinks is the surface, only to discover it is an upper level bio-containment facility called Wintergarden. That is where he meets Mallan Locke.
