The Movement Revolution Podcast is proud to bring you a 2 part series on Blood Flow Restriction. Our guest is no other than Chris Gaviglio, PhD. He has experience with Blood Flow Restriction or BFR for 15 years, using it with athletes of different disciplines such as Rugby Players and Olympian Decathletes. BFR has been accumulating growing evidence in performance and rehabilitation. Coach Chris talks about the 5 mechanisms of BFR, as well as an EXCLUSIVE of how BFR helped an Olympian in the Tokyo Olympics. This is the continuation of our talk with Shon Hsu.  Shon expounds on the principles he looks for when taking on a Strength and Conditioning client.  We also chat about the importance of objective measures such as Shon's experience with the Force Plate.  Finally, Shon describes how he sees the role of Fascia in Sport. 
Shon Hsu is our guest for this episode. He is a Movement Coach who is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Shon is based in Toronto, Canada and he conceptualized the course Fitness Optimization.  Fitness Optimization discusses, General Physical Preparedness and how you can use CARs & PNF to  bring athletes or the general population to Optimize their Movement.  Because of the circumstances in 2020, you may have seen a lot of social media posts about Controlled Articular Rotations or CARs. In case you were wondering what are the objectives of CARs were,  I asked Shon how he explains this concept to clients, and he even discusses further by explaining how PNF can complement CARs.  His first courses were in Taiwan.  and he went a step further by bringing it globally, including Movement Revolution's home Manila, Philippines.  If you would like to know more about Shon, check out his IG: movefit_shon and his website www.movementfacilitation.com
We had such an awesome time discussing many topics with Connor, that we decided to make it a 2 part series.  This is part 1 of a 2 part series.  In this episode, Connor extrapolates on his PhD studies, that also touch upon Syndemic Theory.  In addition, we also briefly talked about Telehealth because of his  Masterclass on Telehealth with Physio Network.  Pain information and education were also loosely discussed in this episode.

Episode 3 of the Movement Revolution Podcast: Talk on Strengthening for Rehabilitation For the third episode of the Movement Revolution Podcast, We had a special guest, Hybrid Physical Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach, LA Ratio. Coach  LA, is currently the S & C Coach of San Beda College Basketball,  perennial contenders in the NCAA basketball tournament. After  Physical Therapy School, he ventured into Strongman and powerlifting  training, that eventually led in honing his S & C Coaching skills. The language spoken was a mix of English and Tagalog. Strengthening in Rehabilitation was also discussed together with a few guidelines on exercising while on quarantine. Audio  was not as perfect as I would have liked because it was not a face to  face interview, but I hope you are still able to learn a few things from  what were discussed.
The Second episode, entitled,  "Patellar Tendinopathy: to Isometrics or to not",   aims to discuss Isometric exercise in Patellar Tendinopathy Rehabilitation.  It aims to be an alternative in continuous learning for Rehabilitation practitioners in the Philippines. Greg Lehman is a Titan of the Pain Science Community.  In this episode,  I first asked him about Lamar Gant, when I was in his Reconciling Pain Science with Biomechanics workshop it was the first time I heard of a person with Scoliosis who could achieve World Record feats.  I then continue to ask him about how he approaches managing people with Scoliosis.  Regarding Pain Science,  I first asked him how he became inclined to teaching Pain Science Education.  In addition,  asked him for clarity about certain concepts  that he has distributed with his Recovery Strategies- Pain Guidebook.  For example,  For example, Pain is Normal; Pain can be Weird though.  Greg expounds on certain experiences he has with professionals who have learned Pain Science from him. Travis Pollen goes in depth with content of his PhD studies.  Shoulder assessments such as the Apley's Scratch Test and the Neer's test were discussed in relation to its possible effect in College Swimmers.  Movement Revolution was very fortunate to have Travis expound on his expertise in Swimming. 
Travis Pollen, aka the Fitness Pollenator graced the podcast with his presence! He is such a fascinating person, on top of all his accomplishments.  Travis just recently got his PhD Dissertation Published in the Journal of Athletic Training. In his swimming career, he is also a record-holding Para-Swimmer.  In addition, Travis, is an extraordinary Personal Trainer, who has even co-authored two books.  Learn more about him by listening to the episode that marks one year of the Movement Revolution Podcast. 
This is the 2nd part of the Movement Revolution interview with Connor Gleadhill.  Connor has experience in handling Tactical Strength and Conditioning as well as  Rugby League Strength and Conditioning. He explained the differences in how to manage both types of 'teams'.  Reinforcing a consistent message to athletes in a team setting was also discussed.  This episode is especially dedicated to the Healthcare Practitioners working in the Front lines.
